RE: Perverted Sugar Daddy System-Chapter 249: Deadly Evolution
As we went deeper, the shouts became louder and tremors began running through the floor and walls around us.
Betty gripped her gun so tight, that I feared her knuckles would turn white.
Both below and behind, the smell of fear and trouble wafted up, but I found a sort of joy going through me because without doing a thing, a 3D image of the world beneath and above was flickering in and out of my head.
This deep underground and close to the bunker, the concentration of nature energy in the atmosphere had drastically increased, and whatever perks I had gained from mutating my Psion were beginning to show once more.
"We're almost there," Betty muttered some seconds later as the bright light from down below became much stronger, and in no time, we arrived at an open door.
The blonde opted to jump to the side and hide beside the door, but as for me, I walked straight in, my hands in my pocket.
"Hello everyone," I said to the six exhausted men in front of me, their torn clothes and blood-stained bodies telling of the intense battle they had just been in before I arrived.
"Who are you?" one of the men at the front asked.
He had a bloody bandana across his head and, just like the rest of the men behind him, wore a black suit that had seen better days.
Ignoring the question for the sake of theatrics, I turned and observed where I was.
Filled with several bulbs fixed in the ceiling, the basement was a wide, relatively empty hall. Its floor was smooth and bare, tainted only by dust and the cracks and holes which the misters standing before me had inflicted.
Just some minutes ago, before we even began descending the stairs, there had been 13 people in this room.
One of them had been lying on the ground, unmoving, while the remaining 12 had been chaotically coexisting.
When I began descending the stairs, the intensity with which the 13 men fought each other increased. Then, after letting themselves get properly beaten up, 6 of the 12 men had fallen to the ground, their bodies scattered around the hall.
Along with their bodies showing no signs of life, small pools of blood surrounded a few of them.
Heavily diluted nature energy also oozed from their bodies, this used to hide their life signs from someone like me who had strong sensory abilities and would want to investigate further.
"So nature energy in diluted quantities is actively used as a jammer."
This was a good lesson for me.
"Are you ignoring us?"
"Yes. I find the fact that you actually broke the limbs of your teammates and gravely injured them for a ploy to be very interesting."
All of the men before me were tall and well-built, and from their beings, they exuded savagery.
It took them a second, but when they processed my words, concentrated bloodlust poured out from them, and without hesitation, they moved to pound me to paste. But...
Malevolent Shrine!!
It had been a while since I last used this technique, and with the nature energy in the air, I was very interested in whether it had evolved.
BOOM!!
I hadn't intended it, but a wave of Psion saturated with bloodlust and destruction poured out of me.
For a second, the fabric of reality seemed to bend, something I wanted to believe was an illusion and then everyone around me collapsed to their knees. Betty, who was still hiding outside, was not excluded.
Nothing could be seen in the atmosphere, but there was a powerful force at work. I looked down condescendingly at the 6 men, but just as I was about to talk, I paused and looked to the side.
Malevolent Shrine was an aura built on my first ever near-death experience.
Feeling both bloodlust and destruction in the air, I thought, due to the mutation, my aura had taken a different growth path, eliminating death from its repertoire, but I was wrong.
Malevolent Aura still embodied death, but this time, rather than just exude it, it inflicted it.
From my position, I could feel the lives of the six men who had let themselves be injured all for the sake of some ploy being snuffed out.
With my senses, I saw what looked like their souls being pulled out of them. The fuzzy shapes floated in the air for some seconds, then suddenly disappeared.
There were six of them, and I tried to track even one but found none.
"My Psion..."
Out of nowhere, my instincts kicked in, and I quickly ended the Malevolent Shrine, a deep breath leaving me as I realized that in this short period, I had depleted my Psion to a level where I could accurately sense its quantity.
Heavy energy consumption was the one con with using the Malevolent Shrine especially now when it seemed to have gained the ability to take the soul of those close to death. The drain was worse.
One instant, everyone was on their knees, fearing for their lives, and then the next second, the aura which had terrified them, even bringing tears to the eyes of many disappeared.
Despite the end of my heart-wrenching technique, I observed that all six men remained on their knees, their bodies trembling, and some even having their pants soaked.
I wanted to say their reactions were a little too much, but then again, I had not been on the receiving end of the technique and I had literally seen it harvest souls.
The six men had every right to be scared shitless, and perhaps even traumatized.
Something I learned though from their reaction was that these so-called Black Elites were nothing of interest to me.
Their strength was just the same as the real Abdul, Mike's subordinate's strength.
"You all have till the count of five to explain to me what is going on here, or else I will begin killing randomly."
"Snake lady, even you are included," I said, turning to an empty spot on my left.
