Perfect Avatar-Chapter 243: Last Color
Chapter 243: Last Color
The blade illuminated Cleopatra’s amused face, and behind it, Freya looked at Rhea with incomprehension.
"Not... Cleopatra?... What do you mean? Rhea, what do you mean?!"
The general retracted her sword, Giudecca and Lucca stood on either side of the queen, completing her encirclement. frёewebηovel.cѳm
The woman looked left and right before laughing.
"Oh my...scary."
The confusion was most visible in Freya, Rhea lowered her sword, examining Cleopatra’s face.
"I promised you two things, that I wouldn’t lay my hands on Queen Cleopatra, and that I would erase the dangers to humanity, and it seems that this thing here fits the target description."
She pointed her sword at Cleopatra again, her eyes turning purple.
"We’ve been here for a month now, and we’ve studied your people long enough to understand what you were doing, freak."
Cleopatra put a hand over her mouth, visibly shocked, but when her hand left her face, she showed a bright smile.
"Me? A freak? How come?"
"You can fool around as much as you want, your life will end today so enjoy every second."
For the first time, Cleopatra’s smile disappeared. She gave the general an annoyed look and turned to Giudecca and Lucca, both ready to attack.
"I enjoy being the center of attention, but I’d rather share a dance with people, and I doubt you know the moves. Anyway, why are you so sure I’m not Cleopatra? My people never noticed you."
"Oh, they did. They arrived a while ago and they were captured. Well, to be precise, we tried to kill them, and that’s how we realized your powers."
She glanced at Nefertari, the elf, with trembling eyes.
"You elves, no matter how many times we kill you, you will always regenerate, even if we turn you into dust. But that is only one layer of your power. I learned from these people your behavior. Too happy with the despair you inflict, too playful, for an elf, with this longevity, and too insensitive towards people. You have done an excellent job of deceiving the elves, but it takes a truly wise mind to understand that too much abnormal is not a coincidence."
She took another step forward, the sword beginning to glow.
"The Code forbids me from touching another Sin Avatar, so why won’t you identify yourself? If you are not an Avatar, there are only 2 options, so which one of you took over the real Cleopatra? The Player, or the Sin?"
A deep silence fell over the room. Cleopatra stood in front of the statue.
To her left and right, Lucca and Giudecca, in front of Rhea, and behind, the black knights made the exit impossible.
"My...how annoying. Is this how you reward me for all I’ve done for you visitors?"
Among everyone, Freya was the only one who showed a little hesitation, everyone else stood guard.
Rhea’s intentions were clear and Cleopatra showed no signs of fear.
There was no doubt about what was going to happen.
"I understand why some strangers would like to see the red of my flesh, but... you, my daughters?"
The elves, with their heads bowed first, looked at their Queen with doubt.
One of them fixed her eyes on the general.
"What does she mean...you’re not the real Cleopatra?"
"You... your attitude... we noticed a long time ago that your attitude was different. I always thought you went crazy because of our fate... so please... please... Tell me it’s not true...please..."
Cleopatra observed her subjects curiously, and slowly, in a terrifying scene, her eyes glowed green, giving a new hue to her smile.
"Dear... I wish we could play this impersonation game a little longer... but my heart is so excited right now that I would always lose."
The elves shared a devastated expression, slowly eclipsed by Nefertari who drew her swords.
"You’re kidding... you’re kidding me! So you admit it? You’re not the queen?! What the hell?! If you’re not Queen Cleopatra, then who are you? Where is our mother?!"
She walked forward, standing next to Rhea, tension was at its peak and everyone’s eyes glowed with their characteristic color.
But at no time did Cleopatra show the slightest discomfort.
She placed a hand on her chest, with a euphoric face, unlike Nefertari who was about to explode.
"You made us immortal... you forced us to suffer the loss of our families for an eternity... who did that? Was it the queen? Or... was it you?"
"Girl...why are you looking for another reason to hate me? No matter what I say, the outcome won’t change. I’m sorry it’s come to this, but I guess that’s it for the Kingdom of Elves."
She spread her arms and looked up at the stars on the ceiling.
"This is the day we wished for, the day we give meaning to our lives, the day we make our name legendary... and the day we return to heaven... alongside our beloved Cleopatra."
Nefertari’s dual swords were only inches from Cleopatra.
"Ah..."
A metallic crash of blades echoed through the room.
Nefertari’s eyes widened, in front of her, Isis, armed with a dagger, had appeared out of nowhere.
The two jumped away from each other, Nefertari standing next to Rhea and Isis next to Cleopatra.
"Isis, what the hell?! Don’t defend this imposter, you idiot! She’s not the real Queen!"
Isis stood guard, then slowly lowered her weapons with a disinterested look.
"If I’m stupid in your eyes, it’s because you’re too clouded by your emotions to understand. She is your Queen, always has been."
Veins began to cover Nefertari’s neck.
"Isis...I’m really not in the mood for jokes. Move...Now!"
"And I’m telling you... that’s not going to happen."
Nefertari’s eyes were filled with pure rage, all she could see was red.
She took a step forward when Rhea’s blade raised in front of her.
"...Rhea...move!"
The General remained motionless, her eyes riveted on the duo in front of her.
She turned the tip of her sword towards Isis, her eyes glowing brighter.
"I’ve lived a long life, longer than most of you, long enough to see it all. But I think in this life I’ve never been surprised more times than I have been today."
The impassive gaze of Isis sank into the General.
"Hm?... So you noticed? Really? Damn, you’re really annoying."
Cleopatra closed her eyes, sighing in relief.
"Is it finally happening? Is this the moment you give me my reward? Dear Isis?"
"I don’t see a dire situation there, stay focused."
Cleopatra opened her eyes again, the whites were now a deep black with her emerald irises glowing.
"There’s a dire situation, deary. This girl in the military uniform smells like death...but not on her."
Rhea’s eyes narrowed.
"Now I understand why it had to be here first."
Behind her, no one understood the situation.
Rhea’s behavior was becoming too enigmatic, even for her own soldiers, but Isis, as if annoyed at seeing this insignificant struggle, heaved a last sigh.
"Maybe you need a little help understanding the situation. Some of you have the blessings, you should be able to figure it out on the spot."
She closed her eyes, and the moment she opened them again, she sent a shiver run down everyone’s spine.
"Let me reintroduce myself, in this place I am Isis, one of Cleopatra’s followers, but here is my other affiliation: Sin Avatar representing Lust."
Her black eyes let her irises shine blue.
