Perfect Avatar-Chapter 249: Ragnarok: Envious Of Life
Chapter 249: Ragnarok: Envious Of Life
Sitting on the edge of a calm river, a young girl, barefoot, was busy washing her clothes. She stopped abruptly, very cautious of those around her, she was stunned to realize that someone was observing her, too closely to not have been noticed earlier.
She looked up and met the emerald eyes of a young elf humming a song.

Apophis observed the painting of the apocalypse in the front row, her distinguished smile on her lips.
The sky lit up with the spectacle of a giant purple magic circle, followed by a fantastic shower of rays ravaging the Titans in their path and striking Gaia’s left arm.
Freya pointed her hand in the opposite direction, a magic circle formed directly in her hand, and fired another beam, growing, illuminating the area, and destroying many titans.
The impact of Freya’s power convinced her comrades to focus all their actions around her, Marie used her puppets to protect her and serve as a platform for her friends.
Cid fired as many magic balls as possible but without success. A giant fire axe came towards him, but Lucca’s giant jaws closed on the titan’s arm.
Giudecca appeared above, her machine gun blanket covering the sky before firing a barrage at the Titans.
Meanwhile, Liliana fought with the Black Knights and Hope in close combat, the size of their colossal opponent making their attack look like nothing, but she focused on the whale in the sky.
"That’s... It’s that thing, right? That looks exactly like one of the Players Miss Agharita described."
Above, the whale floated, like an angel of death. Liliana turned her gaze to Freya.
"Is it possible? The gigantic monster that was seen crossing the ocean... Could it be this Player? If it really is a Player... Moon Slash"
She transformed into a blue shadow and crossed a giant’s hand, but leaving almost no damage.
She began to run along the giant’s hand, trying to reach her leader.
To her, nothing else mattered more than what she wanted to confirm, it was a one-in-a-million chance.
"We must see... If we have any hope... of defeating them!"
The titan’s mouth opened next to her, charging a beam, she barely had time to think after that, when the explosion happened.
In the total darkness, everything was dark, but when she opened her eyes, she found herself on the back of another, more familiar giant: Baphomela.
"...Nefertari?"
Next to her, the elf carried her, with lifeless eyes.
She glanced at Liliana, letting her silence speak.
She was too careless and almost died because of it. Nefertari observed a scene higher up, at the top of the world.
On Gaia’s back, Rhea and Lust clashed their swords, in front of Apophis who was stunned, clapping her hands together.
"Glorious, a true battle of the titans. If only the whole world could know what kind of wonder is happening here."
"This one’s not just a titan, I need help!"
Lust in Elizabeth’s body tried to push Rhea away, but the General didn’t move an inch.
"It’s interesting that you can copy people, but what’s the point if the one you’re imitating is weaker than me?"
"...Do you realize how much this narrows down my options?"
Rhea’s eyes glowed brightly, the sword began to push Lust effortlessly.
"I don’t know you, and yet there’s something in your eyes that really infuriates me. I hate people who joke around on the battlefield while they’re helpless. You’ve been a duo of clowns for quite a long time , I will make sure..."
She swung her sword, a cut forming on Lust’s chest.
"...To reduce you into small pieces, small enough to make you will fit in the same coffin."
Her aura burst brightly, she leaned back and then struck with her mighty power.
The entire surface of this world chattered, everyone’s eyes turned in the same direction, where a clash of blue and purple occurred.
In the sky, Freya was trembling.
"... Impossible."
Lucca stopped right on one of Gaia’s hands, above her, Giudecca fired her machine gun.
"...The fuck, is that?"
Hope, Cid, Marie, Nefertari and the Black Knights, everyone watched the phenomenon in shock.
"There’s no point imitating someone weaker than you, is that what you said, General?"
Rhea’s sword was against Lust’s, but the shape of the latter’s sword had morphed into something more recognizable, too familiar.
"So... What if I imitated someone as strong as you?" Lust’s eyes shone brightly, with a face identical to Rhea’s.
The world seemed frozen in shock at the sight, on Gaia’s back there were now two Rheas, both releasing the same aura, one with violet eyes the other with blue eyes.
Apophis clapped faster.
"Amazing, you really did it. I was sure you could do it."
Lust smiled at Rhea.
"How do you like that... The perfect warrior for you is yourself? As expected from the Avatar of Pride."
Rhea’s face showed no signs of trouble, she kept her eyes glued to her doppelganger, increasing her aura.
"I see, I wasn’t wrong, earlier, your pressure really reached me. How did you do that? The pressure from one Sin shouldn’t work on another Sin if they’re both activated."
"Normally, yes, General...but Lust is different. And it’s not just the looks."
Lust covered himself in a blue aura and jumped back before delivering a blow lighting up the area.
A destructive blue light passed through Gaia’s back, reaching the ground and dying in a spectacular explosion of ice.
The giant let out a howl, its titanic hands reaching out towards the emissaries on the ground.
Apophis looked at the origin beast and then sighed.
"Please, deary, try not to hurt that little baby."
"It’s okay, with your power, there’s no need to even-" Rhea appeared above them, her sword swinging towards the two of them.
"Ah?"
"Guh!!!"
Another explosion hit Gaia, prompting the giant to raise its hands.
Lust rushed onto the creature’s back, pursued by an avalanche.
"Of course, it shouldn’t be easy!"
A projectile came out of the snow, rushing towards Lust at high speed, the latter gritted her teeth and brandished her sword, hitting the General’s.
A shockwave shook the air, sending numerous black knights to the ground.
On Gaia’s back, Rhea and Lust engaged in hand-to-hand battle, clashing swords and sending shockwaves and blasts of ice everywhere.
The giant’s back became the mess of a battlefield, but neither warrior was affected.
Marie pushed her platforms as far as possible from the giant, it was not a fight at their level and they knew it, beside her, Freya was trying to understand the two abilities.
"...Rhea said she only possesses ice slash...But it’s way beyond that skill..."
She observed the clash between the two monsters, replicating the exact power level, the same type of attacks, a true mirror battle.
The girl thought about Eryl’s words about the sins, but it wasn’t easy to put them into practice here.
"What is the conceptual power of Pride and Lust?"
At the same time, a shadow crossed the battlefield, too large to ignore.
"...God dam... don’t do that!!!"
Nefertari, riding Baphomela, climbed Gaia’s body, heading towards the head where the origin of this apocalypse was located.
Baphomela leaped above and Nefertari fell on Apophis, her swords striking the Player’s head.
A light shock shook the air, Lust was in front of Nefertari, successfully parrying her attack.
"Not on my watch."
Lust’s sword fell on the elf, and a giant light beam crossed Gaia’s back.
"....?" But the origin was not Lust.
Behind, Apophis had just been vaporized by Rhea.
The General appeared before Lust, the tip of the sword pointed towards her opponent.
At the same time, Nefertari pushed Lust with her feet toward the general whose sword was glowing.
An ice cyclone erupted between Rhea and Nefertari, pushing them back.
Lust, in a desperate attempt to protect herself, swirled around her, deflecting Rhea’s attack.
She jumped on the general, and the two swords clashed again, violently, devastating everything in their path.
Each shock created a black flash, inverted the color of reality and certain shockwaves could destroy the giants.
It was enough to convince Nefertari to leave now, but just as she was about to jump, her gaze met that of a skeleton.
"What..."
"...Aaah...Do you hate your mother so much...Nefertari?"
A green wind swirled around the skeleton, flesh formed on the bones, then on the organs, the muscles, the skin, and finally the hair with the clothes.
Apophis was back in perfect shape. She massaged her face with satisfaction before gassing Nefertari.
"My daughter, have you forgotten I was the reason we were immortal?"
The air turned purple, both looked at the sky where a giant magic circle had appeared.
"Oh?"
An eagle-shaped puppet struck Nefertari and carried her away, then a beam of energy struck the giant and the Player.
The explosion sent Gaia to the ground headfirst,
prompting Rhea and Lust to continue their fight against the surrounding titans, and each time, Rhea struck a group of giants.
Freya observed the consequences of her attack, Gaia was back in shape, and on her back, the Player was regenerating again.
"I am really sorry..."
Her voice resonated in everyone’s heads.
"There are so many powerful people here, and I’m definitely weaker than most of you. No matter what I do, I can’t be stronger than the one I envy. I can’t use a sword like you, I can’t use magic like you, the only thing I can do is watch and desire. This is the curse bestowed upon me, the heir of the full power of envy, I am the weakest of the Sin avatars."
She spread her arms and looked at the moon.
"But the greater the curse, the greater the blessing... And the sin of envy... As divine attributes."
Light covered the entire area, spreading around the monsters and bodies.
"My dear guests... Have you ever envied something so much that it happened to you? This miracle is envy’s reward to its bearer, the miracle of making wishes."
The green aura burst onto the ground, and the slain titans resurfaced from the green mist formed.
"What I envy the most... Is life. I am envious of life."
