Chapter 333 - 333: The D Clan’s Invitation

The man in front of him had been discovered by Mio as soon as he arrived on Crow Island.

After all, this was Mio's territory. From time to time, he used his Observation Haki to scan for intruders, and today, it bore fruit. He hadn't expected someone to actually sneak in. To be fair, the guy wasn't weak.

At the very least, he had the strength of a Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral.

Now, covered in blood, the man was lifted by the collar and dangled before Mio.

Looking at him, the man swallowed nervously and said in a resigned tone, "I know I shouldn't have come here, but I had no other choice. Lord Black Crow, can you put me down first?"

With a thud, Mio directly threw the man onto the ground.

Staring coldly at the stranger, Mio said indifferently, "If you don't have a good enough reason, you're not leaving Crow Island."

Cough. The man took a deep breath, then spoke seriously. "Lord Black Crow, my name is Okashi D. Green."

"D?" Mio's eyes narrowed. The D Clan?

"Your purpose," Mio demanded coldly.

This guy's name hadn't made waves on the sea, clearly not a pirate. If someone this strong wasn't active on the seas and came to find Mio of all people, it definitely raised suspicion.

"Lord Black Crow, I believe you know something about the D Clan." Green spread his hands. "To be honest, I really didn't want to come here. It's risky after all. With your strength, you could easily kill me. But we had no choice. You're the most suitable partner for us."

"So, you really are from the D Clan?" Mio smirked.

"Yes."

Green nodded and then said in a deep voice, "Though the D Clan isn't widely known, more than a few people are aware of our existence. We are descendants of the royal family from the kingdom that existed eight hundred years ago. You have Nico Robin aboard your ship—she can likely read the Poneglyphs. She must also know about the ancient grudge between the D Clan and the World Government." novelbuddy.cσ๓

"Go on." Mio raised an eyebrow.

"I've come to propose a partnership on behalf of the D Clan," Green declared solemnly.

"To overthrow the World Government?" Mio's lips curled into a mocking grin.

"That's right." Green didn't flinch at the response.

Mio sneered. "We can cooperate, but you tell me—does the D Clan even qualify?"

"Legends or not, you should understand the foundation of this world: power. No matter how glorious the D Clan once was, that was eight hundred years ago. Now, after centuries of suppression by the World Government, how strong can you really be? If you don't have enough power, what could you possibly offer me?"

Mio didn't care whether this guy was really from the D Clan or not. Someone was clearly backing him. That much was obvious.

Whether it was real or fake didn't matter. If the D Clan truly had strength, Mio wouldn't mind forming an alliance.

Green remained silent for a moment before slowly saying, "Even if we are lacking in brute strength, I believe we have enough to be considered viable partners."

He then took out a letter and handed it to Mio.

"Please take a look, Lord Black Crow. You'll understand."

Mio's eyes flickered as he accepted the letter. His gaze swept over the contents, and surprise flashed across his face, soon buried beneath a calm expression.

Once finished, flames danced from Mio's palm and incinerated the letter.

Then, he looked at Green and said coolly, "The D Clan... impressive. You are indeed qualified. You can go. As for the partnership, I'll consider it."

"Understood. If you decide, contact us through this Den Den Mushi," Green replied, setting down a silver-colored Den Den Mushi before turning to leave.

Mio watched Green's back for a moment before pocketing the Den Den Mushi and turning away, not staying long.

However, his gaze turned cold and calculating. A rebellious grin curved his lips.

"How interesting... the D Clan and the World Government. What a clever little game. Are they truly aiming to topple the World Government? Or... do they simply want to become the next one? But no matter."

Whether it was the D Clan or the World Government, they could not stop him.

Because in the next era, there would only be one name that ruled over it all—

Black Crow.

...

After leaving Crow Island, Green's form transformed into a petite bird and flew high into the sky. A Den Den Mushi was already held near his ear.

An old voice spoke from the other side.

"How did it go?"

"He didn't agree, but he didn't reject us either."

"So there's a chance."

"Yes. But sir, isn't it too dangerous to involve Black Crow? He's powerful, and it's obvious he'll realize we're just using him to borrow strength against the World Government. If he finds out..."

"It doesn't matter. As long as he has ambition, he won't refuse. And when the time comes—even if he's strong—we can still suppress him."

"Yes, sir."

"If he expresses interest in the alliance, have someone contact me."

"Understood. The entire D Clan stands as your unwavering support."

The Den Den Mushi disconnected.

Green glanced back at the rapidly shrinking silhouette of Crow Island before vanishing completely into the sky.

Meanwhile, not long after Green left, Lilith appeared beside Mio. Her eyes were drawn to the tiny form of Mansherry poking her head out of Mio's chest pocket. Lilith couldn't help but reach over to tease the tiny princess, prompting Mansherry to pat her hand with a pout.

After a while, Lilith spoke up.

"Sir, the World Government's people have arrived."

"They actually dared to bring a warship straight into Black Crow Sea. They stirred up quite the commotion along the way—people are starting to wonder if we've struck a deal with the Government and become their lapdogs." Lilith giggled behind her hand.

Upon hearing that, Mio's lips curled into a sneer. "Then let's go take a look. Let's see how many disposable pawns the World Government has thrown at me this time. But no matter who they send, they won't be leaving here alive."

"No... I actually think they may be here to genuinely negotiate," Lilith shook her head with amusement. "They even brought something to show for it."

"Oh?"

"Stussy is onboard the warship. But no one else knows—except us."
