My Young Husband, The Assasin-Chapter 62: Aira’s Fight for Life
Chapter 62 - Aira's Fight for Life
"My baby..." Aira groaned in pain, clutching her stomach, which was in excruciating pain.
"Issei-kun, take Aira to the hospital now!!" Saki shouted, enduring the pain in her shoulder.
"But you're injured," Issei replied.
"Hurry, take Aira to the hospital! Don't worry about me!!!!" Saki pleaded desperately, as Issei was the only one who could drive the car.
Reluctantly, Issei carried Aira in his arms and rushed her to the hospital as Saki had requested. Meanwhile, Arashi was busy wrapping Saki's shoulder wound with a torn piece of cloth as a temporary measure until they could get proper medical treatment at the hospital.
Traces of Aira's fresh blood stained the corridor leading to the elevator and down to the basement floor. People who accidentally crossed paths with Issei were shocked, staring in fear at Aira's blood-covered state. Issei drove Renji's sports car to the hospital after Aunt Emiko handed him the car keys.
Aunt Emiko, representing Renji, asked the building management to mobilize all their staff to clean up the bloodstains before the situation caused a bigger commotion.
Throughout the journey to the hospital, Aira continued to moan in pain, breaking out in cold sweat. Not only that, she kept bleeding, and it was clear that she was experiencing severe bleeding due to the fall earlier. Issei was terrified and hoped Aira could hold on until they reached the hospital.
When they arrived at the hospital, Issei got out of the car and carried Aira in his arms. He was immediately met by two medical staff who rushed over in a panic, bringing a stretcher.
"Please place her here," one of the medical staff requested.
Issei complied, laying Aira down on the stretcher. Aira was then quickly wheeled into the Emergency Room (ER), located not far from the entrance, to the left of the main door.
While Aira was in the ER, Issei sat and waited. A few minutes later, Fujin and the others arrived, except for Saki, who was receiving treatment for her wound, accompanied by Arashi. Issei actually wanted to check on his fiancée. Still, Ryuji told him that Saki had asked Issei to wait for Aira because she felt fine and her injury wasn't too serious.
After receiving treatment, Saki and Arashi would come soon, so Issei didn't need to worry. Issei was sitting in front of the ER door, looking somewhat disheveled and traumatised. His clothing and hands were stained with blood. The deep red colour and pungent metallic smell were unmistakable, and they made him nauseous and dizzy.
At a glance, anyone who saw Issei's condition would be horrified, thinking he was seriously injured. But the truth was that the blood on him belonged to someone else—Aira. There was a horrifying story behind the bloodstains on Issei's clothes, one that left him and those around him deeply shocked.
The doctor treating Aira came out of the ER with a worried expression, causing Issei and the others who had come to the hospital to feel extremely anxious. They stood in front of the ER, half-dead with worry, fearing the worst about Aira's condition.
Issei, the one who had carried Aira to the hospital, immediately ran over to the doctor and asked anxiously, "How is she, Doctor?" His voice was filled with panic.
"Who is her husband?" the doctor asked back with a serious expression.
Issei shook the doctor's shoulders in a panic, "What's wrong, Doctor? Is something critical happening to her?" he asked fearfully.
"We need to perform an emergency C-section immediately, and the procedure can only proceed if the husband or a family member signs the consent form for the surgery," the doctor explained the situation.
"I'm her family. Let me sign the form," Issei offered, introducing himself as Aira's family in place of Renji, who wasn't there. The doctor immediately ordered a nurse to bring the consent form for the surgery to be signed.
"Please sign here," the nurse requested politely, handing over the consent form and a pen.
Issei's blood-stained hands trembled violently as he held the pen. His eyes even welled up with tears, holding back his sadness. Still, he was determined and didn't hesitate for a second to sign the consent form for the C-section to save Aira and her baby.
"Please save both of them, Doctor," he pleaded, placing all his hopes in the doctor's hands.
The young doctor gave a faint smile, "As doctors, we have to help every patient, but we're not God. Life and death are in God's hands. We can only do our best. You should pray to God and hope the surgery goes well," he said, offering advice and encouragement.
"Yes," Issei replied weakly.
"Just pray more," he said, patting Issei's right shoulder before heading to the operating room. The doctor in charge gave instructions to the nurses to immediately take Aira to the operating room.
Several nurses came out of the emergency room, pushing a hospital bed where Aira lay, grimacing in pain. Soft groans escaped her lips as cold sweat drenched her entire body, clearly showing the immense pain she felt in her abdomen.
Saki, who had just finished receiving treatment, rushed to the emergency room with Arashi, only to be shocked at the sight of Aira being taken away by the nurses.
Instinctively, Saki ran toward Aira, trying to see her condition, but she was blocked by medical staff who asked her not to get in the way.
"Aira!!!" Saki screamed hysterically.
Issei held Saki back, keeping her close so she wouldn't run after them. "Settle down, love. Allow everything to be done by the doctors."
"Where are they taking Aira?" Saki cried, her cheeks already streaked with tears.
"Aira needs to undergo a C-section to be able to save her and the baby," said Issei with remorse.
Saki broke down even more, burying her face in Issei's chest, blaming herself—because of her, Aira had fallen and suffered severe bleeding.

Renji's body froze, his eyes widening in shock as he heard the news from Aunt Emiko that afternoon. The shock was so overwhelming that the books he had been carrying from the library slipped from his hands and scattered across the floor.
Without a second thought, Renji panicked and ran toward the school parking lot. He didn't care that school wasn't over yet or that there were still classes to attend—thoughts of Aira's condition consumed his mind.
"Hey, Renji!!!" a teacher shouted, catching him sneaking out of school.
But Renji didn't care about the teacher's yelling. The only thing on his mind was getting to the hospital as fast as possible. Fortunately, he had ridden his motorcycle to school today since Fujita was out of town for work.
His sudden escape in the middle of school hours became a shocking piece of gossip, especially since Renji had always been known as a model student who never skipped class.

Everyone sat weakly in front of the operating room, praying for Aira and her baby's safety. Saki couldn't stop crying as she clung to Issei, who was still in his blood-stained clothes. She wasn't the only one—Keiko was also crying, though she tried her best to hold it in.
"It's okay to cry, don't be embarrassed," Ryuji said, understanding Keiko's feelings. "You can lean on my shoulder... or if you prefer, you can cry in my arms," he added, trying to take advantage of the situation.
Surprisingly, it worked. Keiko threw herself at him and hugged him. "Let me borrow your chest for a bit," she murmured, her eyes glistening with tears.
"Use it as much as you want," Ryuji replied happily, holding her close.
Meanwhile, in the corner, three single guys watched Ryuji with annoyed expressions. One of them scoffed, "What a shameless flirt."
"Just admit you're jealous, Fujin," Ryuji grinned mischievously. Fujin clicked his tongue in irritation and looked away, unwilling to watch Ryuji's lovey-dovey act.
"You can lean on my chest and cry if you want," Shintaro offered, trying to cheer Fujin up. Fujin just gave him a cold, uninterested stare.
"Or maybe you'd prefer a hug from me?" Arashi added, making things worse.
Fujin wanted to scream in frustration, but this was a hospital—he couldn't be noisy, especially in such a tense situation. Why did his two ridiculous friends always find ways to annoy him? If only Rika were here, maybe he'd feel better.
Just then, the operating room doors swung open, and the lead surgeon stepped out. Immediately, all of Aira's friends rushed forward in panic.

"The patient is experiencing severe bleeding," the doctor explained, describing Aira's condition in the operating room.
"Please, save Aira," Saki pleaded, panicked and sad.
"We will do our best. Is there anyone here who is a blood relative of the patient? We need to perform a blood transfusion immediately because the hospital's blood supply is currently empty."
"What's her blood type?" Issei asked, just as panicked as Saki.
"The patient's blood type is A. Does anyone here have the same blood type?" the doctor asked in return, as the patient's blood type is not considered rare
"Take my blood," Arashi immediately volunteered, as his blood type is A. The doctor was momentarily surprised, then looked Arashi up and down, focusing on the piercings on his lips and nose.
"No, we can't," the doctor firmly rejected, based on Arashi's appearance.
"Why are you rejecting me?" Arashi asked angrily, upset that his good intentions were being dismissed.
The young doctor sighed softly, then looked at Arashi meaningfully. "When was the last time you got a piercing on your body other than your ears?"
"A few months ago. What does that have to do with anything?" Arashi asked back, feeling confused and not understanding.
"If you've had a piercing anywhere on your body other than your ears, you can only donate blood twelve months after the piercing," the doctor explained, hoping the eccentric-looking young man would understand. After hearing the doctor's explanation, Arashi stepped back, unable to argue or protest.
"Then take my blood. I happen to have blood type A," Shintaro offered after Arashi.
"No, we can't," the doctor firmly rejected again.
"This time, why not?" Saki asked, feeling curious, especially since the situation was critical.
"Do you have any tattoos on your body?" the doctor asked Shintaro.
"Yes, I do. What does that have to do with it?" Shintaro replied casually, then asked.
"Of course, it's the same case as with piercings. If it hasn't been twelve months since you got the tattoo, you're not allowed to donate blood," the doctor explained, hoping that laypeople like them would understand.
"Is there no one else here with blood type A?" Everyone except Arashi and Shintaro looked dejected and shook their heads, as most of them had relatively rare blood types, such as AB.
Two people had blood type AB—Issei and Ryuji—while Saki and Fujin had blood type B. As for Keiko, they didn't know because they had never asked.
"What do we do now?" Saki murmured, feeling sad, panicked, and scared because they hadn't been able to find someone who could donate blood.
"I can. My blood type is A," Keiko suddenly spoke up amidst the confusion and panic.
It wasn't that Keiko had been hiding the fact that her blood type matched Aira's. In truth, Keiko was extremely afraid and had a severe phobia of needles due to a traumatic experience in her childhood. But now was not the time for Keiko to be afraid. To save her Lady from death, she would do anything, even if it meant facing her greatest fear.
"Then please come with me."
"Okay."
