Chapter 34: Knight Grades

The Graviton Knight, the Zodiac of Gravitation. His name is Aiden Valentine, the current principal of Glory Academy.

"I wonder how powerful he would become if he ever received a blessing and became able to use primordial energy?" Azalea couldn’t help but voice her thoughts, curiosity evident in her eyes.

"I wonder as well," Elreth shrugged, looking directly into Azalea’s eyes. She could see a desire in her gaze; as for what kind of desire it was, she didn’t know, nor did she care. But she felt the need to warn her since she had set her sights on him first.

"He is mine, so you better not entertain any weird thoughts, or you won’t like the outcome." Elreth emitted a subtle pressure, a wave of heat surging forth to envelope Azalea.

In response, Azalea rolled her eyes before summoning Wind, which manifested as a barrier to push the heat aside.

"Don’t worry. I have no desire to take him."

"I hope so," Elreth replied, canceling her Law’s manifestation, and Azalea did the same.

Their silent confrontation nearly went unnoticed, but their teacher felt the tension and chuckled, wondering what had sparked such a reaction between them, almost turning into a confrontation.

Nero, who noticed the brief exchange, felt it had something to do with him for some reason.

’Hopefully, I’m just overthinking this. I don’t want to be dragged into any troublesome situations so soon,’ he thought, shaking his head in hope that he was merely imagining things.

Adam and Barak also noticed the interaction, both wondering what was happening.

"Okay, let’s continue the class," Balrog said with a snap of his fingers, sending out a shockwave that forced the cadets to focus on their teacher.

"Do you know that the previous stages mentioned are general knowledge? The four stages I just described have specific names within the Knight System. Who can tell me what they are?"

Adam raised his hand faster than anyone else, subtly glancing in a particular direction as he did so—a move that didn’t escape Nero’s notice.

Nero chuckled. ’Don’t tell me he’s doing this just to impress a girl?’ He couldn’t understand.

’I must show my intelligence; there’s no way they wouldn’t fall for me. I’m super handsome and intelligent—the perfect combination. My romantic life shall begin!’

Good-looking, yes, but not quite as super handsome as he thought.

"Go ahead, Adam!"

"The four grades are named as follows:

The Low level Knight is called a Blue Knight,

the Intermediate level Knight is known as a Red Knight,

the High level Knight is referred to as a Purple Knight,

and finally, the Apex Knight is known as a Black Knight or a Zodiac." Adam proudly explained, his torso puffed out so high that some of the women mistakenly thought he was flaunting his femininity for a moment.

Balrog nodded but couldn’t help but look at Adam as if he were some kind of weirdo.

"Good answer," he said, motioning for Adam to sit back down, which he did.

"I bet the women must be smitten by my perfect answer," Adam remarked with a smirk.

"I don’t think so," Nero chuckled, glancing at the women who were staring at Adam in confusion—not exactly the look of someone smitten.

Upon hearing Nero’s response, Adam slumped into his chair, dejected. Nero couldn’t help but smile; this guy was amusing, he thought.

"Let’s do a quick test before the class ends. As you all know, it’s vital for a knight to have a strong physique to display your full strength. The stronger your physique, the more your core can grow. A knight without a weapon must be able to fight using only his fists. Additionally, a powerful physique will allow you to wield your Law to its fullest," Balrog explained, cracking his knuckles. A powerful pressure emanated from his fists, demonstrating that his physical strength was terrifying.

’Previously, I thought he was just an Intermediate level Knight, a Red Knight, but I think my assumption was wrong. Even if he isn’t yet a Purple Knight, he must be very close to it—a half-step Purple Knight. That explains a lot,’ Nero mused.

Although there are four stages in the Knight System, each stage is further divided into three levels: Low, Intermediate, and High.

Balrog continued with his lesson.

"Physique among Knights is ranked from level one to twelve, with three stages for each Knight grade. The evolution of your physique is crucial to your cultivation. For a Blue Knight to become a Red Knight, your physique must reach level four. A powerful physique will help your body synchronize and wield your core energy to its fullest potential. That’s why training and strengthening your physical strength is essential; without it, you won’t be able to progress in your cultivation."

Every cadet nodded in acknowledgment of their teacher’s words, vowing to train harder and consume elixirs.

"As you might know, to train your physique, you must rely not only on training but also on consuming elixirs. Both are challenging to obtain. Fortunately, here at the academy, it’s possible—you just need to perform well to earn credits that will allow you to buy the necessary items for your progress. As for how to earn credits, it’s through missions and friendly competitions between classes," Balrog added.

"Let’s test your physique level; one by one, you’ll move toward the testing machine." As soon as he finished his sentence, something rose from the ground. It resembled a vending machine but with a different design, featuring a punching spot with a digital screen above it.

Nero marveled at this, while Adam began to fidget. He found the machine’s design remarkably crafted and wished he could dismantle it to examine its components, going through every rune. It’s worth noting that this testing machine is a product of dwarven technology in collaboration with the Mage Association, which is responsible for inscribing the runes. The dwarves handle all major technology in the world; they are truly gifted when it comes to crafting, and no other race can match their skill.
