Chapter 35

"Why didn't you just say yes?" Sandra scoldingly asked as we were on our way back to our home. My family was angry with me because I didn't agree on the spot.

I merely smiled and replied, "If I leave, who will help you when you return injured?"

"We wouldn't have to hunt if you were to be employed at the mansion!" Sandra said.

"Leave your brother alone, Sandra. We should respect his wishes." Rayla said and I could sense total support from her. Martha was too young to understand the technicalities and was focused on just one thing and that was money.

Julian and Lucas were the same and they agreed with Sandra. It wasn't like Rayla could tell the hidden meaning underneath. She simply agreed with me in support, for no other reason.

"But Mother~~" Sandra said but I cut her off as I said, "Don't worry. I will only think the best for our family. We have a month before I have to answer. after a month, my answer would matter a lot more, okay?"

"What?" Sandra asked.

She was still too young to understand the underlying meaning so I just ignored her and said, "I will finish my town's training tomorrow and then we will go out to hunt. You should all refrain from doing so as well."

"What? Then how will we earn money?" Julian asked.

"It's just for one day," I replied.

"Three." Lucas chimed in and I could understand what he meant. Two days of my awakening and then a day I was asking them to take off. I sighed and said, "Don't worry. When we go the day after tomorrow, we'll make more money than we ever have. Understood?"

Everyone nodded and with Rayla in my support and my sisters agreeing with me out of love, the men of the family had no choice but to agree as well.

With that done, the first and foremost task at hand was to...

[Level 55]

[EXP 3814\5500]

[You have obtained 30 bonus stats]

[All requirements have been met]

[Would you like to choose a class?]

[Yes\No]

As soon as I got home, I went to my room, well shared room with Lucas, but mine nonetheless. I sat cross-legged, which wasn't necessary, but it was just a habit from the world of Ki and opened the system panel.

'Yes.'

As soon as I said 'Yes', the system panel opened up in front of me and various classes were displayed in front of me. There were hundreds of classes, but my class had already been chosen.

There were many strong classes like [Sword Saint], [Weapon Master], [Elemental Lord], and on and on, and just like that, there were many magical classes as well that followed every type of element.

However, in my experience, with the presence of a system that covered the physical aspects of a human being, I believed there was no other class better than this one.

[Archmage]

[Class rank: SSS]

[Class perks: Gives you affinity with all manners of spells]

Without a second's hesitation, I picked that class. It was the most crucial for a man like me who relied on skills and enchantments a lot.

'Select.'

[Affirmative]

[Class has been selected]

[Class: Archmage]

[All skill effects have been increased by 100%]

[All skill cooldown has been decreased by 100%]

[You can now master all elemental spells]

I sighed and sat back. Granted the perks of this class were a lot less, and if I wanted to go on a mage's path, there were many others just as good as this class as well.

However, there were a number of reasons why I had selected this class.

The number one reason was simply because an archmage had no spell affinity. For example, if a holder of the class [Fire lord] wanted to use spells of ice, he wouldn't be able to. Granted, their fire skills would be unrivaled that even ten archmages wouldn't be able to stand against him in terms of fire spells.

But, the class archmage, while having a lot less perks and damage, offered something very crucial to a mage. Time. If I were to select the class [Fire lord], then the fireball skill's effect would have increased by 1000%, instead of 100% like in the case of this class, but if the fire-attributed skill, such as [Meteor], had a cooldown, then the cooldown would have remained the same.

However, with the class [Archmage], I could cast the same spell two times. Do it once in the case of any other class and you're done but in the case of an [Archmage], one could recover a lot faster and could cast the spell, or in this instance, the skill, once again.

However, even that was not the biggest reason why I had done so. Elemental affinity, cool down or whatever else it was, was nothing but a technical advantage. I didn't require such advantages.

To be honest, it was nothing more than a gamble. To survive in this world, I never needed a class in the first place. As long as my stats could support it, my natural skills were in millions and I only required mana to perform them, or not even mana in some cases.

The gamble I took was a very simple one.

If everything controlled by the system belonged to the system, then there was a chance that a loophole I had thought of before would apply in this case as well.

[All skill cooldowns have been halvened]

[State of completion's cooldown has been decreased by twelve hours]

'Yes!'

I so desperately wanted to jump and yell but I didn't want to be painted as a lunatic. First and foremost, it was time to use this loophole in the form of a blessing to the fullest.

It was still ten in the morning which meant if I were to activate my state, I would still have about two hours before a new day began to activate this state again.

What it simply meant was; Time to have some fun.
