Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife-Chapter 565: Teddy, shall I take you to find your mom?
Chapter 565: Chapter 565: Teddy, shall I take you to find your mom?
Teddy’s reaction caught Adam Piers off guard.
What surprised him even more was that after being scared by this unfamiliar man in front of him, Teddy shrank into Adam’s arms and called him, in a childish voice, "Daddy... Daddy..."
He pronounced it much clearer than when Brandon Piers left.
Adam was instantly petrified.
For a moment, he held Teddy, looking embarrassed and awkward at Brandon, suppressing the urge to flee, "Bro... Bro, calm down, let me explain!"
Brandon looked coldly at his good cousin, then glanced at the little guy who was burying his head in Adam’s arms, peeking at him now and then before quickly shrinking back, his heart ached, and he closed his eyes in pain, then walked toward his room.
The hallway quickly emptied, leaving Adam holding Teddy helplessly. He stared blankly at Brandon’s retreating figure. What did this mean?
Meanwhile, the curious little head of Teddy popped out of his embrace, looking at his trembling uncle, and then giggled.
Adam was so startled by the laughter that he froze. He reached out and covered Teddy’s small mouth, "Oh my little ancestor, Uncle begs you, please be quiet, if you go on like this, that big ancestor will take my life."
But the little ancestor in his arms paid no attention to his fate. He seemed even more amused by Adam’s actions, laughing louder. Not stopping there, the little ancestor, who had grown six teeth, treated Adam’s hand as a teething toy and bit down without letting go after laughing.
A moment ago, Adam was thinking of calming down this little ancestor, and the next moment, he was jumping up in pain, incredulously looking at the chubby baby in his arms, "Are you... a dog!"
After cursing, Adam sneakily glanced in the direction of Brandon’s room, then, patting his chest in fear, whispered to his little buddy in his arms, "Ancestor, let’s sleep!"
"Adam, who were you talking to just now, is the second young master back? Where’s Abigail?" Aunt Claudia heard the noise, walked out, and asked. Not seeing Brandon, she spoke with a trace of concealed disappointment in her eyes.
Adam looked at Aunt Claudia, somewhat helplessly pointed to Brandon’s room, and stammered, "Bro is back, but... he’s alone."
Aunt Claudia had already guessed this. Otherwise, the house wouldn’t be so quiet just before the New Year.
Her face, once full of expectation, instantly fell, and she reached out to Teddy, "Teddy, be good, come with Aunt Claudia to sleep."
This little troublemaker cried and fussed for several days after Brandon left. Adam took him out to play a few times at night, which led to the bad habit of always waking up and looking for his uncle to play with in the middle of the night.
With Brandon and Abigail not here, no one at home could bear to scold the little one, so they let him have his way.
The little one was also smart, clearly knowing who to bully and who would spoil him.
Although Adam appeared flippant, he was very attentive and soft-hearted, making him Teddy’s favorite person to boss around.
Though he couldn’t speak yet, his little arms and legs were very expressive. He reached out for what he wanted, kicked for where he wanted to go, always cunning. novelbuddy.cσ๓
But after Aunt Claudia spoke, the little guy turned around and threw himself into Adam’s arms, clearly unwilling to sleep.
Adam looked helplessly at Aunt Claudia.
"Then play a little longer, just a little," Aunt Claudia, thinking that Abigail might be gone and Teddy motherless, couldn’t bring herself to set rules for the little one.
So the little guy started crawling on the floor again. At ten months old, he had completely mastered crawling, moving very quickly. When he curiously hugged a pair of big feet, he didn’t realize his little uncle and Aunt Claudia were frozen in place, unsure whether to lift him up.
While they hesitated, Brandon—who had just taken a quick shower—picked up his son, whom he hadn’t seen for three months, ignoring his struggles and looked at Aunt Claudia, "Move all his necessities to my room."
After saying that, Brandon carried Teddy towards his room.
The sudden scare made little Teddy not realize the danger; he thought his uncle was playing with him. When he looked up and saw a strange face, he immediately burst into tears.
Not just Aunt Claudia, but even Adam, who had been playing the role of Teddy’s temporary dad for three months, couldn’t help feeling a tug at his heart, watching Brandon’s every move, almost ready to plead for him to put Teddy down–but he didn’t dare.
"Um..."
"Don’t understand?" Aunt Claudia was about to step forward to rescue Teddy, only to be interrupted by Brandon.
Seeing this, Adam sympathetically glanced at his nephew, then turned to pack Teddy’s things.
Aunt Claudia also knew the second young master had missed Teddy after not seeing him for so long and couldn’t bear to stop him. Watching the crying baby, she gave a look urging him to fend for himself.
Little George Piers didn’t understand Aunt Claudia’s look but comprehended the look of the man holding him, pouting and continuing to cry, as if accusing the man of being so fierce.
Holding his son, Brandon seemed to understand what his son meant. His mouth twitched, and he relaxed his facial muscles, trying to give what he thought was a gentle smile. But instead of stopping, Teddy cried even louder.
Luckily, Brandon had experience caring for the little guy before. He gently rocked him. As his movements became more practiced, the little guy gradually stopped crying, his big tearful eyes blinking curiously at Brandon.
Brandon looked at the little guy. Those eyes, so much like Abigail’s, made his heart ache. He couldn’t help holding the little guy tighter. "Teddy, Daddy lost Mommy. I can’t lose you too."
The little baby in his arms looked at him with a mix of understanding and confusion, his chubby little hand curiously touching Brandon’s cheek. When Brandon lowered his head, the baby even reached out his tongue to taste what Daddy felt like.
Brandon, not bothered by his nose being licked wet, gently rubbed his cheek against the baby’s face. His originally clear voice turned slightly hoarse, "Teddy, how about Daddy takes you to find Mommy?"
Before, he was wholeheartedly focused on finding Abigail. But after three months of searching, he hadn’t found Abigail, and his son didn’t recognize him. If he found Abigail eventually, how would he explain?
Moreover, at their first meeting, the unfamiliar look from Teddy was like a needle piercing the most painful part of his heart. He had already lost Abigail; he couldn’t lose his son too.
Aunt Claudia and Adam had worried Teddy would continue crying. But when they came out, they saw Brandon gently rocking Teddy. The little guy had fallen asleep in Brandon’s arms, clutching his shirt fearfully, as if afraid of being let go.
"Put him in my room. I’ll take care of him tonight," Brandon whispered.
After saying that, he carried Teddy into his room. Seeing this, Aunt Claudia no longer hesitated and moved all of Teddy’s milk powder, bottles, diapers, and bibs into Brandon’s room.
Before leaving, Aunt Claudia wanted to ask the whereabouts of Abigail, but seeing Brandon’s thin appearance, she couldn’t bear to ask and closed the door quietly.
