Reincarnated Lord: I can upgrade everything!-Chapter 358: Bargain
As Ragnar, the massive orc, submerged beneath the water's surface, he was met with a chilling sight.
Over seventy sentinels, their bodies unscathed by the blast, emerged from the depths, their eyes fixed intently on him.
With synchronized precision, they formed a circular formation, their icy glaive blades glinting in the faint light that penetrated the water's surface.
Then, in a flash of movement, the sentinels surged forward as one, their blades poised to strike. Meanwhile, Asher stood at the ship's bow, his eyes narrowing as he gazed out at the water.
A crimson stain began to spread outward, tinting the surface with a deadly hue.
Just then, a sentinel erupted from the water, landing lightly on the ship to Asher's right.
The sentinel's white plume dripped water, and his impressive armored form leaned forward in a gesture of reverence.
In his hand, he held the severed head of Ragnar, the massive orc. More sentinels emerged from the water, their soaked cloaks and plumes creating puddles on the floorboards.
Jonah's gaze swept over the 40 sentinels before him, his voice deepening with a mix of grief and anger.
"We lost 60 men?"
The sentinel's reply was somber. "Thirty couldn't survive the blast, My Lord. Those who survived fought the orc, and although we emerged victorious, it came at the cost of 20 more men."
Jonah's jaw clenched, his teeth grinding in frustration. He lifted his head, his gaze sweeping over the carnage in the valley – the corpses, the hundreds of orcs still alive.
His voice rose, cold and deadly. "Kill every last one of them!"
The battle cry echoed through the air as the soldiers on each ship leapt into action.
"Kill!" They hollered, their eyes glowing with an eerie blue light.
They sprinted across the water's surface, their armored forms creating a stunning spectacle.
"For Okeanos! For Lord Jonah!"
The orcs watched in horror, frozen in shock, as the tide of armored men seemed to defy gravity, running across the water with deadly purpose.
Asher's men watched in awe, equally stunned by the display.
In a mere hour, the battle was won, and the orcs lay vanquished.
The valley, once a scene of carnage and chaos, was now a somber landscape of death. The sentinels, with their gleaming blue armor, pristine white cloaks, and majestic plumes, moved through the valley with a quiet reverence.
Their presence was a stark contrast to the gruesome aftermath of the battle, a jarring juxtaposition of beauty and brutality. The air was heavy with the weight of death, and the sentinels' deliberate movements seemed to acknowledge the gravity of the sacrifice that had been made.
Asher frowned.
Jonah clearly didn't want him to do anything, especially after risking his life for the city.
He didn't see a fault in that.
[Ding!]
Asher's eyes went to the notification. Surprisingly it was the similar with the one he got after the brutal battle against the young red dragon.
[Materials for upgrade found: 3 dragon carcass. With these three, including the other one, which you have purchased you would be able to drastically increase the technology of your domain in matters pertaining to war.]
'You've mentioned this before and the amount they called is big. I still haven't paid yet and you want me to purchase three more! Amongst them is a mature dragon!'
[With the meat of these carcasses your soldiers' physiques will be upgraded from a knight's physique to a beast physique. Meaning human soldiers will be comparable to bear beastmen in terms of strength, durability and in certain cases, size!]
Asher's eyes lit up.
[The bones can also be infused to create war titans, a beast capable of moving formidable war machines into battlefields.]
Asher quickly remembered the sketches of massive rhinos that could carry four ballistas which were protected by metal shields.
These were like Modern tanks. With them on a battlefield, he could mow through his enemies.
Now that the mortal scroll mentioned it, Asher realized he could invest in the technology, increasing the gap between him and others.
For now, the technology of his armour could be considered superior to that of almost all the lord's on Tenaria because the system was the creator.
This was why he had his blacksmiths study each armor the system creates, get the blueprint and store it.
In a way he was using the system.
The only armour that wasn't worth studying was the armour the Adeptus Paladins were clad in. This armour was made from Elden ore, it was far beyond the capabilities of his blacksmiths.
Besides, there was no way to find more Elden ore. The system itself confirmed that.
"I have a request, Lord Jonah."
Hearing tha, Jonah's heart stilled. "These dragons are in our land, Lord Asher and we need their carcasses."
Asher smiled. "I still want them and I'm ready to trade for them?"
Jonah scowled. "My wife isn't here to force me anymore. There is nothing that will make me accept—"
"You would reject a blueprint for gold-ranked armour?""W-What?!" Jonah swiveled from the valley toward Asher, his attention totally on him.
"Most of your sentinels are diamond-ranked knights but all of them are clad in silver-ranked armour. If you can't tell, these men behind me are imperial-ranked knights clad in imperial-ranked armours."
Jonah faltered. "You!" His voice trembled. "You want to tell me that these 200 are wearing armour that is equivalent to 20,000 gold coins each!"
"Would you trade these carcasses for a gold-ranked armour blueprint?"
"You had this and you made me trade the first corpse for caressing your wolf! I will only trade it for two blueprints."
"Done."
Jonah furrowed his brows. This man…, no, this young lord was beyond his comprehension. Imperial-ranked armour in all its splendor was before his eyes all these while!
It didn't even occur to him what rank these armour were. How shortsighted he was!

"Since there is nothing left to do here. I shall continue to my domain, preparing for your eventual visit. I shall also grant you intricate iron ore for six months and you don't need to pay a dime."
'Intricate Iron ore! My goodness, what land does this man live in?!' Jonah's pupils shook.
