Arthur's jaw tightened as he watched Kara float in the air, her eyes burning with an unnatural crimson glow six irises swirling like whirlpools of hellfire. The air around her cracked and warped, heat radiating off her skin.

"Damn it," Arthur muttered under his breath, voice grim. "It was a bad idea to bring her here... How did I not take this into consideration knowing his powers..."

Her voice echoed, layered in distortion Trigon's presence thick in every word.

"Your efforts are meaningless. Earth shall burn next after I'm done with you, with my fire and vessels."

John Constantine stood nearby, thumbing the edges of a glowing sigil between his fingers. "Don't worry, mate. I can still exor.."

He didn't even finish.

Kara blurred.

A sonic boom cracked the air as she shot toward John like a missile, her arm cocked back for a killing blow. Her fist glowed red hot moments away from turning his head to dust.

"John, MOVE!"

Arthur's voice roared like thunder.

With a swipe of his hand, Ruler's Authority flared. A massive force slammed into Constantine, hurling him out of harm's way just in time.

Arthur attacked right after. He met Kara mid-flight, intercepting her with a devastating kick that launched her back, stone cracking beneath her impact. She stood, unbothered, smoke swirling from her boots as six hellish beams flared to life behind her.

Arthur's eyes narrowed.

He could feel it now Trigon's influence fully awakened in her Kryptonian body. This wasn't Kara anymore. It was a completely different being.

"She's faster... stronger," Arthur muttered. "He's fully in control."

Kara launched herself again. This time, Arthur was ready.

He surged forward with [Speed Step] slamming into her mid-air. They crashed into the wall of the gate , stone exploding around them as fists and elbows blurred in rapid exchange. Arthur ducked a burning uppercut, countered with a rising knee, then spun midair and slammed his elbow into her spine only to be caught by her wrist.

Kara snarled, Trigon's voice bleeding through.

"You are weak."

She threw him like a ragdoll. Arthur flipped midair, landed on one knee, and raised his hand.

Ruler's Authority.

Invisible force cracked through the air and slammed into her but she resisted, sliding back only inches before heat vision tore from all six of her glowing eyes.

Just then, Ultra appeared in a violet blur of motion, his cape trailing like a comet tail.

"Kneel to the Monarch, false god!" he shouted, twin heat rays meeting Kara's in a seismic blast that shook the area.

Galatea swooped in next, adding her heat vision as well into the fray.

"Demon bastard!"

The triple vision clash was blinding beams locked in a dazzling explosion of light. Kara, possessed, growled and leaned in. Her six eyes poured out molten rage.

"You think this body is bound by your petty physics?"

Suddenly she vanished moving faster than ever.

Galatea didn't even see the punch coming. Kara hit her in the stomach with such force she folded midair and was launched straight into a pillar, cracking it in two. Debris rained.

Ultra gritted his teeth, his eyes glowing as he powered up another blast...too slow.

Kara grabbed him by the face.

"I tire of you."

With monstrous strength, she slammed him into the ground, dragged him along the stone floor like a comet, and threw him upward. She blinked behind him midair, drove her fist into his gut, then roared all six beams blasting into him point-blank.

Ultra was hurled into the distance like a meteor, disappearing in a smoking streak of violet light.

Hovering above the ruined battlefield, Kara possessed by Trigon turned slowly to face Arthur. Her red cape flared behind her like the wings of a fallen angel, six hellfire eyes burning with cruel delight.

"You're holding back," she said, voice layered with Trigon's infernal depth. "Where are your toys, human? The shiny blades... your other fancy shadow pawns..."

She tilted her head, a mockery of curiosity slowly drifting closer, heat radiating off her skin.

"Could it be... you're afraid?" Her mouth curled in a wicked grin. "Afraid your precious Kryptonian might get hurt if you went all out?"

Arthur hovered midair, silent, his armor cracked from the battle. His fists clenched and with a low hum, the Doomsday Gauntlets materialized over his arms. spikes, bone, and shadow coiled around his fists like the hands of an ancient titan.

Kara/Trigon chuckled. "So weak. You disappoint me.. I overestimated you... After all... you're just a man. A mere mortal. Flesh and blood."

Arthur's head rose.

"I've been called many things," he said coldly. "But 'just a man'..."

The air cracked as shadows flared across his body.

"That is a mistake."

With a thunderclap, he launched upward, meeting Kara mid-charge with a fist cloaked in monstrous energy. Their collision shattered the air like glass, a sonic boom blasting fire demons away for miles.

Below,

Raven lay cradled in Doom's massive hands, sweat beading her brow, shadows trembling around her. Her breath came in sharp rasps, her strength almost gone but her eyes never left the sky above.

"He's... more dangerous now," she whispered, voice hoarse.

She saw it clearly the way Arthur fought, no longer hesitating. The rage in his fists. The resolve in his stance.

Raven's eyes glowed faint violet for a moment, the magic inside her stirring.

"I need to save them."

With trembling limbs, she pushed herself out of Doom's grasp. The massive shadow growled in confusion, his arm reaching after her protectively but she waved him off, her legs nearly giving beneath her weight.

Not far away...

Zatanna and John Constantine were neck-deep in fire demons, hurling sigils and spells left and right. Flames licked the walls, and the shadow demons barely held the line.

John blasted a demon with a rune-covered stake, then spun toward Zatanna.

"These bloody things won't stop!" he yelled over the chaos. "Even with Arthur's shadows, as long as that bastard's still here.."

He turned his head and froze.

Just beyond them, Raven was walking. Alone. Fragile. Stumbling toward the center of the battlefield... toward Arthur... toward Trigon.

Her arms shook with every step. Her cloak dragged behind her like a shroud.

John's cigarette fell from his lips.

"Oh, dammit all," he muttered. "What the hell is she planning now?"

****

In the sky above

Arthur and Kara clashed again high above the scorched battlefield, fists cracked against flesh with enough force to rupture the very air. Shockwaves blasted through the flaming ruins, sending molten stone and broken demons flying in all directions.

Arthur and Kara possessed by Trigon were locked in a brutal aerial brawl, fists colliding like meteors. Her movements were relentless, savage. Each strike from her came with the strength of a god.

Arthur grit his teeth as he parried a devastating blow, his gauntlet scraping against her burning knuckles with a roar of impact.

'Damn it...' he thought, sweat dripping into his eyes. 'My mana's draining fast... Constantly using Kryptonian flight, Speed Step, this pace is unsustainable.'

His eyes flicked to his gauntlets. "I still don't have the Black Heart. My reserves are limited. And this bastard... this bastard's going to push me to my absolute limit if I don't end this soon."

Suddenly he blinked.

Too slow.

BOOM!

Kara's flaming fist slammed into his ribs. The world spun, and Arthur was launched from the sky, crashing into the ground below like a meteor. The earth quaked, a crater forming from the sheer impact. Dust and embers exploded around him as he lay half-buried in stone, his breath ragged.

Hovering above him, Kara/Trigon descended with fire licking her limbs, eyes glowing with apocalyptic light.

"You will be cursed for all eternity in my realm," she said, her voice echoing like a funeral bell across the plane. "Your soul... broken."  freewebnøvel.coɱ

She raised her hand, hellfire swirling around her palm.

But then another voice rang out.

A weak, pained voice.

"Wait! Father."

The world seemed to pause.

Kara/Trigon halted midair, six burning eyes flicking sideways.

Arthur stirred, lifting his head in the crater, coughing through cracked lips. His heart skipped.

"...Raven?"

He turned and there she was.

Wounded, barely standing, her body trembling with every step. A violet glow shimmered weakly from her hands as she stood in the path between Arthur and Kara.

'What is she...' Arthur whispered to himself, rising to one knee.

Raven revealing a tear-streaked cheeks and haunted eyes. Her voice cracked but carried unwavering resolve.

"I will do it, Father."

Trigon's essence twitched inside Kara's body.

Kara's possessed form slowly descended, her expression unreadable.

"And what will you do, daughter?" Trigon's voice came from her lips, ancient and mocking. "Give in? Truly become my bridge to earth? Finally accept your destiny?"

Raven's fists clenched. Her aura flared.

But her words came quiet and calm.

"Yes." she said.
