Chapter 367 - 367: The Genius

"Go on, set a good example for your younger brother. There are plenty of younger siblings enrolling today, so don't let them down," Kawakaze said, taking a sip of milk before turning his focus back to finishing his rice.

"Brother, you're the best," Ginji exclaimed with a broad smile, his tone overly enthusiastic. "You'll shine on the stage when the time comes. I can point to you and tell everyone, 'This is my brother.' Let them all be envious." As he spoke, he pushed a shumai into Kakashi's bowl, grinning ear to ear.

"Well, okay then," Kakashi replied after a brief hesitation. How could he disappoint his younger brother?

"That's the spirit!" Sakumo said, his smile returning. "Have you finished preparing your speech?"

Kakashi awkwardly rubbed his nose. "Not yet. I'll let Kurenai help me figure it out later." He wasn't enthusiastic about this kind of showy event. That sort of thing was more suited to someone like Guy, though unfortunately, Guy wasn't qualified enough yet.

"You, you just know how to trouble Kurenai," Nayuki finally interjected with a slightly teasing tone. "Sending a young girl to help you? Aren't you embarrassed?"

"Auntie, you're wrong," Ginji chimed in, his mischievous nature shining through. "What girl? That's my sister-in-law!" His cheeky comment drew laughter from everyone at the table.

"Eat your food," Kakashi said, his face flushing slightly as he stuffed a bun into Ginji's mouth to silence him.

"I was telling the truth," Ginji protested after removing the bun, taking a big bite and chewing with a satisfied grin.

"It's the truth, it's the truth," he repeated between bites.

"Eat up, it's almost time," Kawakaze said, finishing his last bun in three quick bites. He wiped his mouth with a napkin and stood up.

"Wait for me! I'll be ready in a second!" Ginji said, hurriedly stuffing his mouth and concentrating on finishing his meal.

"Don't rush, you'll choke," Nayuki said with a gentle smile as she got up to pour him another glass of milk.

"Thank you, Auntie," Ginji said, tilting his head back to swallow his food and quickly downing the milk. At last, he was done eating.

"Let's go, you two," Kawakaze said, stepping out with Kakashi and Ginji trailing behind him.

"Woof woof woof!" Shiromaru barked excitedly as soon as they exited the restaurant.

The seven-year-old dog, though fully grown, was an impressive sight. Standing over a meter tall, he was larger than even Onimaru. Shiromaru's sleek, pure white coat gave him an air of majesty and striking beauty.

"Shiromaru wants to go too, so let's take him with us."

Ginji rolled over and sat on Shiromaru's back. The two had a close bond, their camaraderie evident in the way they interacted.

"Just bring him along."

"But keep him quiet when we get to the Academy. Don't scare the kids,"

As Kakashi gave him an inquiring look, Kawakaze sighed but didn't refuse.

Instead, he greeted Shiromaru with a casual, "Come on."

"Woof woof~"

Shiromaru barked in response, nodding as he carried Ginji on his back, walking beside Kakashi.

"Onimaru's getting so fat, he's practically a pig," Kawakaze grumbled as they walked. "Doesn't even bother to exercise. Still, I'll give him credit. He's raised that pup well and lived quite the cushy life over the years."

"Woof woof~"

Shiromaru barked again, his tone carrying an unknown meaning.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kawakaze asked, glancing at Kakashi for a translation.

With a small chuckle, Kakashi replied, "He says his dad is afraid of you."

"Afraid of me?" Kawakaze paused, then smirked. "Do I even still feel like eating him?" He had long since forgotten the psychological torment he'd supposedly inflicted on Onimaru in the past.

"You never know," Ginji quipped, joining in on the joke without missing a beat.

"You little..." Kawakaze slapped Ginji lightly on the back of the head in mock reprimand.

"Ouch~" Ginji whined dramatically, though he immediately leaned fully against Shiromaru's back, wearing an expression of pure contentment.

"Lazy as always. You don't even want to walk a few steps," Kawakaze said with a helpless smile.

The trio, accompanied by Shiromaru, continued on their way to the Ninja Academy.

When they reached the Academy entrance, they were greeted by the sight of a bustling crowd and the lively sounds of chatter and laughter.

"There seem to be even more people this year," Kakashi observed, noting the increase compared to previous years, let alone when he had first enrolled.

"That's only natural," Kawakaze said casually. "With no wars, the population keeps growing. We might even have to start limiting births one day."

Kakashi raised an eyebrow, unsure whether to take Kawakaze's remark seriously, but the other man didn't seem to care if he was understood.

Konoha still had a long way to go before it faced any kind of population crisis.

"What do you mean, restrict births?"

This question immediately caught Ginji's attention.

"It means one child per family, with a fine for having more," Kawakaze explained succinctly. He decided not to elaborate on harsher measures, thinking they might be too much for Ginji to comprehend.

"A fine, huh," Ginji mused. "That's okay. Our family is rich. Kakashi and I can have as many children as we want in the future."

His spoiled remark drew a knowing look from Kakashi, who stifled a laugh. He could already see trouble brewing.

"Are you itching for a beating?" Kawakaze asked, his tone carrying a playful threat as he picked Ginji up like a kitten and plopped him onto Shiromaru's back.

"No, I'm not itching! Father, I was wrong!" Ginji yelped, hastily covering his bottom. "I won't have any children!"

"That's not happening either. How am I supposed to get grandchildren if you don't have any?" Kawakaze was gearing up to continue his lecture when a gentle female voice interrupted.

"Auntie Pakura, help me!" Ginji yelled, completely abandoning his pride to call for aid.

Pakura, amused, covered her mouth as she chuckled. "Auntie can't save you. Why not ask Satsuki instead?"

At that moment, Satsuki peeked out from behind Orochimaru. Her soft, sweet voice cut through the tension. "Uncle Kawakaze, can you please let Ginji down?"

Kawakaze immediately softened. "Of course I can." He tossed Ginji aside unceremoniously, reaching out to hug Satsuki.

"My daughter!"

But Orochimaru intervened, swiftly picking Satsuki up before Kawakaze could even reach her.

"Stingy," Kawakaze muttered, retracting his hand with an exaggerated pout. He rolled his eyes and gave up, deciding that this particular "Daughter-Simp" was beyond redemption.

Moments later, three figures dressed in green—one adult and two children—approached. Leading the group was Might Duy, accompanied by his sons, Guy and Kai.

"They're all here," Duy remarked. "Kakashi, Ginji, Satsuki."

"Good morning, Duy," Kawakaze greeted as the adults exchanged pleasantries, leaving the five children to mingle.

After some time, another familiar face arrived. Fugaku Uchiha led a young boy into the group.

"Lord Kawakaze," Fugaku greeted with a respectful nod.

"Who's this?" Kawakaze asked, noting the boy's unfamiliar face. He couldn't recall Fugaku having a son of this age, especially since Fugaku wasn't even married yet.

"This child is a prodigy, a once-in-a-century genius even among the Uchiha," Fugaku said with pride, ruffling the boy's hair. "His parents passed away early, and I happened to be free today, so I brought him to enroll."

It was obvious to anyone that Fugaku was immensely pleased with the boy, his satisfaction evident in his beaming smile.
