Chapter 341: An idea

Jiang Yuan understood the point Lu Mingshu was trying to bring across, but she chose to keep quiet and not say anything.

However, Lu Mingshu was determined to get an answer. Since Jiang Yuan isn’t willing to answer, Lu Mingshu decided to voice her suspicions. “The four princes are the most suspicious, am I right?”

“…..Yeah.” At this point, Jiang Yuan did not wish to lie anymore. “But Miss Ji, the relationship between the aristocratic families are too complicated, so I can’t say that for sure.”

Jiang Yuan blinked. In fact, she suspected the pair that she joined forces with too. Firstly the king of beasts, then the thunder ball. If they could help her avoid those attacks, it showed that their ability was extraordinary. ~They would be used to going against a freezing spirit phase instead of me, it’s like using a canon to kill a chicken!”~

And to be honest, the three possibilities Lu Mingshu has listed out were all valid, but Jiang Yuan hadn’t broken through the freezing spirit phase, so even if the Jiang family lost her, it wouldn’t be a huge loss. For Elder Miss Nie or Jiang family members, they weren’t this powerful.

“In other words, any one could be our enemy, and nobody is trustworthy.” Lu Mingshu shook her head.

“Yes.” Jiang Yuan ammited. There was no choice, the answer was so obvious.

“It’s a bad choice to join forces with us at this time.” Lu Mingshu mumbled.

“…”

The fight went on for a period of time, and soon, there were participants who gave up willingly, while there were some who chose to persevere but were pushed down and out of the sea of clouds. The number of participants left decreased, and the fights slowly came to a halt, as most of them started moving towards the teleportation spell formation located at the heaven core.

When the total number of participants were less than thirty, the fighting finally came to a stop—-the easy targets were all disqualified. The ones left were all very strong.

Yan Wugui jogged back to them and wiped the sweat that was dripping down his forehead profusely. “What the fuck is wrong with you guys? One second you two are getting burned by fire and the next you are being struck by lighting?” After hearing what happened from Lu Mingshu, he stared at him weirdly.

“Not my fault.” Lu Mingshu shrugged. “Ask Prince Jiang to recall who she has offended.”

“Are you kidding?” Yan Wugui choked on his saliva. “How are we going to compete?”

They had all witnessed how powerful the clouds could be, it’s similar to a purity soul phase elite disciple’s power. ~If Jiang Yuan gets hit by it…..how troublesome it will be!~

“Fuck my life.” Yan Wugui huffed. “If I knew it would be this troublesome, I would have listed conditions.”

Jiang Yuan sighed and looked up at them earnestly. “Miss and gentleman Ji, if I can successfully get into the top three, I’ll reward you substantially.”

“The reward is not the problem….” Yan Wugui looked at her gloomly. “How much is it anyway?”

“…”

Yan Wugui laughed at his own joke. He had promised her and signed a treaty, of course he would do his best to help her. ~But the bigger the reward, the better it is of course. Who dosen’t like big prizes?~

“Ladies and gentleman,” As the fight came to a halt, Prince Chu increased his voice and gathered the attention of all present. “All of you are still here because you are strong. But if we continue like this, the losses might be….”

Before he could finish his sentence, somebody on the other side sneered. “Oh my god, you must be blind. Can’t you see how many have already died? Talking about this as if there wasn’t any loss earlier. Don’t you feel that you are too late?”

However, Chu Zhengyan did not flare up. He laughed and smiled at him sweetly. “Of course I can see, but those who died earlier aren’t you, who knows if you would be next?”

“Are you threatening me?” Hearing him, the other party bursted out in anger.

“What do you mean by threatening you?” Chu Zhengyan whipped out a fan and start fanning himself. “I am just stating facts. Who wishes to die here? Do you not remember how many competitors we have?”

“Prince Chu, what are you trying to say?” Someone yelled at him, “Trying to convince us to give up?”

“No,” Chu Zhengyan smiled and shook his finger. “We can only have ten for the third round, how can my team take up all the slots? I just feel that we all are elites here, and if we start killing each other, it will be a waste.”

“Brother Chu.” the floating cloud gentleman spoke up suddenly. “Just speak up, our time is precious.”

“Brother Yun is indeed straightforward.” Chu Zhengyan laughed and twirled his fan, “I feel that the method we were using previously is too barbaric and will cause unhappiness, life is too precious. So let’s do it another way, shall we?”

The crowd glace at each other upon hearing this.

~What is this Chu Zhengyan up to? Everyone is here to compete with their ability, and to fight with all their strength here as the prize for being in the top ten is so huge that it’s irresistible and yet he is suggesting a new way to compete? ~

“Brother Qin, what do you think?” Chu Zhengyan smiled and called for Qin Jun.

Qin Jun smiled at him and nodded. “Brother chu, please voice it out. If it’s good, we will follow it.”

“Great!” Chu Zhengyan clapped. “Brother Qin is indeed open minded.”

He pointed towards the heaven core and smiled. “My plan is very simple. If we are going to fight, we will end up with a lot of casualties and death, so why not we replace our life with something else?”

“Something else?”

“Yeah.” Chu Zhengyan took out his badge and waved in front of all. “This. The item that acts as our identification card in this debate. If another successfully snatches this away from us, it will be counted as a loss. In short, we are betting on this instead of our lifes.”

“What brother Chu means is that whoever loses their badge is considered as having lost, am I right?” Qin Jun looked up.

“Uh huh.” Chu Zhengyan laughed. “I think most of you have forgotten that there’s a boundary set up for this debate, to prevent cheating. So whoever loses their badge will be disqualified.

“Well….”

The crowd glanced at each other. Prince Chu’s idea is good. To prevent the badge from being taken away, everyone will put in the same effort as if they are fighting for their lives. Now, with everyone going after the badges, there will not be any need to worry about the number of casualties and death.

There’s no doubt that every participant at the debate had put in their all to get here today. Of course nobody would be willing to die here. Moreover, he or she had successfully gotten to this round, which further proved their ability and after the debate, they would surely gain even more recognition and prizes. Who would not want such things?

However, some of them still had doubts. “But is it okay that we set our own rules?”

“Ask them,” Chu Zhengyan turned to the freezing spirits elders and greeted them one by one. “Seniors, may junior know if my suggestion could be approved?”

After a moment of silence, the other party than replied. “Yes.”

Chu Zhengyan smiled widely and bowed. “Thank You very much.” He then turned back to the crowd and raised his volume. “Any questions?”

The crowd shook their head. “Prince Chu’s idea is good. I am willing to give it a try.” Soon, there was someone who showed interest in it.

And more and more people stood by them. In no time, everybody agreed with prince Chu.

“What about brother Qin and brother Jiang?” Prince Chu walked to them, smiling. The rest had all agreed, leaving only them.

Qin Jun looked over at Jiang Yuan and nodded. “It’s worth a shot.”
