Chapter 163: Chapter 163: I don’t believe

"Umm, I am sorry..." While enduring his complaints, Zenith tried to act a little adorable while professing his past deeds, "I know...I am still surprised at myself why would I let those creeps approach me in the first place..."

"Good for you that you’ve reached that realization..." Marching a step closer, Kylian suddenly grabbed Zenith by his collar while fixating his ocean eyes with an obsessive tint in them. "Because now, you belong to me. No matter what kind of or how many creeps were you have been with, you should never dare to look at them again if you do not want to end up dead by my hands..."

"Yes, I am completely yours, babe." Brooding his puppy eyes at him, Zenith held a cryptic smirk on his lips when he urged, "But babe...is this your answer to my confession from last night?"

"No. I still won’t give you my answer...but I will wait for you, even if it takes a year or two...or even 10 years, but I want to see you become the worthy Alpha I will be proud to be with for eternity." Slowly releasing his collar from the grip, Kylian fixated his keen gaze on him as he uttered his bold determination, "I want to trust the Zenith standing right in front of me, and I won’t blame the scarred one from the past who was succumbed by his own inner darkness. It wasn’t your fault that you were seeking warmth from the people around you who only thought of using you to gain their own favors. Zenith, I would never blame you for anything, but are you brave enough to prove that I won’t make a mistake if I choose you over everything?"

A radiant glimmer of smile flashed across his face when Zenith suddenly knelt down before Kylian and held his arm. With a soft kiss placed on his knuckle, he muttered with shimmering bliss in his dark onyx eyes looking up at him, "I would give up my life for you, babe. That’s how much you mean to me. I know the deeds I have committed in the past can’t be erased easily, but I will prove myself to be your worthy, no matter what it takes..."

"And if I really mean something to you, then you must live for me, Zenith." His sincere confession did touch his heart, making Kylian smile with beaming joy in those shiny ocean eyes. He knelt down before Zenith as well, with their hands tightly intertwined with each other, as his words sounded serene, "I want you to live a long happy life for me, because...I truly want to trust you Zenith in the path I have chosen for myself."

Sparks flew in their ignited hearts as they gazed into each other’s eyes keenly for a brief moment, before slowly drawing close for a soft, gentle kiss. Under the breathtaking view of that beautiful green mountain surrounding that enormous waterfall crossed with the rainbow bridge, they didn’t deepen their kiss, but it gave a meaning to the emotions they conveyed to each other after all the turmoil from Ruben.

"Babe, do you know there’s a famous rumor about this place..." Parting his lips away from Kylian, Zenith showered him with kisses all across his adorable face, making Kylian giggle with his playful act, "What’s the rumor?"

Holding a mischievous smug face, Zenith rather tried to tease him by innovating the known rumor about that place, "Everyone says if a couple kisses in front of this sacred mountain and waterfall, then they would live a long happy life together. Some are even blessed with triplets after they get married."

A flustered smile quickly shimmered on Kylian’s face when he pouted, with a gentle smack on Zenith’s head, "Now you are making up stuff, huh? How sly...wait...what’s that?"

At a distance uphill from them, Kylian’s gaze locked on a shimmering gold-plated round tomb which appeared as if it was the top of the some kind of mountain shrine. Following his direction, when Zenith’s eyes locked on it, somehow his wide smile tainted a little as he answered in a dim voice, "Do you mean by that shrine?"

"Shrine? Wow, is that some kind of mountain shrine?" Kylian quickly lit up with excitement as he stood up from the ground, gazing eagerly at the golden tomb which was dazzling under the warm sunlight.

"This is an old temple of Moon Goddesses, and since it is located at such a high altitude, there are fewer people than expected." In contrast to Kylian’s enthusiastic response, Zenith’s voice looked a bit glum as if he was a little reluctant to talk about it.

But as if Kylian didn’t pay much attention to his contrasting expression, he rather pointed his finger towards the shimmering shrine and urged in a keen voice, "It’s not much high up from here, Zenith. Since we have already arrived here, come on, let’s go up there too. It has been a long time since I have visited a Holy Mother’s shrine."

As if Zenith had already anticipated this kind of response from Kylian, his solemn face turned a bit uneasy when instead of agreeing with him like always, he answered, "I don’t believe in deities, so...I don’t like to visit places like that."

"Huh?" Kylian was startled by his response and turned around, this time he clearly saw a solemn look prominent on Zenith’s face. His eyes had a hint of grim in them, and for the first time ever, hearing him oppose something Kylian wanted to do, made him curious to find more about his hesitation. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"Why Zenith? Don’t you believe in Moon Goddesses---"

"No, I don’t. So, can we just go somewhere else?" In a curt frigid voice, Zenith urged, meeting Kylian’s gaze firmly this time.

"But why Zenith?" As if the more he expressed his hesitation, the more it tempted Kylian to learn about the story behind it. The sadness in his dark eyes were evident for him to realize Zenith was keeping something away from him. "Am I not allowed to even know about the reason?"
