Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement-Chapter 35 I Come to See the Stars
Chapter 35: Chapter 35 I Come to See the Stars
Sophie Smith walked out of the hospital building, reached the bus stop, seemed to remember something, and turned back again.
James Smith hadn’t eaten anything all day, so she wanted to buy him something to eat first.
Carrying a large bag of things, she walked along the road, about to cross the street, when unexpectedly a car suddenly drove up from the opposite side, stopped about ten meters away from her, and a beam of headlights accurately illuminated her, causing her to close her eyes and turn her head away.
After a long while, the light still didn’t move away from her.
Sophie, against the dazzling light, saw through her fingers a tall figure approaching her.
Asher Land!
It was almost a reflex, she turned around, and just as she moved a step, she heard the gloomy voice from behind her.
"Where else do you want to go?"
Already under his nose, and she still wanted to leave? Did this woman deliberately not regard him?
Sophie couldn’t fathom how Asher Land had found her here? It took a three-hour drive from Eastern City to Southern County, and she hadn’t told him her location; how did he find her?
"Why are you here?" Sophie turned around, looking up at this man with a touch of danger under the dark night.
"I’m here to watch the stars, is that not okay?" ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Sophie looked up at the pitch-black sky, fine, he could watch stars or the moon as he wished.
"What are you doing at the hospital? It’s best to tell the truth, if you’re lying to me..." He paused but did not continue.
"My brother injured his hand. Is it wrong for me to be here taking care of him?"
What exactly had she done wrong that required him to interrogate her again and again?
"Did you eat gunpowder today?" Asher Land wasn’t angry, she was the first to dare contradict him, and it was becoming more intense, yet strangely, he allowed her to make a fuss in front of him.
"Yes, I ate gunpowder, so stay away from me!"
She had had enough today; all the pressure and grievances suddenly overwhelmed her heart, and a tear, as large as a bean, slipped from her eye, startling her. She quickly used the back of her hand to wipe it away.
Asher Land grabbed her wrist, his gaze suddenly cold.
"Who bullied you?"
She remained silent.
"Speak!"
His eyes were frighteningly cold, and Sophie couldn’t look him directly in the eye. She tried hard to shake off his hand, but it wouldn’t budge.
The two of them stood frozen like this by the roadside, vehicles passing by kept honking. Finally, she relented.
"My brother hasn’t eaten since he got injured; I have to take him something to eat at the hospital, can you let go?"
Asher Land was slightly stunned, and a few seconds later, he released her hand.
She walked towards the hospital building, but Asher Land followed her.
"What do you want to do?" She kept a wary distance from him.
"Is the hospital run by your family?" He smirked, "Do I need your permission to enter the hospital?"
Sophie rolled her eyes at him; this man was simply childish!
Helplessly, she allowed him to follow, but when they were near the ward door, she insisted he go no further.
"My parents are inside, isn’t it inappropriate for you to follow me further?" She tried to keep her tone calm, "I don’t want you to meet my parents."
Wasn’t he always reminding her to mind her identity? Now, she had noticed.
He sneered, bent down his tall frame, whispered in her ear word by word, "Is it embarrassing to be my kept woman?"
"..."
Is it not embarrassing?
