After Chu Wuyao swallowed the golden drop of essence blood, she no longer paid attention to Three-Tails and closed her gem-like eyes, focusing on suppressing the blood essence's assimilation of her blood.

Compared to the last time when she swallowed the blood essence of a Level 3 Monster, the Gem Beast, the process of swallowing the blood essence of Three-Tails was now a little easier, perhaps as a result of the fact that her strength had improved.

Even so, it was still bound to take some time to completely resist the side effects of practicing the Bloodline Tome.

On the other hand, Three-Tails watched Chu Wuyao swallow her blood essence but she didn't have any strong feelings about it.

There were many techniques and awakened abilities that could make use of blood essence, and even without them, swallowing the blood essence of other creatures was slightly helpful to monsters.

However, the sight in front of her allowed her to understand why the corpses of all the monsters Chu Wuyao had killed had turned into mummies.

When she remembered this, Three-Tails couldn't help but feel regretful.

Why did she have to take the initiative and go to kill that invader?

If she had stayed still, then she would have been free right now and would have not lost her freedom!

Unfortunately, although Three-Tails understood this truth, she discovered it a little too late.

Now that she had signed that inexplicable contract, it would be hard for her to get rid of Chu Wuyao's control any time soon.

Shaking her head, Three-Tails suppressed these thoughts, and glancing at Chu Wuyao who was practicing, she chose to leave.

Ignoring the weakness in her body that was caused by the accumulated injuries and the extraction of her blood essence, she pushed the door open and walked out.

Once outside, a hint of rosiness appeared on her pale face and her originally hunched back was raised as if she had not been injured at all.

However, this was just a mere illusion.

Three-Tails knew that she would either have to practice for a few months or she would have to swallow various precious resources to truly recover.

"If those four guys learned of my current state, they would surely try to take advantage of my weakness and expand their territory.", Three-Tails couldn't help but think, but she wasn't too worried about this.

Taking a look at the hall behind her and thinking of the creature that was living inside, she was confident that she could repel them with ease.

"However, I can't just bet the fate of the Fox Tribe on whether she will choose to take action.", Three-Tails believed that she should try to increase the Fox Tribe's importance in Chu Wuyao's mind.

At the very least, she must ensure that Chu Wuyao will take action if anyone threatens them.

With that in mind and thinking of Chu Wuyao's previous instructions, she suddenly had an idea.

Immediately, her mind focused and she extended her perception around, before sending a message to all the elders of the Fox Tribe to them over for a meeting.

Then, she didn't stay here any longer and left in a hurry, ready to prepare herself for what was about to come.

The moment Three-Tails left, Chu Wuyao opened her eyes and glanced briefly at her leaving back.

After she nodded her head slightly in satisfaction, she closed her eyes again and turned her attention back to suppressing the blood essence's assimilation, striving to improve her strength as much as possible.

Less than an hour later, twelve figures that looked like humans but possessed fox features like tails and ears were standing in a hall, awaiting the arrival of their Queen, Three-Tails.

While they were waiting, the elders of the Fox Tribe didn't stay silent but chatted with each other in a low voice, curious about why the Fox Queen had called them over.

The elder who received the most attention among them was a man whose drooping ears and tails revealed his old age, while a light of wisdom flashed in his eyes.

"Sage, do you know why the Fox Queen held this meeting?"

"Why didn't this meeting take place in the usual hall?"

"Did something happen?"

Various questions were addressed to the so-called Sage, but no one was surprised to see this as this was a normal occurrence.

The Sage was actually the oldest member of the Fox Tribe and excluding the Fox Queen, he was also the strongest.

Of course, what he was most known for was not his strength nor his seniority, but his extraordinary wisdom.

In fact, while the Fox Queen was most of the time practicing in seclusion, the person who took charge of the Fox Tribe was the Sage and he was one of the major reasons why the tribe had developed so quickly in the past decades.

Unfortunately, although the Sage had a suspicion regarding the reason behind today's meeting, he knew better than to say his guess out loud.

Especially when he remembered the scene of the Fox Queen "being ridden on", he felt that today's meeting might have an everlasting effect on the Fox Tribe.

When the other elders saw that the Sage chose to remain silent, they didn't feel that anything was wrong but they instead became even more curious.

Turning around, they began whispering in a low voice, with each of them voicing their guess.

Time quickly went by under their lively conversations, and just when the elders thought that they were getting closer to the "truth", the door of the hall suddenly swung open and a familiar figure stepped inside.

"Queen!"

"Fox Queen!"

All the elders in the room subconsciously lowered their heads and saluted respectfully, including the Sage.

"Click... Click... Click."

The slow footsteps of Three-Tails spread in the hall and echoed in the ears of every elder, but no matter what, they didn't dare to raise their heads.

It was only when she sat on the main seat and waved her hand that these elders finally got up and looked at her.

Admiration, respect, and excitement flashed in the eyes of most elders, but what they didn't notice was that the originally calm Sage could hardly suppress his inner shock.

Although he was only at Level 2 and wasn't too strong, his vision and knowledge were still extraordinary, as evidenced by the fact that he was considered the wisest among all the members of the tribe.

As such, he was able to notice that despite what Three-Tails' outward appearance would suggest, she was currently quite weak, as if she had suffered great damage.

He wanted to speak and ask what happened, but he remained silent in the end, waiting for the Fox Queen to speak.

Fortunately, Three-Tails didn't keep him or the other elders waiting for long, and under their curious expressions, she opened her mouth to speak:

"I ordered everyone to gather here today to announce something important."

"From today onwards, the position of the Supreme Elder will be added to the Fox Tribe."

"The status of the Supreme Elder is above mine, and everyone, including me, will have to obey their orders from now on."

Saying this, Three-Tails raised her head and glanced at the shocked elders with a cold expression before continuing:

"Does anyone object?"

As soon as these words fell, angry voices spread throughout the hall.

"How dare you betray the Fox Tribe?!"

"Traitor! Traitor!"

But soon, these voices came to an abrupt stop, followed by the sound of something falling to the floor.

Half an hour later, the door of the hall opened once again and the elders of the Fox Tribe walked out.

But compared to the excitement they had when they arrived, their faces now flashed with a mix of various emotions.

These emotions included disbelief, anger, and hatred, as well as disappointment, fear, and despair.

Among them, only the Sage's expression remained unchanged and it was unknown whether this was because he had lived for a long time and had seen many things or because he had previously suspected something.

Walking beside the Sage, a female elder took count of the people around her and found that the original twelve people had now become less than ten, causing her eyes to become filled with sorrow.

"Sage, why did the Fox Queen do this?", she couldn't help but ask, hoping to get a reasonable answer, but in response to her question, Sage could only smile bitterly.

"There must be a reason why the Queen made such a decision."

"Whatever the reason, we must choose to believe in the Queen. She will never betray the Fox Tribe!", the Sage spoke, trying to comfort everyone.

If it was any other time, his words of comfort might have worked, but having just witnessed the "betrayal" of the Fox Queen and the death of their companions, it was hard for the elders to believe this.

Seeing this, the Sage could only shake his head and stare at the small statue that was given to him by the Fox Queen.

The statue was beautifully made and was quite lifelike, depicting a colorful creature with a head that resembled a snake and four thick, powerful limbs.

Although he had never seen this creature before, the Sage had read its description in a book before and recognized it.

"It's a Gem Beast..."

"But why did the Queen ask us to worship it and offer it our faith?", he wondered.

At the same time, sitting on the throne located at the deepest part of the palace, Chu Wuyao stared at the space in front of her and her eyes penetrated through the walls, allowing her to become witness to everything that happened during and after the meeting.

Seeing that the elders of the Fox Tribe were resistant to Three-Tails' orders, Chu Wuyao was neither surprised nor disappointed.

"It doesn't matter what those guys think. As long as Three-Tails gives an order, they can only choose to complete it faithfully."

"Those that truly wanted to disobey her have already died...", she whispered.

This was a world where power reigned supreme and as long as a person was strong enough, they would never have to worry about their subordinates betraying them or disobeying their orders.

Although Three-Tails had indeed suffered some injuries and her strength had weakened as a result, she was still a real Level 3 Monster, while the elders were only at Level 2.

It was already hard for Shackles Realm cultivators to fight against Awakening Realm cultivators, but it was actually even harder when it came to monsters.

This was because, unlike humans, the vast majority of monsters only focused on improving their strength and didn't care about forging Magic Weapons or practicing alchemy.

As such, without the help of Magic Weapons and pills that could enhance combat power, it was extremely difficult to bridge the gap between Level 2 and Level 3.

This was especially true in the current situation, where Three-Tails and the elders were both members of the same race and possessed the same characteristics, fighting style, and most importantly, abilities.

"Now that the seeds have been planted, I only need to wait."

"As long as nothing goes wrong and some time passes, I should be able to use this place as my starting point to gradually obtain more and more influence..."
