While Horo wasn't able to make distinct facial features of the BOSS, he could tell that it was getting pissed. Nyx had broken a rib while Luna had cut off an arm yet it still had more than half of its health. He felt a chill down his spine as Genkiba started to salivate wildly and its eyes began to glow.

Leo and Luna flinched as well, their animal instincts screaming danger as Genkiba disappeared in a flash once again. Whipping his head around, he saw the beast had appeared behind Leo.

"Leo!"

He shouted but as soon as the words left his lips, Genkiba disappeared again without having taken a swing. Suddenly he heard a loud cry of pain coming from his left.

"Kyaa!"

Nyx was smashed into the wall, sweat cascading down her spine as it was only her intuition that told her to transmute her neck into shadow at the last second. The moment she did, she felt the cold tingle of steel cleaving through her, the sheer wind pressure from the strike caused her to lose her footing and crash heavily into the wall.

If she hadn't followed through on that whim, her head would have been soaring through the air.

Nyx stumbled to her feet, using the wall as a crutch to support herself. She wanted to say something cheeky to let everyone know she was okay but she felt that if she opened up her mouth now, she would definitely vomit.

Seeing Nyx taken practically out of commission, Lily's expression grew sharp as she tossed the seed to Horo.

"Horo. Throw this at it!"

Horo was confused at being tossed a seed out of nowhere. Glancing at it quickly, he growled

"Lily! We don't have time for any of your gags right now. What the hell do you want me to do with this?!"

"Trust me! Throw it at him!"

Lily in turn shouted back as she clutched her staff with both hands as Moku was plopped between her feet, standing his ground even as he trembled like a leaf in the wind.

Horo hesitated for a second seeing that Lily was actually being serious. With nothing left to lose, he hurled the seed toward the beast that had blinked behind Leo just as he went to help Nyx up and protect her from any followup blows the monsters may throw her way.

As the seed flew through the air, Lily slammed her staff against the cave floor, magic surging from her feet as she roared.

"Plant Magic: OverGrowth"

Using her strongest magical ability at her disposal, her mana pool instantly depleted as the seed began to bulge and distort. Within seconds, Vines erupted from the seed like a sea of snakes surging forward.

Moments later, a distorted roar was heard as Genkiba became visible to everyone, Vines had ensnared and constricted its body, completely immobilizing it for the time being.

Horo was in awe at seeing such a tiny seed had managed to CC the boss to the point it was utterly helpless. Even now as it struggled against the vines, they remained sturdy like an organic straitjacket.

"Where the hell were you hiding this seed Lily?!"

Horo exclaimed in shock, stunned by just how easily the tide of battle had shifted in their behaviour.

Lily looked a little pale but still flashed Horo a giddy smile as she flashed him a peace sign and replied

"It wasn't me~. My baby Moku is the real MVP. He made the seed~!"

"Awoo~!"

Exhausted, Lily sank to her knees, clutching her staff as Moku sat in front of her. While he still looked afraid, Moku had his chest puffed up as he let out an adorable howl. Horo felt the urge to laugh as he could have sworn that the little fluffball was looking proud of itself in the moment.

Nyx leaned on Leo's body as she struggled to compose herself. She glared at Genkiba who was frothing at the mouth and snarling as it tried to break free.

"Goddamn that thing is fugly. Who wants to do the honors in getting my revenge?"

She glanced at her party members who didn't seem all that keen to get close to the contained boss. To the party's surprise, the one to volunteer was Sonata.

Leo shot Sonata a curious glance as she shrugged and replied somewhat nervously.

"There was something I wanted to try...I don't have the confidence to use it on a moving target in case it works and I cause...friendly fire..hehe"

She tried to hide her nervousness with an awkward chuckle but her words intrigued the group. Nyx had a playful smirk as she raised one arm weakly.

"Okay Superstar~! Show us how it's done~!"

Sonata raised her two hands together and gave Nyx a serious nod, the kind that made Nyx feel incredibly awkward herself.

'I should tone it back when it comes to teasing this girl. She is just far too pure...'

Sonata took a deep breath to steady herself before she slowly opened her mouth while glaring at Genkiba. What came out of her mouth was a low steady note that seemed to increase with each passing moment. Within seconds, the note had elevated to a jarring screech.

Yet this note was strange. It didn't grate at everyone's ears, instead it felt like it was concentrated. Leo was the first to notice what Sonata was doing.

A red mark had appeared on Genkiba's neck as Sonata slowly turned her head. Rather than an invisible bullet, Sonata had turned her Dissonant Shriek skill into an invisible blade that was cutting through the monster's neck.

After 20 seconds, Sonata's voice grew silent as she quietly huffed for air. Horo was confused as he didn't know what Sonata was doing as Luna noticed that the monsters vitality was slipping away.

"What did you just do Sona..."

Horo did not get to finish his sentence as Genkibas head separated from its neck, hitting the floor with a wet plop noise.

"She just beheaded it... with her voice.."

Nyx fought the internal urge to scream as what the gentle winged girl had done was nothing short of downright terrifying.

'Note to self. Never piss off Sonata'

Lily shot a glance at Horo and narrowed her eyes with a teasing glint in her eyes.

Horo shot her a glare but said nothing this time. He couldn't deny that her contributions had been invaluable.

Leo clapped his hands together to garner everyone's attention.

"Okay folks. Loot time. We take turns based on contribution to the fight. I did the least so I will pick last. I think Horo and Lily should be the first two to pick what they want."

Lily raised her hand like a grade school student, eagerly wanting to share that they knew the answer to the teachers question. With a sigh, Leo glanced att her.

"Yes Lily?"

"Okay, Okay. I have one question! Does Moku count as a party member so does he get to pick a piece of loot~?"

As soon as those words were spoken, Leo felt another migraine coming on. This party would be the death of him.
