Some people are just naturally filled with a kind of charm. They don’t need to adorn themselves intentionally; just dressing neatly and following the rules can exude an elegance that can’t be ignored.

Jing Haohao was standing under a street lamp at the east entrance of the neighborhood. She was wearing a goose-yellow dress, elegantly draped just below her knees, revealing her shiny and slender legs.
The street light cast a dim yellow glow on her face. Unlike her usual snow-white complexion, it now looked warmer, and she seemed even more beautiful.
Liang Chen, who had originally intended to drive away, inexplicably parked his car on the side of the road, turned off the engine, and admired the delicate figure reflected in the rearview mirror while he took out a cigarette from his pocket.
Before Liang Chen could take more than a couple of puffs from his cigarette, he saw a familiar car slowly approaching from a distance, which then stopped beside Jing Haohao.
Jing Haohao, who had been quiet all along, burst into a lovely smile the moment the driver’s door opened. She took light steps towards the car and then clung onto Shen Liangnian, who had just stepped out.
From a distance, Liang Chen couldn’t hear what the couple was saying. But he could see that instead of getting into the car right away, they embraced and kissed each other for quite a while before Shen Liangnian led Jing Haohao by the hand to the passenger seat.
Shen Liangnian opened the car door for Jing Haohao. She seemed to be saying something to him while smiling brightly before she finally tiptoed to give him a kiss on the cheek, like a dragonfly skimming the surface of water, and only then did she get into Shen Liangnian’s car.
After helping Jing Haohao close the car door, Shen Liangnian walked around the car to get into the driver’s seat. He didn’t rush to start the car but took his time to fasten Jing Haohao’s seat belt. Only then did he slowly drive the car around the entrance of the neighbourhood and leave.
Liang Chen kept staring at the rear-view mirror where Shen Liangnian’s car had long disappeared, maintaining his position all the while.
Only when his phone next to him started ringing did Liang Chen return to reality. Looking at the cigarette in his hand, which had burned down to the butt, he frowned, extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray in the car, picked up the phone, and after seeing that it’s Director Zhang calling, answered without hesitation, even casually asking, “Did you manage to take care of the thing I asked you to do?”
Once Jing Haohao accepts Director Zhang’s movie, their paths will cross more frequently. He didn’t believe she would be able to avoid him.
After a slight pause from Director Zhang on the other end of the line, he cautiously stuttered, “Mr. Liang, I had arranged for Miss Jing to audition on set this morning, but the person in charge at TS Entertainment Company called to say that Miss Jing accidentally fell down the stairs on her way, twisted her foot, and was sent to the hospital. The doctor recommended that she avoid putting any pressure on her ankle for a month. The film is due to start shooting in some days, so…”
As Liang Chen listened, his frown became more severe. In the end, he simply didn’t say anything and hung up the phone.
