Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1078: Success
Chapter 1078: Success
Although the Burning Flame Unit was badly damaged, its core power system was still intact, and a few of its weapons were barely operational.
At full strength, the Burning Flame Unit was already comparable to a demigod. If it self-destructed, the resulting explosion would be even more terrifying.
Following Sein’s order, Yuri jumped out of the cockpit without a second thought.
In the distance, divine power had already begun to surge like a storm.
As that chaos unfolded, the Burning Flame Unit turned into a streak of red light, flying straight toward the God of Craft.
***
The God of Craft was currently surrounded by a crowd of Justice League believers.
They were not particularly strong, but their sheer numbers offered a sliver of comfort.
Gondrath would never forget his last encounter with the God of Smithing. His arrogance of youth had been shattered by absolute strength.
Even now, his heart was still palpitating.
When the Burning Flame Unit appeared in the distance, he raised an eyebrow.
The low-ranking believers could not tell what that fast-approaching red blur was, but God of Craft was not blind.
“Why are you still coming at me? In the state we’re both in, wouldn’t it make more sense to call it quits?” he muttered, watching the approaching mecha.
Still reeling from his earlier defeat, the God of Craft failed to realize that the Burning Flame Unit’s cockpit was empty.
When the Burning Flame Unit kept charging forward without any sign of slowing down, he finally sensed something was off.
With what little divine power he had left, the God of Craft raised a blue shield in front of himself, activated by his Twilight Robe.
The surrounding believers took up defensive stances as well, unsure of what this red menace was trying to do.
Yet, someone else acted faster than Sein—Ysor, the God of Storms.
Before the Burning Flame Unit could even reach its target, the outcome of the clash at the heart of the battlefield had already been decided.
The God of Courage, already heavily wounded, had not stood much of a chance. Even at his peak, he might not have been a match for Ysor.
The God of Courage had shown up mainly to protect the Goddess of Music and the Goddess of Joy.
He did not have much of a relationship with the Goddess of Waters, even though they belonged to the Justice League.
When Ysor, the God of Storms, unleashed the full force of his divine artifact, the God of Courage hesitated and ultimately decided against intercepting the terrifying attack aimed at the Goddess of Waters.
By stepping back, he relieved the pressure on himself—but in doing so, he abandoned the Goddess of Waters, leaving her to fend for herself.
Luckily, the Goddess of Waters was no fool. She’d never placed too much trust in others to begin with.
The moment the God of Courage backed off, she instantly turned into a puddle of water and fled toward the edge of the battlefield.
Coincidentally, or perhaps not so coincidentally, she fled in the direction of the God of Craft, where a large number of Justice League believers had gathered.
With the God of Courage no longer a reliable shield, the Goddess of Waters could only hope to rely on those believers to absorb the incoming pressure from Ysor.
Just as she made her move, the God of Suffering and the God of the Hunt struck again.
This time, the God of the Hunt set its sights back on the Goddess of Joy, while the God of Suffering charged straight toward the God of Glyphs.
From the moment the God of Courage withdrew and the Goddess of Waters fled, the team of deities that had held out for days was finally starting to fall apart.
After all, no one was willing to die for someone else without a reason—especially not these self-serving gods.
Ysor’s divine attack tore through the battlefield, and even in her elemental form, the Goddess of Waters lost half of her divine body to the blast.
The force of the violent storm hurled her forward at high speed.
For a brief moment, she thought this momentum might actually help her escape the battlefield.
But then, a devastating red explosion erupted ahead. An energy shockwave crashed straight toward her, pushing her into the abyss of doom.
Caught between the two destructive forces, the Goddess of Waters did not even have time to cry out before her divine presence vanished completely.
In terms of raw destructive power, the Burning Flame Unit’s self-detonation far surpassed even Sein’s unfinished forbidden spell, Penetrating Eye.
The God of Craft was in even worse shape than the unfortunate Goddess of Waters, but he narrowly survived, thanks to a few divine artifacts he still had in his possession.
The Justice League believers around him were not as lucky. The explosion wiped them out completely, reducing them to nothing but dust particles.
At the exact moment the Burning Flame Unit detonated, Sein stashed Yuri back into her spatial living storage device and surged forward.
He was still in his mana-burning state.
His body was already near its limit, and forcing himself to maintain this secret technique meant he would be left weakened for a long time once it was all over.
Then again, this was likely his last battle during the Avatar Crisis.
As long as he could grab the God of Craft’s divine relic and loot, then make a quick retreat to Purgatory, he could count on the demons to keep him safe during recovery.
The timing between the mecha’s explosion and Sein’s appearance was seamless—almost perfect.
It was a clear display of how far he had come in battle tactics and execution over the years.
“Are you insane?! You think you can just kill me and walk out of Justice League’s territory alive?” the God of Craft croaked. He was barely hanging on, his voice ragged with defiance as Sein appeared behind him.
Sein’s demon claw was already clamped around his head. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
True to his title, the God of Craft lived up to his name—even after everything, most of his divine artifacts remained intact, apart from his ruby ring and Twilight Robe.
“That’s not your concern,” Sein said with a low chuckle, showing no hint of mercy despite their past alliance.
Ashen Flame burst from his claws, turning the God of Craft’s head into a torch of roaring fire.
The deity who had barely escaped death at the hands of the God of Smithing finally met his end in Sein’s hands.
Clap, clap, clap!
The sound of slow, deliberate applause echoed from behind him.
Just as Sein was about to collect his spoils and disappear from the battlefield, he froze. Cold sweat broke out across his back.
If he had been casting a spell at that moment, the shock might have caused a nasty elemental backlash.
A woman in a long, flowing purple dress had appeared behind him.
Sein had not sensed a thing. It was as if she were just an ordinary person who had been standing there all along.
But how could a normal person possibly be here?!
The shockwave from the Burning Flame Unit’s self-detonation, combined with the God of Storms’ divine power, had not even fully dissipated.
Most Rank Two beings would have been obliterated if they had been standing in this spot.
Yet, the woman had not released so much as a flicker of power since her arrival.
If one looked closely, they would notice that every trace of energy that neared her would soften and split, flowing harmlessly to either side, never touching her at all.
