Sorcerer Supreme at Hogwarts (English Versión)-Chapter 189: Confrontation
Chapter 189 - Confrontation
Confrontation
Today, everyone had gathered in the virtual world after class. Although Stephen and Wanda, as professors"or something like that"should've been working, it was clear they had something important planned. It had only been a few weeks since they defeated the evil god threatening their world, so they could finally take a breather... and enjoy a good fight.
Everyone assembled in the virtual coliseum. Jordan and the Weasley twins sat in the commentators' section, with floating microphones hovering around them, suspended above a magical field brimming with energy.
At the center of the coliseum, Stephen and Wanda stood face to face. The tension between them was almost palpable.
"We could've fought earlier "Stephen said calmly, a spark of excitement gleaming in his eyes". It would've been a great show. Shame the tournament never finished.
"Though now's a perfect time to pick it back up "he added, lowering his chin slightly in a taunting gesture.
"Indeed "Wanda replied, mimicking his tone with a mocking smile.
"How about... we lose control a bit? After all, this isn't real "Stephen said, though his forced smile revealed something deeper: resentment, rivalry, pride.
"Sure "Wanda answered, her trembling smile betraying pure excitement as her aura began to rise subtly.
From the stands, their friends, siblings, and students watched in fascination. Some already had floating magical popcorn waiting for the battle of the century.
"Welcome to this glorious day! "Jordan shouted from above". Today, we witness the duel between the most dangerously powerful siblings in Hogwarts... and maybe the entire world!
The twins beside him screamed like they were at a rock concert.
"For some reason, they requested their magic to have no limits, and also to move their fight elsewhere. But don't worry"we'll watch it all through these magical screens! "Jordan explained quickly, pointing at the massive floating panels.
"You shouldn't complain "Fred cut in, raising his voice". Even with just their base mana, they could collapse this coliseum like it was made of paper.
"And that's without getting serious "added George, arms crossed.
"Are you ready? "Jordan asked the two.
"Yes "they replied in unison.
A beam of light enveloped them. In an instant, they vanished from the coliseum... and reappeared in the void of space.
It wasn't a simulation"it was space itself: massive stars shone like eternal fires, nebulas swirled like sleeping dragons, and nearby planets rotated slowly, indifferent to the impending battle.
"This time, no interruptions. We can finish what started in that timeline "Stephen said, glancing around with serenity.
"I obviously won last time. You exploded while shouting something stupid "Wanda replied, covering her mouth to hold back laughter.
"Tsk. Time to return the favor.
Stephen raised his arms. Behind him, space shattered like glass, and from nothingness emerged millions of floating weapons: ethereal swords, antimatter spears, blades inscribed with draconic runes"all glowing with divine golden light. The magical roar of his spell echoed across the void.
"I want to see that "Wanda said in a low voice, as her hair turned crimson and her red aura expanded like a solar storm. Space around her distorted, as if even the laws of physics were afraid.
They stared at each other. Then Wanda blinked.
And hell broke loose.
Stephen fired his arsenal at light speed. A sea of divine weapons tore through the void, ripping through comets in their path. Magical portals opened around him, amplifying the attack with even more blades emerging from other dimensions.
Wanda clasped her hands tightly. A red shockwave of pure entropy blasted forth, halting the weapons mid-flight. Then, with a sweeping motion, as if throwing something, a nearby dwarf planet was dragged by her power and hurled at Stephen like a celestial cannonball.
Stephen raised a rotating magic circle in front of him. Like a cosmic blade, the spell sliced the planet cleanly in two. But Wanda didn't stop: she caught both halves with red magic and forced them back together around Stephen, like a colossal trap. freewёbnoνel.com
Stephen raised his hands and, upon touching the planet's surface, it dissolved into a cloud of blue butterflies that danced through the void. Wanda laughed. She extended her hands toward them... and the butterflies twisted, mutating into winged horrors with warped bodies and sharp teeth that screeched as they advanced.
A draconic roar shook the void. A summoning circle formed behind Stephen, and from it emerged a colossal head of a black fire dragon. Its infernal breath swept through the grotesque beasts, reducing them to ashes before returning to the portal with a satisfied growl.
They both paused. Locked eyes. Wild smiles and eyes gleaming with pure exhilaration.
In the virtual coliseum, everyone was in shock. Even Jordan had forgotten to narrate. Only five seconds had passed, and the level of destruction and precision was as beautiful as it was terrifying.
"Pfft... They're just showing off "muttered Tony, uncomfortable.
"Can you do that? "Loki asked with a smug grin.
"Give me a year or two... and maybe with my machines, I could simulate something like that "Tony replied, eyes glued to the screens.
Back in space, Stephen spoke.
"Nice warm-up. Shall we go all out now?
"That's what I was waiting for "Wanda replied.
She raised her arms. This time, no weapons. Hundreds of asteroids, each the size of the planet she had thrown earlier, began dragging themselves toward her, wrapped in her red magic. They looked like meteors of destruction, ready to raze everything.
Stephen, calm, raised his hands. Space behind him shattered like a mirror, fracturing into thousands of floating shards.
When Wanda launched the asteroids, Stephen moved his fingers, and the fragments of space itself obeyed, streaking through the void at impossible speeds. They sliced the meteors like divine blades through butter.
The resulting explosions made no sound in the vacuum, but in the coliseum, they felt like magical earthquakes. The unleashed energy formed massive auroras, spreading like the wings of a fallen god.
"Can you do that? "Loki asked, this time without a hint of mockery.
Tony swallowed hard, entranced.
"That... that one's harder.
And the battle had only just begun.
In space, the asteroid fragments sliced by Stephen still floated violently, but instead of scattering, they began orbiting around him.
"Trying to trap me with debris? "Stephen asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No. I'm just warming up," Wanda replied, her gaze glowing with intensity.
With a snap, the shards of rock were engulfed in crimson fire and fused together as if they had a life of their own, forming a colossal serpent of magma and blazing stone that roared silently in the void of space.
Stephen simply raised a hand. A symphony of golden runes emerged from his fingers, aligning like constellations in a cosmic pattern. With another gesture, the serpent was trapped within a prison of impossible geometries: a cube made of compressed time, vibrating as if its entire existence were happening simultaneously.
"That creature just lived a hundred thousand years in a single second," Stephen said coldly.
The serpent crumbled like aged ashes, but Wanda was already advancing. With a silent scream, her body multiplied into hundreds of alternate versions of herself, each from a different timeline. Some were monstrous, others angelic, but all launched attacks simultaneously from multiple planes of existence.
Stephen frowned. He spun his right arm in a spiral, and space twisted around him like fabric. A whirlwind of converging realities swirled around him, and each of his steps echoed like a supernova explosion.
"Quantum disintegration!" he shouted, and an invisible shockwave burst from his chest.
The alternate versions of Wanda began disintegrating one by one, like mirrors shattering, but just as the last one vanished, a red figure appeared above Stephen.
"Surprise!" Wanda yelled, channeling a spear made of pure chaos energy.
Stephen raised both hands and caught the spear, but it exploded in a chain reaction, generating a shockwave so powerful it made nearby moons tremble. In the virtual Earth, the coliseum shook, and the screens flickered for a second.
"Did they just... rewrite the laws of physics in that sector?" Tony asked in awe, sipping slowly from a soda.
"Not just that..." Loki murmured. "They just used a chaos explosion as the catalyst for a new dimension!"
Back in the fight, Stephen brushed embers off his cloak, unharmed.
"Well played... but now it's my turn."
He opened his arms, and a series of magical rings spun around him. Each represented a universal law: gravity, time, entropy, even existence itself.
With a single snap, everything around him froze. The asteroids. The suspended light. Even Wanda was motionless.
"Welcome to the Void of Causality. Here, only I can move," Stephen said as he walked slowly toward her.
But just as he was about to touch her forehead, Wanda blinked.
"How...?" he whispered.
"I am chaos," Wanda replied, breaking the temporal prison with a radiant smile.
A purple explosion lit up space, and everything began to move again. Stephen was blasted backward, crashing through three planetoids before coming to a stop.
Both floated, panting.
"And that..." Wanda said, laughing between breaths, "was still part of the warm-up."
Stephen ran a hand through his hair and laughed as well.
"Then we better stop holding back. Ready for Final Destruction?"
"Only if you are."
They stared at each other, and in that moment, their auras began to rise. The cosmos trembled. Nearby stars flickered. The spectators in the coliseum held their breath, aware they were about to witness a spectacle beyond any story, any myth.
The real battle was just beginning... or so it seemed, before everyone was abruptly ejected from their virtual pods. Not just them — everyone in the world was.
Stephen emerged from the pod, scratching his head in confusion, then turned toward one of the capsules, where smoke was rising.
"What happened?" Wanda asked, stepping out of the pod beside him.
"I think... we fried the servers," Stephen replied with a forced smile.
"'Think'? No — you absolutely did," Tony said as he exited another pod, followed by Loki and Harry.
"That's too bad... I wanted to keep fighting," Wanda said with a small pout, lowering her gaze.
"Looks like we'll have to upgrade our tech to do it... or, we could go fight in real space now," Stephen proposed with an innocent smile.
Before anyone could respond—
"Absolutely not!" said Fleur, approaching with Daphne, both of them glaring.
Daphne didn't take her eyes off them either.
"I didn't say anything, it was his idea," Wanda quickly said, raising her hands in surrender.
"It was just a joke..." Stephen muttered, feeling the weight of his girlfriend's and sister-in-law's stares.
