Pokemon: A New Path-Wo-Chien[510]
Wo-Chien[510]
Pikachu had vanished.
Naoki quickly stepped forward, parting the tall grass in search of any trace of it.
But there was nothing, not even a single strand of Pikachu’s fur.
It had disappeared without a trace.
“It’s really fast.”
Realizing he wouldn't be able to track it down immediately, Naoki sighed and returned to the cliffside, gazing at the endless expanse of the Paldean Sea.
The waves crashed rhythmically against the rocks below, sending sprays of white foam into the air.
The scenery here was breathtaking.
But Naoki’s mind was still occupied by the incredible sight he had just witnessed, a Pikachu flying.
He found himself wondering about it.
How had it come up with such a technique?
Why was it so determined to fly?
Even Groudon hadn’t figured that out yet.
Pikachu had always been known for its unique individuals, Ash’s Pikachu, Surfing Pikachu, Rock Star Pikachu, the Hat-Wearing Pikachu variations, and even Wrestler Pikachu.
But this flying Pikachu was something else entirely.
Unlike the Surfing Pikachu, which relied on external means like a surfboard, this Pikachu had achieved flight through its own self-devised technique.
It had discovered a way to push past the limits of its species, turning its own Electric-type moves into an aerial propulsion system.
It was truly special.
However, that method of flying was also dangerous.
Naoki recalled how injured it had looked.
Just how many times had it failed before managing to get airborne?
And yet, despite the repeated crashes, it hadn’t given up.
Pawmot was also incredibly resilient, but that was just part of its natural instincts, an Electric-type Pokémon thriving on physical endurance.
But this Pikachu had no such advantage.
It had pushed itself through sheer willpower alone, training without guidance, without a trainer, without anyone to help it.
Naoki found himself intrigued.
He wanted to observe this Pikachu more closely, to understand its motivations and witness its training firsthand.
So, he turned to Koraidon.
“Koraidon, let’s try to find that Pikachu again. But if you spot it, don’t approach right away, I want to see how it behaves in the wild first.”
Koraidon tilted his head, looking slightly confused, but nodded.

"Raao!"
Thus, the search began.
Minutes turned into hours.
Naoki and Koraidon scoured the area, searching for any sign of Pikachu.
In that time, several wild Pokémon had managed to find the glowing stakes that sealed the Ancient Snail.
Naoki took brief pauses to pull the stakes out, thanking the Pokémon for their help, before resuming his search for Pikachu.
Yet despite all their efforts, they found nothing.
By the time Naoki removed the final two stakes, there was still no sign of the elusive Pikachu.
“Seriously?” Naoki muttered.
Koraidon shook his head with a helpless sigh.
“Raao…”
Naoki exhaled, pushing aside his frustration.
Finding Pikachu would have to wait, he had a more urgent matter to handle.
The final seal on the Ancient Snail had been lifted.
If he didn’t move quickly, the Pokémon would break free on its own, draining the surrounding vegetation and turning this land barren.
“Koraidon, let’s get back to the shrine!”
“Raao!”
Without hesitation, Koraidon spread his wings and took off, soaring through the air with powerful speed.
Within moments, they arrived at the Grasswither Shrine.
Naoki’s eyes locked onto the ancestral structure in the clearing ahead.
The black chains that once bound the shrine’s doors had disappeared.
The doors of the shrine creaked open, revealing a mysterious Pokémon.
It resembled a snail, its body covered in withered yellow leaves, and a large ancient scroll wrapped around its shell.
As soon as it emerged, the surrounding grass and trees withered and turned yellow.
The Ancient Snail was absorbing the life energy of the plants.
Naoki's eyes narrowed.
"We have to stop it before it drains everything!"
"Koraidon, use Flamethrower!"
"Raao!"
Koraidon let out a roar, opening its mouth wide as a blazing, red-hot stream of fire burst forth.
The scorching flames shot toward the Ancient Snail in a spiraling inferno.
The moment the flames engulfed it, the Pokémon let out a hoarse, eerie cry.
However;
From within the raging fire, two burning green vines suddenly lashed out, tearing through the flames and rushing toward Koraidon.
"Evade!"
Koraidon swiftly rolled mid-air, narrowly avoiding the whip-like vines.
But before it could counterattack;
A black beam of energy erupted from below, surging upward like a storm.
The entire battlefield was drenched in dark energy, and the surrounding flames were snuffed out instantly.
A sinister aura of destruction radiated from the Ancient Snail’s body, filling the air with an ominous presence.
Naoki recognized the attack immediately.
“That’s Ruinous Curse…”
The signature move of the Four Treasures of Ruin.
"Alright then… Koraidon, use Full-Power Collision Course!"
The dragon let out a fierce cry.
Koraidon, in the meantime, shifted forms mid-air, propelling itself forward at blazing speed.
The moment it made contact,
BOOM!
A massive explosion erupted, sending shockwaves tearing through the shrine grounds.
The winds howled as dust and debris swirled into the sky, shaking the very foundations of the Grasswither Shrine.
For several moments, nothing but silence filled the air.
Then, as the dust settled, Naoki saw the Ancient Snail lying in front of the shrine doors, its body covered in scorch marks and deep wounds.
It had been defeated.
"Nice work, Koraidon!"
Naoki grinned as he and his partner high-fived.
Then, without hesitation, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a Poké Ball, and threw it at Wo-Chien
Click!
The Poké Ball snapped open automatically, engulfing Wo-Chien in a beam of white light, before sealing the Pokémon inside.
One shake.
Two shakes.
Then;
The Poké Ball stopped moving.
Capture complete!
Naoki stepped forward and picked up the Poké Ball. With this, the third of the Four Treasures of Ruin had been subdued.
Only one remained: Chien-Pao, the Ruinous Sword.
"Alright, thanks a lot for your help today!" Naoki called out to the gathering of wild Pokémon, who had been watching expectantly.
True to his word, he reached into his bag and began distributing Poke Blocks and Poffins to each Pokémon that had assisted him.
"Here you go, Spearow, this one’s yours. Squawkabilly, here’s your share. Greedent, take this box..."
The wild Pokémon eagerly took their treats, happily munching away, their eyes filled with satisfaction.
Naoki smiled as he watched the harmonious scene for a moment.
Then, his gaze shifted, his mind drifting back to that mysterious flying Pikachu from earlier.
Even now, it was nowhere to be seen.
After a brief pause, Naoki turned to the wild Pokémon gathered around him.
"By the way," he asked, "have any of you seen a Pikachu around here?"
Greedent, who had been busy stuffing its cheeks with a Poké Puff, paused and blinked. "Squeak?"
"A Pikachu, yellow fur, sparks on its cheeks, flying over the cliff this morning." Naoki gestured toward the spot where he’d seen it earlier.
The wild Pokémon all turned in that direction, thinking.
Finally, one spoke up.
Spearow flapped its wings. "Chirp!" (I’ve seen it! But we never talked!)
Sunflora chimed in. "Flora! Flora!" (That’s incredible! I can’t even fly!)
Naoki chuckled. "It's okay, most Pokémon can’t fly. But does anyone know where it lives?"
The Pokémon all shook their heads.
It seemed the Pikachu kept to itself, avoiding interactions with others.
Naoki sighed in mild disappointment.
From what he had observed, this Pikachu was highly cautious. Given its wariness, it likely wouldn’t return here for a while.
Realizing there was no use in chasing after it for now, Naoki decided to leave things to be, at least for the time being.
He turned to the Pokémon and smiled warmly.
"Alright, I understand. Thanks again for all your help!" he said. "We’re heading out now. Hopefully, we’ll meet again someday!"
With that, Naoki climbed onto Koraidon’s back.
The mighty Pokémon unfurled its wings, crouched low, then launched into the sky with a powerful leap.
As the wind rushed past, Naoki took one last look at the land below, the wild Pokémon fading into the distance.
