"Foolish curse caster." The Team A leader of the assailants stated as he took out a relic that looked like a chime.
The chime in the hand of the Team A leader produced a clear sound that reverberated in the entire area. The ones caught in the black thorns were all freed from the suppression of it as the chime created frequencies that dispelled curses. Even the miasma that Hexy controlled was destroyed by just the sound of the chime.
"A holy artifact? Such a thing is very unimpressive." Hexy stated as she dislikes holy artifacts as they do not have a complex spell structure compared to cursed artifacts, but she recognizes the effectiveness of the one that the enemies have brought.
"Clear the area. We are now escaping as our presence has been known. We do not know when more of them will come, and the enemy is not someone we can easily deal with." The Team A leader relayed to his other team members.
"Leader, the door was not cleansed by the chime." One of the assailants stated as they looked at the door and it was still covered in thick dark thorns.

"You will not be getting out as long as I am alive as the curse I placed in the exit is connected to my life. If you want to leave, then you will have to kill me." Hexy stated as she released a curse that manifested as dark gas that went towards the enemies.
"Feat not." The Team A leader stated as he once again activated the chime which released a clear sound that destroyed the miasma of the curse that Hexy created.
Hexy could be seen staring at the man holding the chime and thinking of how she can address that item that counters her. She decided to put the holy artifact to the test as she took out her own weapon that amplifies her curses. Hexy brought out a floating bulb that looked like it was a budding flower.
The weapon she brought out is quite different from one would imagine. It was a green bulb full of thorns on the side. It looked like the flower would prick anyone that touches it as just looking at it can induce fear in sharp objects. The enemies also noticed that the woman they were fighting has just revealed something akin to a weapon which means she was not yet serious before.
"I will need to get serious now as you brought a holy artifact with you. Cirsium, enhance my power! Seed!" Hexy stated as the flower bulb weapon suddenly dropped a seed filled with miasma to the floor.
As soon as the seed dropped to the floor, the dark thorns that were dying because of the holy artifact suddenly gathered beneath Hexy. The thorns merged into a cluster of thorns that Hexy could freely control. She then proceeded to split the area of the room as she needed to protect the king and queen from the enemies.
A wall of dark thorns is created which made it impossible for the assailants to even get near the sleeping king and queen. The flower bulb weapon that Hexy has could be seen have a minor change as small petal tips emerged from it. The enemies did not notice this though as Hexy controlled the dark thorns to also deal with the matter at hand.
The dark thorns became thicker and much more robust compared to earlier. The Team A leader once again used the holy artifact to defend themselves against it, but the dark thorns did not get destroyed or erased immediately. A divine sound barrier prevented the dark thorns from reaching the enemies, but it enabled Hexy to know how the holy artifact precisely operates.
Hexy decided to stress test the power of the barrier by piling up more and more dark thorns. The Team A leader noticed that they cannot be at the mercy of the enemy if they want to live. He commanded two of the assassins to go and kill Hexy while she was busy taking her attention.
The two assassins initially did not want to go but they were compelled to do so. The voice of the Team A leader was absolute, and he cannot be questioned. If they did not listen to him then they would be dead either way which is why they risked their lives for the chance of escaping. The two assassins moved quickly and even evaded some the dark thorns that Hexy launched at them. The two assassins managed to actually get close and were about to be in close proximity with Hexy when she placed her weapon in front of her mouth.
"Pollinate!" Hexy stated as she blew the top part of her flower bulb weapon.
Pink pollen suddenly exploded in front of Hexy which are actually filled with miasma. The two assassins that were the closest to her suddenly dropped to the ground and held their necks. The two squirmed and tried to stand up but they couldn't. The Team A leader immediately used the holy artifact once again to destroy the pollen and it did, but the two assassins did not stop squirming.
"The Curse of Asphyxiation." Hexy whispered as that is the curse she infused the pollen with.
Despite the holy artifact being able to destroy the pollen, the two assassins that were affected by it were successfully affected by the curse. The holy artifact was unable to protect the two assassins from the inside. It was a powerful defensive artifact, but it was only able to protect from outside threats. The two assassins did not squirm for long as they died within minutes of being unable to breathe as the curse used by Hexy was potent.
"They were quite strong individuals. It took them about three minutes to die when it usually only takes 30 seconds." Hexy stated nonchalantly as she took notes of what is happening.
"You witch!" The Team A leader shouted as he charged towards her with the others.
