Perfect Avatar-Chapter 237: Apex

"Oh no..."

"The...the General..."

Voices of intense despair rose among the emissaries, the strongest Avatar was there, facing the strongest elf yet.

The Duke’s daughter rushed out of the crevasse, she looked exhausted and panicked, but she was definitely alive.

"Freya? How are you... Did she spare you?"

Freya’s hands began to glow, her gaze conveying a clear response to the servant.

"Take the others and go! I’ll held them!"

Giant magic circles formed in the sky, the battlefield turning purple under the girl’s artwork.

A giant ray fell on the shield, Nefertari, Rhea and Giudecca disappeared from the platform which instantly disintegrated.

The beam reached the ground and caused a powerful explosion, creating a large cloud of smoke, the perfect decoy. The message was clear to everyone.

Eryl took a deep breath and screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Everyone, RUN!!!!"

They all leapt forward without a second, all rushing towards the cliff from which they came.

"...Damn...Don’t let them escape!" Giudecca shouted, materializing another wave of weapons.

The magic circles began to glow all together, the black knights rushed towards the cliff, but a new barrage of attacks fell on them.

A wall of explosion separated the emissaries from the black knights, and began to rain on the knights.

"Hurry up! To the savannah!"

the maid shouted, a heavy projectile landed in front of them, the demon wolf covered in scars bared its fangs.

"Shit! Shit!"

The maid’s eyes glowed orange, she loaded a voracity bomb into her mouth, when another beam hit the wolf.

"Don’t slow down, run!!!"

Freya screamed from afar, the servant gave her a desperate look, there was nothing left to do but run now, and they had to sacrifice their comrade for this chance, but their situation seemed too complicated to see a way out .

"FUCKING SAKE!!!"

Giudecca created fresh weapons along the precipice, as Freya readied to fire at her, a silhouette cast its shadow before her.

Rhea brandished her sword, the blade targeting the young woman’s neck, yet Nefertari materialized once more, skillfully deflecting the attack.

"Got your back, shoot!"

"...GOOD!"

She pointed her hand towards the cliff, the machine guns fired a purple rain at Marie’s shields, shattering several of them but never aiming directly at them.

Meanwhile, Giudecca was back on the wolf’s head, the beast leaping behind them to blur Freya’s vision, and around them, the Black Knights were back.

"D-Damn..."

Freya looked in every direction, Nefertari face to face with Rhea, Eryl and the others trapped by Giudecca and the Wolf, and the knights surrounding them, there was no escape.

"They got us..."

"If you understand this, put your hand down." Rhea said without taking her eyes off Nefertari. "You have no chance of winning, so why fight? Put your hand down, now."

"Do not listen to her!" Nefertari increased the pressure on her swords.

"Shoot! Your attacks are damaging these knights, you can kill them! Do it!"

Freya looked wearily at the two swordsmen and her comrades, she felt as if their lives depended on her, yet she knew it was of no use.

"Nefertari...even if I kill them...we can’t defeat her."

"...We don’t need to defeat her, Freya!"

With growing confusion, Freya looked at Nefertari, the elf giving her an intense look.

"We don’t need to kill her...we’re doing fine just holding them off like that!"

Nefertari turned her gaze towards Rhea, a smile on her lips.

"Now...we know what kind of monsters we’re dealing with...the Queen won’t miss this opportunity."

Further on, the group of volunteers who had fled at the start of the battle reached the border between ice and forest.

Freya couldn’t understand the elf’s words, but her confidence caused her to point her hands at Giudecca and the wolf again.

Nefertari met Rhea’s eyes, with a smile on her lips. The General stared at her for a moment, then her eyes widened.

She slowly turned her head towards the cliff wall, but the height of her gaze showed that she was not focused on the battle at the base of the wall.

Nefertari frowned a little, but suddenly her swords were pushed back.

With a slight push, Rhea forced the elf back, she took a step to the side, silent as a ghost, yet her step seemed to echo everywhere.

She took another step, everything seemed to move in slow motion, Freya followed her with her eyes, Nefertari stabilized herself with her right foot.

Rhea turned her sword sideways, she changed position facing the cliff wall with her right side, and then, her azure eyes glowed purple.

A blinding light consumed every inch of the terrain, the cliff, and the atmosphere.

The earth quaked with a power akin to a seismic earthquake, while an unimaginably loud noise reverberated through the air, surpassing all known decibel levels.

It seemed as if the earth itself had been violently torn apart by a pair of gigantic hands.

The resulting shock wave forcefully propelled every living being away from the ground, leaving them suspended in a disorienting state. Earth? Sky? No one could make the distinction,

but the same effect propagated in a single line, with a rapidity defying understanding.

The group of emissaries reached the end of the frozen country, the forest was there, ready to welcome them, they already heard the call of freedom, too similar to the trumpets of the apocalypse.

Some of them looked behind, allowing them to understand their fate. Less than a second later, they all disappeared into oblivion.

The green forest took on a new purple hue, taking over the sunlight, stretching into infinity and ravaged by a purple and white cloud.

The phenomenon reverberated throughout the forest, then a cold silence ensued.

A snowflake fell on a leaf, then another, then several, out of nowhere snow fell all over the forest.

The ice began to spread on the ground, the wind blew, sharing the freezing temperature of the frozen earth which had just spread.

Rhea lowered her weapon, in front of her, there was no longer a cliff, but a large valley of ice.

"Now, will you obey and keep those hands down very kindly?"
