Reincarnated as an Energy with a System-Chapter 1718: Spear Attributes
[Ding!]
[You have received a quest.]
Ning was surprised to see the new quest. It was the exact same quest as the one he had just received rewards for. He had saved all the soldiers and that had given him 40 more points.
And now, he was looking to gain 40 more. He just had to save them from this fight too.
Ning rushed forward at once, seeing the trajectory of the arrow that would be coming toward them. They were entirely invisible, but the hot arrow left behind a trail in the air just barely enough for Ning to follow it.
He jumped right in front of it, turning his body into iron at the same time. The arrow hit him square in the chest, throwing him back into the ground, but he wasn't hurt.
That, and the others were safe. That was really all that mattered to him at this moment.
Her voice came booming from far away next. "You have killed soldiers of the Empire. You shall be killed for this treason."
Ning felt anger boiling inside of him. "Fuck your empire!" he shouted right back at her.
The woman seemed stunned for a moment before she began drawing her bow. At the same time, many of her soldiers got off the horseback and began charging toward them.
"Get ready!" Ning shouted back at the people. "Prepare for another battle."
Everyone haphazardly put on what pieces of armor they could and took on the swords that they had taken from the corpses.
"Ning!" Shara shouted, pointing the spear she held. She wanted to give it to him.
"Keep it," Ning said. "You need to arm yourself."
"What about you?" she asked.
Ning smiled. "I think it's time I use a new spear altogether."
It somehow felt both stupid and right to spend 25 points for what he was about to do next.
A spear flashed before him, appearing out of nowhere. It was a black spear with deep grooves of crimson red that seemed to glow with the sunlight. It had an intricate but overall smooth shaft that was cold like obsidian.
The tip of the spear was triangular and flat, both black and red in color, and had two prongs coming out of the side that seemed just as sharp as well.
For 25 points, he was allowed to buy a weapon of his choice, and he chose a spear. And the quality of the spear was much higher than anything one could make in this world. One would have to travel to another world to find spears as good as this one.
Not only did 25 points allow him to buy this spear, but it also gave him 2 minor attributes with the spear.
Ning had no time to check what those attributes were another arrow had come flying in his direction. Once again, he could not see the arrow. All he could go by was the sight, and now that he had experienced it once, sound.
The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.
He could hear the whistling of the arrow and immediately knew it was far higher than him, targeting the men in the back.
He immediately jumped in the air and swung the spear, hitting the arrow right out of the sky, causing an explosion of hot air to blast right next to him. It was no different than staring directly into a pot of boiling water for a brief moment.
The heat was there but it disappeared immediately. If he had been attacked directly with the arrow, however, the situation would've been different.
'I have my powers for that situation,' Ning thought.
The soldiers rushed toward him and at that point, he realized that his previous estimation of 2 dozen had been wrong. There had been more soldiers there, nearly 40 in total.
The battle was going to be a lot more difficult than he had previously expected it to be.
The soldiers behind him rushed to help him as well, so soon the battle took on a chaotic turn as people clashed together.
Ning ignored the rest of the fight, stepping into the battle himself. His opponents were two soldiers in strong armor, holding a well-made sword.
They began swinging at him and from that alone, he could tell that these soldiers were no undead. The woman, at the very least, was not a necromancer.
That was good.
Ning slid in between the two soldiers, his spear sliding next to him, pointed toward the man. He stabbed it forward and found his hands suddenly becoming heavier than he had expected them to, striking the chest of the man in a rather loud bang.
The spear dented the armor in one strike, sending the soldier stumbling backward.
"What?" Ning looked at the spear, confused.
He quickly turned toward the sword slash coming from his left and lifted his left arm to grab the sword as it came for him. With his entire arm turned to iron at the last moment, he only grunted a little from the force of the attack and nothing more.
He swung the spear sideways and found it heavier again than it was supposed to be. The force it generated was enough to knock the soldier sideways.
Ning frowned a little, not understanding just what was happening.
He looked at the spear to see what attributes it had gotten and couldn't help but smile when he saw two that were quite good.
The first was the Momentum Generation. Meaning the more he swung the spear around, the more momentum it gathered, giving it an added strength.
The second was Health Drain. Each time he hurt someone, it healed him a little. The one he hurt had to be something living and it had to be wounded for him to heal.
They were both minor attributes, however, so he couldn't go crazy with the spear, but still, it was quite amazing for just 25 points.
Considering he had gained over 40 points just earlier from saving all of the soldiers, he didn't feel like he was wasting it. Even after this, he still had enough points to buy the dimensional storage.
