Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1092: Gifts from the Demons
Chapter 1092: Gifts from the Demons
Five years later...
As the day of his departure drew closer, Sein, who had already packed all his belongings, was less eager to keep up with his daily experiments.
That day, while he was in the middle of a lesson with Flynn and the others, he got an unexpected visit from the Succubus Queen.
The topic of today’s lesson was the creation and application of magic artifacts.
Resting on his shoulder was none other than the portable magic cannon that had once played a key role in god-hunting battles.
Flynn and the other Arcanist trainees looked especially eager to learn about how the cannon worked.
Although Sein could not build anything on the scale of the Magus World space fortress’ main cannons, crafting a smaller version of a magic cannon was easy work for him.
“You guys talk it over for a bit. I’ll be right back,” Sein said, casually tossing the cannon to Flynn after he noticed the Succubus Queen waiting just outside the classroom.
Flynn did not catch the cannon; the hydro elemental golem beside him caught it instead.
The boy had shown some talent in alchemy.
That golem was one of his creations, made by applying the knowledge Sein had taught him.
While it did not have much combat power, it was capable of completing some basic tasks.
Sein was genuinely impressed by it, and he made sure to encourage Flynn’s efforts.
Once he stepped outside of the classroom, he followed the Succubus Queen. Together, they flew beyond the academy and out of the castle grounds.
“Did something happen?” Sein asked curiously.
“My father would like to offer a gift to that Lady Spider Queen of yours,” the Succubus Queen replied.
The Purgatory demon clan’s ability to leave Faeloria had a lot to do with Lorthisra.
Not to mention, Lorthisra had also brought to light other demons from within the Magus Civilization.
The demons had already shown a lot of goodwill to Sein, and now, it was time they showed the same sincerity to Lorthisra.
Still feeling a bit suspicious, Sein followed the Succubus Queen through the Abyssal Gut, heading straight to the lowest level of Purgatory.
Once again, the majestic Demon Peaks and the towering Bloodwar Palace came back into Sein’s view.
At the same time, he reached out to the Spider Queen in the Magus World through the Silver Spider Ring on his hand.
This ring was no ordinary accessory, it could be considered a divine artifact.
Beyond its storage functions and the ability to channel a bit of the Spider Queen’s divine power, it also allowed Sein to contact her easily across planes.
In a plane that embraced the faith system, this Silver Spider Ring was what they called a “divine gift”.
In a way, Sein’s current role was basically that of Lorthisra’s divine messenger.
With the ring as his symbol of status, Sein could issue orders to any of Lorthisra’s followers across different planes.
Lorthisra, who was already paying attention to everything happening in Faeloria, was certainly curious about the “gift” the Purgatory demons were about to present.
Still, she kept quiet and just calmly observed them.
Soon, they reached the Bloodwar Palace atop one of the Demon Peaks.
Only a few demon kings were present today, but someone else in the center of the hall immediately drew everyone’s attention.
It was a goddess bound in demonic chains, dressed in what had once been a regal golden robe.
She was covered in wounds and scratches from head to toe.
That elegant robe looked more like shredded rags, torn in places to reveal glimpses of pale, bare skin beneath.
Her blood-streaked face burned with shame and humiliation.
What made it even more shocking was that she was an intermediate deity, and her divine power felt even stronger than that of the Moonlit Cat Goddess, whom the Spider Queen had captured.
“The Goddess of Wealth?!” Sein blurted out in surprise.
After spending several centuries in Faeloria, he had no trouble recognizing her.
In nearly every city and kingdom under the influence of the Temple of Wealth, their gold coins were standard currency.
One side of those coins bore the Temple’s unique sigil—an ancient Faelorian symbol for wealth. The other side was engraved with the face of the goddess herself.
But now, seeing her in person, she was somehow even more stunning than her image on the coins.
In fact, maybe “opulent” was the better word.
Sein swore he could practically smell the scent of money just being in her presence.
Honestly, after everything he had witnessed in Faeloria, there was little left that could surprise him.
Still, the fact that this goddess drew her power of laws from money and wealth was something else entirely.
Her law attributes were extremely rare, even by Magus Alliance standards.
Both Eluvira, the Goddess of Magic, and Aurelia, the Goddess of Wealth, stood out as anomalies in the system of divine faith.
Aurelia possessed an enormous reserve of divine power because most people in any world loved money.
Yet, having massive divine power did not necessarily mean she was strong in battle. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Aurelia was not known for her combat ability. Her total divine power might put her on par with a peak Rank Five entity, but still, she was not a fighter.
In previous encounters with other deities, the Goddess of Wealth had relied almost entirely on the overwhelming weight of her divine pressure to win.
She rarely prevailed due to her own mastery of laws or innate combat talent.
This made her appear unstoppable when dealing with those creatures below the intermediate deities level.
However, in the presence of greater deities or even supreme deities, any edge she had in sheer divine power vanished completely!
The one who had taken her down was none other than the Bloodwar Monarch.
The goddess, brimming with divine power, was a gift from the Purgatory demon clan to the Spider Queen—and by extension, to the Magus World backing her.
It was an extremely lavish gift, and one that clearly showed the sincerity of the Purgatory demons.
It turned out that the dragons had been falsely blamed. They were not the ones responsible for the Goddess of Wealth’s disappearance—it had been the demons all along!
Even the Spider Queen was surprised by the gift.
Although the Goddess of Wealth’s divine abilities did not align with Lorthisra’s own power, she was still a foreign goddess with divine power at the peak of Rank Five!
Capturing her alive was no small feat. She might have been just as difficult to subdue as the Moonlit Cat Goddess.
Clearly, the demons had taken full advantage of this cycle of the Avatar Crisis.
Otherwise, even the Bloodwar Monarch would have struggled to capture a peak intermediate goddess hiding inside her own divine nation, especially without alerting the others.
A divine relic from a Rank Five deity was already a rare and valuable prize, but this was a living Rank Five goddess!
From Sein’s Silver Spider Ring, Lorthisra’s projection slowly emerged.
Facing the Purgatory demons’ grand gesture, Lorthisra smiled and said,
“This is a very generous gift. I’ll take it.”
