Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband-Chapter 573: Not kidnapping..just offering a ride.
She was right about one thing, she was a different person, Phoebe noticed. Her grandmother had been spot on, this Ophelia was different in a way that her voice commanded authority, she was confident and held her head high. From her neatly styled hair to her well-manicured nails and expensive accessories, she seemed to be dripping with money and elegance.
Even her physical appearance had been altered, her skin was tighter and wrinkle free. She had gone through a few rounds of botox. Her nose and lips had also gone under the knife. All this change did not necessary make her drop dead gorgeous, it just took some years off her face.
Her waist and butt were no different, her breasts had doubled in size and her once flat bum was now round as a peach.
If you bumped into her without knowing her past, you would assume that she was just any other wealthy woman living in Citrus city with a love for going under the knife to fight her natural age.
"You bought yourself a new face and some nice titties Ophelia." Maureen commented.
Ophelia's face soured.
"Someone is sponsoring this sudden change, and I bet that it is Ruth, where is she?" Phoebe's voice lashed out, a whip-crack of contempt.
Ophelia accidentally pinched the arm of the last customer that had yet to escape. She was holding onto the young woman as if they were sisters or somehow related.
"Excuse me, I think that I will take my leave now." The young woman tried to wrench her arm out of Ophelia's grip. She could sense tension and trouble, and she wanted nothing to do with it. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"No,no,no you have no reason to leave, do not be afraid of anyone. These people will leave just like those nosy ladies that were here earlier." Ophelia pulled out a comb from the pocket over the apron tied around her waist with one hand.
None the less, the young woman continued to struggle. "I don't want to stay; you can't make me." She pushed Ophelia aside and run away.
"You are ruining my business, get out. Out, now!" Ophelia screamed.
Maureen scoffed. "Did you get some work done on your vocal cords too? How dare you try to do business in our city? If you know what is good for you, just answer our questions. Did you not hear my niece? Where is that serpent Ruth?" She yelled.
"I am certain that she is the one giving you all this money to splurge and she probably funded the plastic body too. Is it why you are grateful to her? I do not even understand it; Ruth is wicked to you so why are you loyal to her?" Phoebe asked, her patience running thin.
Letting out a long and bitter laugh, Ophelia's gaze sized Phoebe. "I see that you have not let go of your inferiority complex and I cannot blame you, Miss Ruth is someone that will always make you feel insecure because she was born to be great.
It doesn't matter that your little Mayfair family threw her out, she will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. Unlike you, no matter how you were raised, you are nothing but trailer trash." Her mockery could be detected in every syllable.
A loud groan rumbled in Maureen's chest. "Just let me punch her just once, please I am begging you. I will send her back to the factory for a reset, she will need new body parts by the time I am through with her." She pleaded.
Again, Ophelia laughed, this time the laugh was short and sarcastic. "You seem to think that I am weak and helpless. Do you all think that I did not prepare for such shenanigans." She let out a loud but short whistle.
At once, men sprinted towards them, footsteps pounding like war drums as they came out of the rooms at the back.
There was one more client in the shop, a maid left behind by Debbie Darling to get firsthand gossip on what was happening between Ophelia and the Mayfair's. She stood up, panic settling on her features when she saw guns being drawn. "Okay this is my queue." She tossed the towel aside and strolled away.
Ophelia meanwhile had a smug look on her face. She had the advantage in numbers and her men were armed. "You are surrounded so leave this place before they beat you black and blue especially you." She jutted her chin towards Phoebe. "Unless you want to lose that rascal bastard child that you are carrying." Ophelia hissed, hatred coating her last words.
That was when Maureen lost it, somehow her hands made their way to the back of the woman's head. She dragged her to the floor and began to strike her without restraint.
Meanwhile, David's men who were joined by a few Elithera men overpowered those of Ophelia. They were battered until they were more bruise than flesh. Maureen erased their memories before Sean and Pike drove them to the hospital.
"Take her." David gestured at Ophelia.
Roman threw Ophelia over his shoulders like a sack of stale unwanted wheat. For some reason, he wrinkled his nose as if she stunk. Ophelia was screaming like a shrew, fighting as hard as she could not to be taken. It had not dawned on her that the Mayfair's were no longer the civil law-abiding soft people they used to be.
"Let me go, I will call the police, I am protected, do you hear me! I am protected. You will pay fo-for this I can promise you! When my master finds out he will crush you all. You founding families think that you are untouchable, but you are not my master will deal with you!" The words were a knife twisting in her bloody lips, but she needed them to hear them.
Roman paused in his trucks. "Your master? Who the hell is that? Perhaps you could be so kind to share that information with us willingly." His intrigued eyes stared at David.
"Wait!" Ophelia stopped wriggling like a serpent in the predator's grip. "That voice! I know that voice. I can never forget it; you are the man that tortured me." She forced the words through chattering teeth. "Does that mean that David Saxon was the one that kidnapped me! Help....hel..." The words dissolved into silence because Maureen's punch deleted her voice mid-sentence.
Those that were not aware including Phoebe traded gazes. "You have kidnapped her before?" She asked David who remained unbothered.
"Who kidnapped her? I just asked my men to give her a ride to the airport. Sometimes cars break down and take detours so you don't know how long a ride will last. Even now, we are not kidnapping her, we are offering her a ride. She is a tenant in a building that I just bought, and she is refusing to evacuate peacefully." He answered.
Phoebe, Andre and Mayfair's jaws nearly dropped.
"Boss? Should we get to work from here. This master thing sounds like the person we have been looking for." Roman stared at David.
"We will get all those answers once we get to the safe house, take her." David instructed in a cold voice.
