Chapter 2220.2: Origination Mountain

“I’d always thought that our young prince was just slightly less than Nalan Tu. Judging from the situation, Nalan Tu can’t even begin to compare!” An awakened cultivator who’d come with Yan Beifei swallowed hard.

Yan Beifei and Nalan Tu were the twin pride and joys of the Origin Sect. They were both premier geniuses, but Yan Beifei was a hair weaker than Nalan Tu due to his younger age. With Yan Beifei’s full strength on display, however, he was plainly a perverse genius many times stronger than Nalan Tu.

“Lu Yun can stand toe-to-toe with the young prince, no wonder His Majesty is so wary of Lu Tianling!” Another awakened cultivator looked deeply at Lu Yun. “No matter what the result of this battle is, we must leave and notify our lord!”

……

Lu Yun and Yan Beifei both took a step back in the air.

“You can block my Void Shift…” Yan Beifei's expression changed. “I’ve underestimated you.”

“But I haven’t underestimated you. A cultivator who’s comprehended part of the laws of the void does indeed have some skill to his name.” A small smile flashed across Lu Yun’s face—he’d begun to comprehend some of the methods contained in the Nine Oscillations of the Heavenly Sword.

The sword method was greater than the Eighteen Cerulean Sword Dragons and lacked definitive moves. It was one that could be combined and deployed at the same time with other sword techniques. He’d just used it in conjunction with Fire Slaughter, creating a joint move that was more than double the strength of the first stroke of the Nine Oscillations of the Heavenly Sword.

“Then now, the game is over.” Killing intent rose from Lu Yun’s body as Immortals Forbidden disappeared, replaced by a jade-green immortal sword.

“You’re finally willing to use immortal weapons, huh?” Yan Beifei took a deep breath and locked his gaze on Lu Yun.

“First stroke of the Nine Oscillations of the Heavenly Sword, Wood Slaughter!” Lu Yun roared and sent a burst of light from the jade-green sword. A crescent of jade-green light that rivaled the earlier Fire Slaughter hurtled toward Yan Beifei with domineering killing intent.

Having taken root in Lu Yun’s body, the Builder Tree had produced a sapling that bestowed a wood spirit root to the young man—an empyrean wood spirit root!

Thus, his moves of Fire and Wood Slaughter were the strongest that the Five Elements of Absolute Slaughter could bring to bear.

Yan Beifei gravely considered the looming attack and waved his immortal sword in return, sending out rays of purple light.

“Void Fissure!”

Humm!

A crack in the void a meter long grew beneath the sword, a direct answer to Wood Slaughter. Yan Beifei no longer nursed the idea of capturing Lu Yun alive—he wanted to kill the young man where they stood!

Hummm!

Two terrifying sword techniques clashed into each other, creating a tremendous shockwave. The formation that sealed off the void splintered and the awakened cultivators in charge of maintaining it paled with dismay. They scattered in all directions.

Some that didn’t run in time were churned to pieces by the horrific ripples and left with only their immortal souls.

Bam!

The first rank immortal sword in Lu Yun’s hands shattered to pieces.

“Second stroke of the Nine Oscillations of the Heavenly Sword, Fire Slaughter!”

A blazing sun burst forth and rose high over the assembly, throwing off boundless radiance. Immortals Forbidden had reappeared in Lu Yun’s hand at some point. This instance of Fire Slaughter was more than five times stronger than the one earlier due to being overlaid with the first stroke. Wood stoked fire, so the combination of both increased the attack to incredible heights!

The ponderous sun in the air paused for less than a thousandth of a breath before it landed on Yan Beifei.

The latter’s breathing hitched and he stared fixedly at the sun growing larger in his line of vision. Time seemed to stop; ruthless killing intent locked onto him. He would be doomed if he wavered or sought to evade the attack.

Yan Beifei’s purple immortal sword groaned, thin cracks snaking over its blade.

“Void Fissure!” he finally gave voice to an inhuman howl and spat out blood intermixed with spittle. Beads of blood and sweat dotted his skin.

Bam!

His mid immortal rank flying sword exploded into pieces and melted into the void as motes of lilac light. The void burst open into a black hole yawning in front of Yan Beifei. The blazing sun smashed into the hole.

KABOOM!

A tremendous aura washed over everyone as the power of Fire Slaughter, even when removed, still made hearts quail. Yan Beifei spewed out a mouthful of brilliant essence blood and flew backward, breaking uncountable numbers of bones in his body.

“The third stroke of the Nine Oscillations of the Heavenly Sword, Eighteen Cerulean Sword Dragons!” came Lu Yun’s voice again. He gripped his sword with both hands and transformed into a crimson dragon of sword light almost three hundred meters long.

He melded into the void and hovered in and out of sight. The gargantuan body twisted with palpitating killing intent and pounced on the yet reeling Yan Beifei.

The young man was nearly scared out of his wits to see such a massive being bearing down on him, but he didn’t try to stop his momentum. Instead, Yan Beifei grit his teeth and formed hand seals.

“I summon my personal image, Origination Mountain!” The image of a mountain three thousand meters tall appeared over his head, as weighty as an entire world. Instead of protecting its bearer, it flung itself toward the dragon of sword light.

BAM!!

Yan Beifei’s image of heaven and earth crashed into Lu Yun’s Eighteen Cerulean Sword Dragons. It was Lu Yun’s turn to feel blood well up in the back of his throat and vomit scarlet liquid. He was thrown out of his connection with the Eighteen Cerulean Sword Dragons and flew backward.

“Origination Mountain!” Lu Yun nearly lost his mind on the spot. His jaw dropped at the massive mountain’s image.

Origination Mountain was the foremost divine mountain in the world of immortals. Its profound mysteries went beyond comprehension and it rivaled a connate treasure. It’d existed for as long as the world did, and there were people who said that it would yet remain if the world of immortals was no longer.

Origination Mountain symbolized the world of immortals, but here it was, and as someone’s image of heaven and earth!

“Young lord!” A host of awakened cultivators answering to the Origin King rushed to Yan Beifei. They poured a varied assortment of healing pills and medicines into his mouth—Yan Beifei’s injuries healed at a rate visible to the naked eye.

“Lu Yun, I thought I was the ancestor of playing a pig to eat the tiger, but I almost became a real pig in front of you!” Yan Beifei wiped away blood from the corner of his mouth and raised up the mountain with his hand.

He normally kept his full abilities strictly under wraps and presented himself as an ordinary genius of Great Xia. He was a hair weaker than Nalan Tu, a position that brought him neither respect nor contempt. It was the best way to protect himself and prevent others from coming for his head.

The fame and esteem of the Origin Sect’s younger generation was concentrated on Nalan Tu. It was an arrangement perfectly fine for Yan Beifei as few of the perverse geniuses in Great Xia and the endless worlds could truly come into their power.

“You’re the first cultivator to force me into these straits…” Yan Beifei’s injuries were half healed after taking the concoction of pills and medicines. His true origin operated in a nearly berserk fashion, surging into the image over his head.

He stalked toward Lu Yun, one hand still holding up the mountain image. The aura of Origination Mountain spread in a domineering fashion in all directions.

Lu Yun stood up from the ground, Immortals Forbidden glowing dimly. If it wasn’t for its materials being so supreme, this lower dao rank weapon would’ve been destroyed long ago.

Lu Yun wiped off the corner of his mouth and stared coldly at Yan Beifei. “How do you get your hands on the Origination Mountain?”

He could tell that Yan Beifei had more than refined one portion of the mountain—he owned the entire mountain. Rooted in the world of immortals, Origination Mountain would never leave it. If it was here, then the world of immortals…

Sorrow appeared in Lu Yun’s eyes. Of his three thousand lifetimes, he spent the longest time in the world of immortals. To him, it was his second home.

“Hahaha! I’ll tell you when you’re dead!” Yan Beifei roared with laughter when he saw Lu Yun’s expression, but he remained highly alert. “Die!!”

He crossed his arms and brought the massive mountain down on Lu Yun.

“Do you think you’re the only one with an image of heaven and earth?” Lu Yun barked, manifesting an image of a pagoda over his head. Twenty-seven meters tall, it was an iridescent silver throughout and filled the void with sword qi as soon as it appeared.

Though Origination Mountain loomed over the young man, the sword pagoda prevented it from descending one millimeter downward.

The sword pagoda is on the same level as the dao character. As impressive as Origination Mountain is, it’s just a connate treasure. Lu Yun sneered inwardly while goodwill flowed into his body from the Seal of the Multitude, replenishing his steadily decreasing Hongmeng qi.

Light flared from the pagoda and silver sword radiance burst forth.

“Break!” Lu Yun roared and spun in the air. The sword pagoda spun with him like it was a drill and split the Origination Mountain image apart!

“What?!” A cocky sneer still on his face, Yan Beifei’s expression froze.

Bam!!

His heart shook as his image of heaven and earth exploded.

“Pfft!” Yan Beifei spat out a mouthful of blood and drooped. An image’s destruction also recoiled onto the cultivator. As Yan Beifei reeled with shock, the world in front of him was replaced by rays of silver sword qi before he could do anything else.
