Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire-Chapter 306: Deal with them like with the rest
The main part of the reinforcements immediately went in the direction Whisper pointed out, but their Lieutenant sent three Beemarines with experience as field medics to help Whisper out.
They bandaged her wounds with honeyed cloth, while the loud stomping of humans' giant boots shook the earth and their sisters' buzzing could be heard in the distance.
"Those are bad wounds," one Beemarine noted, shaking her head. "You probably have broken bones. Hold strong."
Whisper winced. After the rush of fight left her, the pain steadily grew unbearable. But she bore it anyway.
'Just think about what a hero you are, Whisper,' she told herself, and focused on that and watched what was going on around.
The reinforcements quickly helped to deal with the second hornet. By then, three more flew to the area, but the overwhelming forces of bees killed them quickly.
Several large combat patrols came to the area. Bloodimina was notified of the danger and sent out scouts to search for the hornets' nest.
This and other news Whisper heard from her bed in bees' field hospital, to which she has been confined for a foreseeable future, with only a bit of painkillers to help her out.
"You have four broken bones and lost a full jar of blood," a Physician told her when Whisper asked when she could return to her human. "Forget about work! Even with your genes, you won't recover for at least two weeks! We will do our best to prevent long-term traumas. You are lucky that your wings aren't torn. But you might lose some of your agility."
Even her human visited her! At least, he approached the wooden box which hosted Bloodimina's field camp and prayed for Whisper's health and recovery from the "demonic attack".
While Whisper was wounded, another Agent Bee was sent to guard Farini, and she sent Whisper his caring words, as well as those from many other bees.
Even the other wounded bees who were lying in the hospital were congratulating Whisper after hearing how she defeated a hornet one on one!
"You'd make a fine Beemarine," they said.
"You have the spirit of ten Warriors, Agent Whisper!"
"I wish I saw this fight myself—I hope some Artist will hear about it and make a theater play to show it to people all over the Empire! It certainly deserves it!
Whisper was also surprised to hear well-wishes from Father himself! From the telepathic chain, of course, but it still warmed her heart.
But telepathy was the primary way she got her news in the two weeks that she spent recovering.
In that time, the world passed Whisper by, and she only heard about what was going on.
The human builders were fearful and alarmed because of the sudden death of two people—the second stung man didn't survive it. They wondered what kind of thing could've killed two people so quickly, and if this was a punishment for heresy against the traditional way of venerating gods.
This could've turned ugly, but Farini quickly organized the funeral for the dead and calmed the living. He declared that the attack of venomous bugs was a work of witches working with the High King to prevent the temple of Dalmanrach from being built.
And while witches were scary, Farini immediately proposed a way to protect the building site from them.
Now humans were working while surrounded by smoke of aromatic incense. Although it wasn't Farini's plan, it scrambled the smelling of bees and hornets alike, and actually protected humans from stings and not just calmed their minds.
Whisper felt proud on behalf of her human, since it was his plan, and not his temporary Agent's.
'Yeah. The best human for the best Agent, he-he-he,' she replied to Farini's temporary Agent after she told her this news. freewebnσvel.cøm
'Sister, you are shameless… Well, you deserve to be, ha-ha-ha!' the Agent replied. 'I will pass him your kind words so you don't have to send one-way messages.'
After this, the temple building continued with only a slight delay. Although B666666's team was halved in the attack, the survivors worked twice as hard. Two days later, twenty more Builder Bees flew from Hive Supremo on a dragon to join B666666.
But not everything was smooth.
Now that Farini knew what to search for, he found evidence of two dogs and a woman who likely died from stings, although there was no evidence left to confirm it.
Meanwhile, the hornets continued their attacks, now almost exclusively targeting the temple site. There were three attacks in a single day, and although Beemarines killed the attackers every time, there were losses among bees.
Even with Beemarines to sniff the hornets out before they could ambush someone, the hornets ambushed people anyway. They flew faster than their scent, and they flew silently, pouncing on people from behind.
Bloodimina's scouts flew fast to track the hornets' scent to their nest. The creatures weren't as sneaky as the evolved paper wasps.
By the next morning, they discovered the nest, well-hidden under an abandoned human building.
The scouts described that this hornets' nest, unlike any other, was eerily quiet, save for the quiet clicking and hissing of the hornets' language. This clicking didn't end even at night—while most creatures slept, some hornets kept guarding the nest.
And there were hundreds, perhaps thousands, of the hornets. It would've been near impossible to sneak inside to set the place on fire like usual.
That's why, after some thinking, Bloodimina gave Agents a proposal that Farini executed soon after.
A group of Farini's devoted followers cut the old building from nearby houses, poured some flammable oil on it and set the entire place on fire.
While they did this, Bloodimina's forces had to guard them from alarmed hornets. Several thousand Beemarines fought against several dozens of hornets, even as the fire started behind them, getting larger and larger by a minute.
Whisper really wished she was there to see how the place burned.
But she *was* going to be there to see the temple of Dalmanrach being completed!
