Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 178: Returning to Celestara, And Synthex
Chapter 178: Returning to Celestara, And Synthex
I’m still fucking pissed off, Rael thought as he finally pulled into the Celestara mountainside elevator. The fucker tried to kill my wife, and then he went ahead and died.
This is just bull—
“Rael?” Zafira called out as she patted his shoulder. “I don’t know what you saw, but I’m not dead. I’m here with you.”
“I know. Sorry.” Rael sighed as he leaned back in his seat. “I’m mad that I didn’t expect it. They are barbarians, so naturally, they have a different way of doing things. I should’ve done some research on them…”
“I already researched them before we left,” Zafira said plainly. “Chieftain Jin was said to be a calm and magnanimous man. A great ruler, and all of those flowery words. But as you can see, my information network was flawed.”
But mine isn’t… Rael thought. I should pay Zareth a visit.
Rael’s information network was obviously much better than hers, and if he had visited Zareth beforehand, he would’ve seen this coming.
But that was a blunder on his part, and Rael would never make the same mistake again.
Nonetheless, they chatted a bit on their way to the palace where Rael dropped Zafira off.
However, right as she was about to step out of the car, she suddenly leaned in, placing a kiss on his cheek.
Rael turned in surprise, but he was already too late, Zafira had already left the car and was waving at him.
“See you tonight,” she said, putting a finger to her lips before calmly walking into the palace.
In the meantime, Rael stared at her departing figure until finally, she disappeared form his sight.
Rael simply put his hands on the wheel. Tonight… huh?
There were many things they could do tonight, but for the sake of optimism, Rael was going to keep a pair of happy thoughts in mind.
Nonetheless, he took over the wheel and began driving to a particular location.
There was a single bakery in the very center of Celestara, one that had several hundred people visiting per day.
It was a good business, but it was also the base of operations for Synthex, Zareth and Rael’s intelligence group.
Rael parked in an alleyway and stored his car before slowly heading inside through the back door.
He had realized the players had been hunting him since earlier, and he didn’t exactly want to be seen by the citizens of Celestara either.
The moment he opened the back door, he was met with two bodyguards who had thin swords stashed on their belts.
“Sup.” Rael waved. “Can I come in?”
“What’s the password?” one of the guards asked, tapping on the thin sword’s hilt with a frown.
While Rael did understand they had to look threatening and all, it wasn’t exactly working on him.
“I don’t know the password,” Rael said flatly. “But can you tell your leader to get his ass up here? I need to ask some questions.”
Though I’m surprised they don’t know who I am. Just who are these guys? Rael thought, and in the very next moment, he saw both of them unsheathe their thin swords in unison.
Then, without warning, they both struck out, trying to slash his neck.
Instead of panicking, Rael merely took a step back, extended his arms, and then caught both blades. And of course, while the flustered guards tried pulling their blades back, Rael tightened his grip.
Immediately, two cracks resounded, followed by the swords shattering to bits and falling to the ground.
“Y-You! We need backup!” one of the guards yelled, looking around frantically.
“Mate…” Rael facepalmed, and without hesitation, approached the two and chopped his hand at the back of their necks.
They fell limp to the ground, unconscious.
Rael looked around and proceeded to simply pick them up by the legs and drag them inside. With that, he closed the door and decided to meet Zareth himself.
It was a dark room with only a single staircase leading down.
He took the stairs down, and when he arrived, he was met with yet another door.
Since he was a regular person, he knocked first. But upon not getting a reply within five seconds, he kicked the door down.
Immediately, several dozen traps were set off, traveling straight for his body.
Just like before, instead of dodging, Rael simply took it like a champ.

Props to Zareth for pulling this many arrows out of his ass, Rael thought in wonder as he simply walked ahead.
Though the room was just as dark as the last. However, he could see a steel door off in the distance.
It wasn’t a dud either, since there was a glimmer of light shining through the bottom, illuminating the room Rael was in slightly.
I really should’ve added this guy to my friend list… Rael sighed. But every time I tried, he said he wanted to keep things old school.
Rael finally arrived at the door, and like before, he knocked before doing anything drastic.
Just this time, someone actually opened the door.
It was a woman with curly red hair, and the moment her eyes landed on him, she froze.
“K-King Rael Sutekh… what a coincidence seeing you here,” she said just loud enough for the others behind her to hear. “To what do we owe this visit?”
“Where’s your leader?” Rael asked flatly. “The faceless one, or whatever you people call him here.”
“He’s out at the moment. Do you want me to take a message?” the woman offered.
“I’ll wait…” Rael trailed off, glancing at the thin needle the woman held between her fingers.
He smirked. “Are you planning on using that?”
The moment his words fell, her eyes widened as she threw the needle straight at him. Just this time, Rael didn’t dodge.
Rael chuckled, and with a warm smile, he looked straight into her confused green eyes.
“You have five minutes to get him down here or I’ll massacre every last one of you,” he said, and then tapped on his forearm, as if he had a wristwatch.
“Tick tock.”
