Chapter 325 - 325: Class Assignment

"Here is the registration form. Fill it out and give it to me."

Kawakaze's office was livelier than usual today—it was typically quiet and empty. As he spoke, he handed the two registration forms to Duy and Kurenai's mother. Nearby, the three children chatted happily, munching on snacks.

As long as duels weren't mentioned, Kakashi still considered Guy a good friend.

"Okay."

Duy and Kurenai's mother took the registration forms and began filling them out on the coffee table. Meanwhile, Kawakaze picked up a form and started completing Kakashi's personal details and family background.

Children from ninja clans generally had some foundational training, so their education would naturally progress differently from that of children from non-ninja families. It wasn't a matter of discrimination; for ordinary families, this approach was often seen as beneficial.

Before long, all three forms were completed. Kawakaze gathered them and stepped out to hand them to the staff waiting outside.

"Thank you for your hard work," he said, patting the instructor on the shoulder in a friendly manner.

"You're welcome, Lord Kawakaze. If there's nothing else, I'll get back to work," the instructor replied, taking the forms. He had a packed schedule ahead of him.

"Alright, go on," Kawakaze said, waving him off. He watched the instructor disappear around the corner, then returned to his office.

"Where do I pay the registration fee?" Kurenai's mother asked, pulling out her wallet.

Seeing this, Duy reached into his pocket, pulling out some money.

The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.

"No need for that. I've got it covered," Kawakaze said, reclining in his chair with a relaxed air.

"Really, don't worry about it," he added, waving off the gesture dismissively.

"Well, if you insist," Duy said with a smile, slipping the money back into his pocket. The tuition for the Ninja Academy wasn't much, and he knew there was no sense in arguing over such a trivial amount.

"Bring Ginji over to my house for dinner sometime," Kurenai's mother said casually.

She and the Hatake family were practically in-laws, so Kawakaze paying Kurenai's tuition wasn't out of the ordinary. Refusing his help too firmly would have come across as impolite.

"Alright, I'll have a drink with Shinku when I do," Kawakaze replied without hesitation.

"Is there anything else?"

Kurenai's mother, not being a ninja herself, wasn't familiar with the details of the admissions process.

"That's about it. After registration, you'll be assigned to a class in the afternoon. Just come tomorrow to register," Kawakaze explained, clearly well-versed in the process. After all, if he didn't know these things, he'd be a pretty incompetent principal.

"Oh, I see."

She nodded, swallowing the rest of her thoughts. She didn't need to worry about class placement—Kawakaze would handle it. The real question lingered: would Kakashi and Kurenai end up in the same class?

As it turned out, things went just as she expected.

That afternoon, she visited the Academy to check the class placement notice. There it was: the names Kurenai, Kakashi, and Might Guy were all listed under Osamu Suzuki's class. She didn't bother looking at the rest of the list—this was enough for her.

The next day, Kakashi arrived early and waited outside Kawakaze's door.

With a creak, the door opened, and Kawakaze stepped out.

"You little brat, do you expect your uncle to be on time?" Kawakaze asked, completely unbothered by his own lack of punctuality as he patted Kakashi on the head.

"Here's your breakfast."

Kakashi handed over a packed meal, knowing that if he waited for Kawakaze to eat at home, they'd definitely be late. This guy had never once been on time for school in all these years!

"Thanks," Kawakaze said with a smile, taking the breakfast with one hand. With the other, he held Kakashi's small hand.

"With Uncle here, being late is impossible."

As soon as he spoke, the two vanished from the spot and reappeared in Kawakaze's office.

The Flying Thunder God Technique was undeniably fast, second only to Kamui when it came to hurrying.

"We're already at the Academy," Kawakaze said, beaming with pride. He leisurely sat in his office chair and began eating his breakfast.

"You're the best, Uncle," Kakashi said with a perfunctory tone, rolling his eyes as he turned away.

"I'm going to class. Bye."

Without looking back, he walked out of the office.

"Do you know where your classroom is?" Kawakaze asked casually, not bothering to get up.

"I'll ask for directions," Kakashi's voice called back as it faded away.

On his way, Kakashi asked a faculty member and soon arrived at the classroom door. The sign read "Osamu Suzuki Class."

Kakashi glanced up to confirm and then walked in.

The classroom wasn't full yet—fewer than ten students were present. He scanned the room but didn't spot any familiar faces. It seemed Kurenai and Guy hadn't arrived yet.

His entrance didn't draw much attention, so he quietly chose a seat in the back corner. Resting his chin in his hand, he let his mind drift.

This nonchalant posture caught the attention of a few girls in the room. One of them, a girl with purple stripes on her cheeks, hesitated before gathering the courage to approach him. She felt lucky to be in a class with mostly ninja children despite coming from a civilian family.

Before she could take a step, a boy appeared beside her.

"Hello, my name is Obito. Obito Uchiha. May I sit here?"

The boy wore goggles and had a hint of shyness in his expression, clearly summoning his own courage to speak.

"Hello, my name is Rin Nohara," she replied with a gentle smile. "Nice to meet you."

Rin gestured for Obito to sit down, her previous thoughts of approaching Kakashi slipping away. After all, they were all in the same class—it was only a matter of time before she got to know everyone.

"Were you just looking at that guy?" Obito asked, pointing his finger toward Kakashi. Rin quickly pressed his hand down.

"No, I was just casually looking at my future classmates," she said, worried that Kakashi might notice Obito's gesture, which would seem rude.

"That guy is called Kakashi Hatake," Obito continued, speaking more to himself. "The eldest son of the Hatake Clan, and the principal is his uncle."

As a member of the Uchiha Clan, Obito knew quite a bit about Kakashi.

"So the Hokage is his aunt?" Rin's eyes lit up with excitement. Her dream was to become as powerful a ninja as Tsunade.

"Yes," Obito replied simply, his tone showing no suspicion of Rin's motives. To him, her admiration for Tsunade was sincere.

"I want to become a ninja as powerful as Lady Hokage in the future," Rin declared, her voice full of determination.

"You can definitely do it," Obito said, smiling as he encouraged her.

The two continued their lively conversation, forming the first bonds of their friendship.

Meanwhile, Kakashi didn't have to wait long before Kurenai arrived. As soon as she entered the classroom, she spotted him and skipped over to sit beside him.

"You're here early," Kurenai said, pulling a candy from her pocket and popping it into Kakashi's mouth.

"It's fine. I've never been much of a morning person," Kakashi said, taking the candy. Though, in truth, he was rarely ever late.

"Heh, I almost didn't get up. My dad had to carry me," Kurenai confessed, her cheeks turning pink with embarrassment.

"Lazybones," Kakashi teased, lightly scratching her nose with a soft, indulgent smile.

A few minutes later, Guy entered the classroom. His well-fitting green leotard immediately drew the attention of everyone present.

Guy, unfazed by the stares, confidently walked to the front of the podium.

"My name is Might Guy, and I will definitely become a powerful ninja in the future. Welcome to challenge me!" he declared, striking a signature pose, complete with his big grin and thumbs-up.

With that, the entire class now knew exactly who he was. Feeling satisfied, Guy went to sit next to Kakashi and Kurenai, clearly pleased with himself.

"What do you think? Was I cool just now?" Guy asked eagerly, waiting for praise from his friends.

"Guy, you're amazing," Kurenai said, genuinely impressed by his fearless behavior.

Kakashi, on the other hand, covered his face with a look of helplessness. He was at a loss for words when it came to Guy.

"This is nothing," Guy said, turning to Kakashi with a look of determination. "Kakashi, when should we have our first duel now that we've started school?"

He extended the invitation with surprising politeness, even letting Kakashi choose the time.

"Duel your big head, you idiot. I don't have time for that," Kakashi shot back bluntly, rejecting him without a second thought.

"I'll wait until you have time," Guy said cheerfully, already expecting such a response. He showed no disappointment.

"Currently, the score between you two is 20:0," Kurenai chimed in. As the self-appointed referee, she remembered every result of their previous duels.

Guy could imitate almost everything Kakashi did, but he couldn't truly master the same techniques. The results of their matches were always predictable.

"I will definitely defeat Kakashi," Guy vowed, clenching his fist with fierce determination.

Kakashi glanced at him but said nothing. That glance, however, seemed to say it all.

"What's that look in your eyes?" Guy asked, his dissatisfaction clear. Without hesitation, he reached out and began tickling Kakashi's waist.

The ever-composed Kakashi instantly broke down, his aloof demeanor shattering.

The three of them devolved into playful chaos, with Kurenai caught in the middle, trying to keep some semblance of order.

They only stopped their antics when the Sensei finally walked into the room.
