Chapter 2301: Land of Distress

Time gradually passed. On the third day, Qin Nan, and Ji Jinzi reached the inner sector of the Middle Mysterious Realm.

The effects of the seven-colored light were weakened once again. Their speed had slowed down too. Ji Jinzi took out half of the Soul Accumulating Book which she had to follow its guidance.

"The other half is over there!"

Two days later, Ji Jinzi came to a stop with surprise in her eyes.

Qin Nan lifted his gaze and saw three similar pitch-black mountains to their right. They were surrounding a vast land.

The sky had darkened with countless stars hanging in it. Their faint blue light sprinkled down on the land, but for some reason, the light could never reach the land.

Qin Nan could sense an unusual aura surging from the land. It was significantly stronger than the deadly traps they had encountered along their journey.

"Jiaye, isn't this place...the Land of Distress?" Zhou Xundao said.

"It's possible. The Land of Distress used to have two mountains as the boundary that covers a distance of ninety thousand li. It now has three mountains as the boundary covering thirty-three thousand li. It must have evolved over the past tens of thousand years."

Jiaye paused briefly before he added, "Master, you have come to the Land of Distress with Cang and the others when you were a Heaven Highness. This place is extremely dangerous. You were forced to leave after being attacked by a mysterious existence in just half an hour."

"Some Heaven Highnesses tried to explore it too, but they were all killed."

Qin Nan nodded. He was about to continue on his way when someone pulled his right hand. He turned around and asked, "What is it?"

He thought of something and said, "Don't worry, this place might be dangerous, but the Nine Dragons Seal should be able to protect us."

Ji Jinzi collected her thoughts. She said with a complicated look in her eyes, "No, I'm not worried about that."

Qin Nan was stunned, "Then what is it? You will soon find your mother's soul. Shouldn't you be..."

Before he could finish, Ji Jinzi bit her lips and said softly, "Qin Nan, thank you, without you, I will never make it."

Qin Nan said with a smile, "You don't have to thank me."

Ji Jinzi nodded. She let out a deep breath after figuring out something. She said, "Senior Zhou, Senior Jiaye, can you two leave us alone briefly?"

Zhou Xundao and Jiaye wore strange looks on their faces.

"Sure, not a problem," they soon nodded with a smile and faded away.

Qin Nan was confused. What was Ji Jinzi up to now?

Ji Jinzi looked at Qin Nan. She wanted to smile, but she was unable to do so as she was occupying Empress Feiyue's body.

Her eyes suddenly glittered with excitement, leaving Qin Nan in awe.

"Qin Nan, I used to dream of visiting the outside world, but my father never allows me to leave the Heavenly Court. My mother says it's for my own good."

"After I finally have the chance to see the outside world, everything was dark, cold, and dangerous."

"I was overwhelmed by despair, but I never thought I would be reincarnated. Empress Feiyue even gave me the chance to reclaim my will."

"Now, I suddenly discovered that my dream wasn't wrong. The outside world is wonderful."

"Even though the Blue Heavens are full of danger, but the past few days have been fun and exciting for me."

"I know you are being good to me because of Empress Feiyue, but I want to thank you," Ji Jinzi said softly. Her voice was the only sound left.

Qin Nan fell silent. He was having mixed feelings.

"Qin Nan, you might be unaware that Empress Feiyue cares a lot about you. You are the dearest person to her in her life. She wants to marry you and have kids with you."

Qin Nan's heart skipped a beat.

"However, she didn't know how to tell you. She might be cold and imperious on the surface, but she is very thin-skinned. She is totally clueless when it comes to the relationship between a man and a woman too."

"You too should be more proactive as a man."

Ji Jinzi reached out her hand and untied her robe, revealing her pale shoulders and the thin veil inside the robe.

Qin Nan's heart shuddered.

What was Ji Jinzi doing?

"Qin Nan."

Ji Jinzi's face started burning and flushing.

She looked like she had come out of a painting under the mystical light of the stars.

"Empress Feiyue is too shy to do it, so I will lend her a hand today. It's also my gift to you..."

Ji Jinzi grabbed Qin Nan's arms and closed her eyes. She slowly leaned against Qin Nan. Her brows were trembling slightly.

Even though she was acting boldly, she was feeling extremely nervous too.

She never had close contact with a man around her age. The only men she knew were her father, her feather's men, and guards.

Qin Nan was the first and the last male friend she had.

She did not know if she was influenced by Empress Feiyue's memories, or she was having affection toward Qin Nan after staying with him for the past few days. She was just thinking of ending the brief encounter with Qin Nan perfectly.

It felt as if time had frozen.

Qin Nan could feel a steady breathing and a pleasant scene approaching his face.

His mind was completely blank. However, he subconsciously blurted out right before their bodies touched, "No!"

He pushed Ji Jinzi away.

Ji Jinzi opened her eyes and looked at him blankly.

Qin Nan's mind was a little chaotic. He was lost for words, "Ugh, Ji Jinzi, I, well..."

The disappointed look in Ji Jinzi's eyes soon dissipated. She said in a naughty tone, "Look at you, are you lost for words again? I was just teasing you."

Qin Nan let out a relieved sigh and said with a wry smile, "It seems like I still have much to learn."

Ji Jinzi said, "Of course, I can teach you...but on second thought, I'm not that experienced either. Forget it, you may learn it from someone else. Let's head inside."

"Sure."

The two continued forward. Their figures which were within inches from one another separated once again.
