"Talia and her team also know about this information and I am pretty sure they must be going toward the special beast location in one of the directions. I just hope we don't face them" Nyla's voice was flickering with bitterness when she mentioned her step-sister.
This year her step-sister was also participating in the national military school tournament and the Mailon family was confident that their beloved daughter Talia would surely get a better rank than Nyla who only came in the seventh spot last year.
Although Nyla wanted to give all her points to Rio without a second thought but her national military school tournament's rank was going to be directly compared to her younger sister by her dear family so it was making her a little nervous.
"Don't worry about her, even if we face them, we won't lose to any of them. Moreover, I will not allow anyone to look down on you. I promise that you won't lose to her even if it means giving up on knowing my parents' identity this year.
Since I have already waited so many years, one more year would be nothing." The boy declared, his tone flowing with love for the girl.
He was not going to let Nyla get embarrassed in front of her whole family because she decided to be on a team with him and choose to stay by his side. The boy vowed to protect her pride as his own, Though it hadn't occurred to him before, her dejected expression stirred something within him and he refused to let her falter in the face of Talia's challenge.
Nyla's heart was filled with warmth as she heard her affection-filled statement, she mumbled inwardly, "Thank you mom, for sending such an angel into my life."
She was glad that she got to marry him and not that playboy Ruben Astor even if it cost her almost sacrificing herself to redeem her sweetheart.
"For me, you will always remain the best person in the world and I will forever love you the most but..." Nyla spoke in a heavy emotional tone and in end she changed it and pointed towards her wrist, tapping the surface of the AI watch with her index finger lightly.
Rio understood what she meant when she indicated the second AI watch.
She continued with a concerned tone, "We should hurry, sweetie. Our rank dropped down and we came down to the thirty-two position."
At the time, they were talking and discussing other stuff their ranking was greatly reduced. The other teams weren't sitting around and were working all the time before night blocked their advancement.
Revealing their ranking, The magenta-haired beauty closed her eyes and summoned her beast soul, as a black light flickered around her and materialized into a white beast.
It was a fierce but massive creature of two meters in size with a thick white coat of fur and piercing blue eyes. It had powerful jaws and razor-sharp claws making it look like a formidable foe But despite its fearsome appearance, this creature was a mount beast soul.
The beast was not as imposing as the one Helia had but it looked more terrifying than the laughing alligator that they had fought recently. The creature was still a black-stage mount beast soul so its speed would be good enough for traveling on this unknown island.
"Hey Frosty, get down so we can climb up," Nyla said to the beast as if it was the cute puppy that she had adopted.
The beast innocently crouched down on the ground like an obedient good kid, wiggling its tail and showing its loyalty.
The boy didn't expect a black-stage white wolf to wiggle their tail like a docile dog, he found it quite amusing but he kept his mouth sealed and let the girl have her happy moment.
Nyla turned her head towards Rio, giving him a bright smile she was proud of taming the savage beast which the girl gained while hunting in the corrupted land with Helia. 𝘧𝚛𝗲𝘦𝚠𝙚𝙗𝙣o𝙫𝗲𝚕.𝐜o𝓂
Although it was natural for a beast soul to be loyal to its master but this was her very first mount so she was joyous in her heart. Additionally, the girl was going to ride it with her beloved Boy so her happiness soared to the next level.
Rio returned her a faint smile, patting her head before gesturing her to climb up.
"Yes, sweetie," Nyla nodded, kicking the ground beneath her foot and rising in the air as she landed on the back of the Frosty mount.
Rio also mounted up right behind her, using the [Devlin Movement Technique] which instantly teleported him to the top of Frosty's back.
This was a better choice to travel across the island instead of sprinting the landscape using his thunder-enchanted speed which would eventually be tiresome if he carried Nyla along the way.
This time he was riding with his beloved girl so he didn't hesitate, wrapping his hands around her slender waist, making her maiden heart flutter in happiness.
Together, they rode towards the eastern side of the island, Frosty's powerful strides carrying them quickly across the terrain.
On the way, they came across a few purple pit rats, which Rio quickly dispatched before continuing on their journey. He also noticed a few more Wind Slyph in the sky which were hovering around them for a while like the annoying mosquitoes before they left them, finding the duo wasn't doing anything fun to receive their valuable attention.
Nyla and Rio had been riding their beasts for four hours straight, and as the evening hours crept in, they could feel the wind getting cooler and the sun getting lower on the horizon.
