Chapter 898 -900 My Girlfriend (6)
That day, everyone was filming smoothly, and during a break in the scene between Huang Mi and Xiang Yirou, Xue Feifei had been learning movements from the martial arts instructor. For example, a simple wirework move is difficult without practice, not to mention striking an impressive pose once you’re up in the air.
As she was hanging from the wires, she looked down from above and saw what seemed to be a large crowd heading in their direction. The filming location was already in the middle of nowhere, where it was rare to even see outsiders. So why would there be such a large group of people coming this way?
“Don’t tell me they’re tourists,” she thought, “This isn’t a tourist spot. Although the scenery is beautiful, the economy of this country had been in poor condition in recent years. If people were going on vacation, they’d visit the famous sites, not a place like this. And this crowd, even though they aren’t carrying any weapons or farm tools, didn’t seem to have good intentions.”
Down below, their Team B director was shouting into a megaphone, “Xue Feifei, what are you looking at? Get ready to shoot. All units pay attention, 3, 2, 1, roll——”
Before he could finish the word “action,” he realized what Xue Feifei had been paying attention to.
The group had approached close to their location, stopping at a distance, neither rushing forward nor saying much. Then, they pulled out cardboard, stickers, signs, and the like from their bags, lifted them, and began shouting.
However, the crowd was speaking the local Eastern European language, and though there were a few interpreters in the crew, one was with Team A, dozens of kilometers away filming. The interpreter who had been with the team had since returned to the city to open a Chinese restaurant because there had been no issues for a long time.
In the crew right now, there wasn’t a single person who could speak the local language. Even more problematic was that most of the actors, because they were stars, had rather poor English skills. It was already considered good if they could properly complete an undergraduate degree at a film academy. And even those who did attend film school weren’t really required to excel in academics, let alone English.
Other assistants and directors, a few of whom barely had enough English for basic communication, would struggle to make things clear if they tried to communicate. Especially with Eastern Europeans, whose English might not be very good, communication was even more challenging.
But the most pitiable was Xue Feifei, as she was still tied up in the harness. Everyone below her was too busy talking to pay her any attention. The wind was getting quite rowdy and a bit cold.
At first, the director and the assistants thought it might be fans of one of their celebrities. After all, they had come abroad to shoot a film, Xiang Yirou was popular for her online traffic and Huang Mi also had many fans. Some of the senior actors were also quite famous in the previous years. Seeing this crowd approaching, the director ordered some people to communicate, while others were sent to ask the stars, “Whose fan club is this? Why weren’t we informed beforehand?”
Some stars organize fan clubs to make their time on set more pleasant or to amplify their presence. These are more common domestically, but they also exist internationally depending on the company’s overseas operations. However, it was quite shocking to gather such a large number of people in such a remote and desolate place.
The celebrities looked at each other and shook their heads. If there had been such a support activity, their companies would usually inform them first. At the very least, the fans would come carrying the celebrities’ light sticks, wearing uniform clothing; or, if nothing else, they would chant a few names – which was unlike the current situation.
