Her phone buzzed with a sharp double beep—it was a new notification. Yaeger glanced at her screen and saw a message from her younger sister.

Mylene: Sis! Something terrible’s happened!

‘Again?’ Yaeger groaned inwardly as an instant headache flared up. Why were so many problems surfacing today? It felt like one thing after another—nonstop.

She exhaled slowly to calm herself, then typed out a quick reply.

Yae-hime: What happened?

A reply came back in less than three seconds—practically instant.

Mylene: Sis, your real power’s been exposed!!

“Huh?” Yaeger blinked at the screen, confused. ‘That’s impossible… I’ve been extremely careful. How could anyone find out?'

Only a handful of people knew she was a Grandmaster—and they were all trustworthy. Yaeger had no reason to suspect any of them.

‘Something must’ve slipped… somewhere.' She thought it through—and then it hit her.

‘Right… Vera sold my information twice. First to lure Jordan from the Ye Family, then to bring in Hank from Dragonbane Mountain. Both are Half-Step Grandmasters, and both got crushed. It wouldn’t take much for someone to piece that together and start asking questions. Even if Old Man Tian took the fall, there’s no way he could just “happen” to appear every single time I’m attacked. That would be too suspicious.'

It became obvious to Yaeger who had let the secret slip. Still, it seemed Yaeger had overestimated Vera. She wasn’t omniscient—especially not in Cathay. There were still plenty of things beyond her knowledge and reach.

Just then, her phone chimed again, cutting off her thoughts.

Mylene: Sis! Vera posted your info—your real strength—on [Assassin’s Alliance]! Everyone’s going to know you’re a Grandmaster soon!

‘Vera. Of course it’s you, you little brat.' With her suspicions confirmed, Yaeger felt a mix of frustration and amusement. She was angry—Vera’s actions had instantly destroyed her weakling persona. Now the world would see her as a genuine powerhouse.

That was the last thing she had wanted exposed. Wasn’t it smarter to play weak, then catch her enemies off guard? Still, part of her found it amusing—now that her true power was known, maybe fewer people would dare to mess with her.

Sure, she’d make less scamming overconfident fools, but fewer confrontations sounded like a win in itself.

Unfortunately… that was just wishful thinking. Back when she was just a Pinnacle Master, Grandmasters and S-ranked Transcendents never bothered with her. But now that they stood on equal footing… things would change drastically. novelbuddy.cσ๓

Overseas, in South Korea—

“So you’re a Grandmaster who dared to hide her strength and slaughter my disciples? Princess, was it? Very well!” A man in his fifties stood within the Divine Wind Dojo, his expression grim. His white martial robes contrasted against his slightly graying hair and solid, muscular frame.

As he spoke, his aura erupted like a violent typhoon, surging outward with the force of a category-12 storm, tearing through the surroundings in all directions.

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, at the headquarters of the Small Sword Group—

“I actually broke through?” Lucky, now calm, was startled to discover that his strength had surged past the threshold. He had officially stepped into the realm of an Intermediate Grandmaster. His power had grown exponentially.

“I didn’t think my rage—and that medicine—would push me this far! Ronald Tian, that damned Princess… I’ll take both your heads once I stabilize! Hahahaha!” Clenching his fists, Lucky threw his head back and laughed maniacally, eyes blazing with murderous intent.

In that instant, he made up his mind—Yaeger would die first, then Ronald. If all went smoothly, he’d even sweep through Cathay and cement his reputation on a global scale.

At this moment, Lucky was utterly inflated with arrogance—not even Cathay’s strongest, Lisa, concerned him.

As the news of Yaeger’s Grandmaster status spread, Grandmasters and S-ranked Transcendents across the world grew restless, eager to act. Many of them bore grudges against her, but had held back—either due to their identities or the delicate political landscape in Cathay.

But with her true strength exposed, those barriers had vanished. Now, nothing could stop these top-tier powerhouses from exacting their revenge.

Of course, that was assuming they didn’t cause widespread destruction in the process. If they did, regardless of their rank—even Grandmaster or S-class—they’d be met with swift retaliation: an artillery strike. That’s why most high-tier powerhouses preferred to settle scores in disputed territories or undeveloped regions.

And before Yaeger even realized it, her enemies had already begun to move.

Back in the [City of Chaos]—

After reassuring Mylene, Yaeger turned to Vera 17 and 18 with a dazzling smile. “Rejoice, Number Seventeen and Eighteen. Soon, I’ll capture your original host and make her your subordinate.”

The two Veras exchanged a glance upon hearing that. A beat later, realization dawned—and they silently mourned their original host… for about a second.

“Master! We still need Numbers Four through Sixteen!” Little Blue chirped excitedly. She seemed even more enthusiastic than Yaeger about collecting all nineteen Veras. With all of them under one roof, she could eat, play, and laze around every day without a care in the world. Pure bliss.

“Yes, yes. I’ll catch them all,” Yaeger replied with a calm smile.

With Little Blue’s assistance, tracking down Vera and her remaining Doppelgängers would be a simple task.

‘Once everything in the game settles down, I’ll head straight to Vera’s home and shower her with love!'

She both loved and hated that troublesome little creature—and she wouldn’t be satisfied until she smothered her with affection.

Upon seeing the eerie smile creeping across Yaeger’s face, Vera 17 and 18 shivered in unison, a chill running down their spines. They had suspected something before, but now their fears were fully confirmed.

‘The original must’ve really crossed the line and offended Master…'

“Forget Vera for now,” Yaeger said, turning to Little Blue. “The priority is pacifying One, Two, and Three. Also, ramp up surveillance on Aqua Blue Star.”

Ever since glimpsing that creature lurking in the South Pacific Ocean, a deep sense of crisis had taken root in her heart—and it wasn’t going away. This Aqua Blue Star was no longer the familiar world from her past life. Now, it teemed with unknown and unpredictable dangers.

“Master, calming those three down might take some time,” Little Blue said, pursing her lips.

“I figured as much.” Yaeger nodded, then shifted her gaze toward Vera 17.

Vera 17 tilted her head, visibly puzzled by the strange look her master was giving her.

‘If only those three were as docile as Number Seventeen—a harmless weakling.'

With that thought, Yaeger smiled slyly at Little Blue. “Let’s try starvation tactics. Tell Chef One to prepare something delicious and place it just outside the guest room. Let them smell it—but not taste it. Every thirty minutes should do.”

The moment she spoke, everyone present was internally horrified. ‘Master… you’re truly a demon among demons. That’s just cruel!’
