SpiderGwen: I have a system?!-Chapter 176: Phoenix Training

[3rd POV]

A couple of days later, after the girls had gotten situated in their new home, and after Gwen had upgraded the training hall in order to handle the power of Jean when using the Phoenix Force, Gwen was sat within the training hall, Jean sitting across from her in a meditative position as she was reaching into her own mind. She had already explained to Jean that the Phoenix Force was something within her that she had to reach out to and learn to properly communicate with.

Watching as the girl was seemingly communicating with the Phoenix within her, Gwen sat. She could sense the immense power that was beginning to form within the girl, a power that was well beyond her own capabilities at the moment, belonging to an entity that could destroy the entire Multiverse and beyond.

Over those couple of days, besides setting up the bedrooms of the girls, she had also been getting an influx of quest completions thanks to her clones traveling about claiming all sorts of powerful objects of note, ones that would be important to her future. Thanks to this, she had gotten a little over 60 TL tickets and 21 quest completions, pushing her to 68 tickets and had naturally claimed that 1 SSL ticket from them.

The new character was a HUGE addition, as she was...one of the most overpowered mutants there were, if not the most overpowered. Her mutant power was simple, and yet so very strong, it was the ability known as...Power Manipulation.

She was able to mimic, regulate, amplify, nullify, sense, and bestow mutant powers and abilities. Her mimicry of powers was able to perfectly mimic the power back to her with full and absolute control over the ability, even if the original user did not have any control of it. She could mimic as many mutant powers as she wanted, but it was incredibly taxing on her form, and more than that, it would fade due to time, distance and usage.

She doesn't even need to touch the one she is mimicking the powers of, instead she simply needed to be in the general vicinity of them. She was also incapable of mimicking the powers of anyone that was not a mutant, at least, right now. With the right training, Gwen was pretty certain that she could, but it would take quite some time.

The final aspect that made Hope even more interesting, was the fact that she was completely undetectable by technology, even mutant sensing ones, which was a pretty good boon for Gwen as it was a passive ability and did not need to be activated or anything.

The mimicry ability by itself was already incredibly powerful, but combine it with the fact that she was literally making a home for all mutants, her adaptation powers, and immortality, and you have a huge boon for future fights, and what was basically invulnerability while she was in Malzif near other mutants. It would make invasion of the city next to impossible with the level of power she would have at any point and time, and made it even more important that she started to recruit people from around the multiverse.

Sitting across from Jean as she began to glow a soft orange flame like color, Gwen smiled, pleased as she began to call upon more and more of the phoenix force, the heat within the room rising slowly but surely as Gwen ignored it, adapting to the new heat that was beginning to invade the space.

Thanks to Yun Che, she was immune to fire, just about every fire out there. It would take the Phoenix Force itself to harm her with flames. Something that Jean wasn't capable of just yet.

"Do you feel it Jean? The power of the Phoenix within you? Pull on it, allow it to flow through you, and follow your instincts. But do not allow negative emotions to surface while you do this, remember our exercises" Gwen instructed. These exercises were actually for Jean's mental health in order to deal with some of her baggage, and worked very well thanks to the nature of them.

"I-I feel it. It's so...strong, like every part of my body is being energized at the same time" Jean replied with a nod, her eyes closed in concentration as more and more energy radiated out of her, unknown to her. Gwen made sure the room was protected so it wouldn't cause any sorts of damages.

The room was laced and coated in a mixture of Vibranium, Adamantium, and a special alloy made from a dying star. It was basically invulnerable and even the flames of the Phoenix Force wouldn't be able to melt them, not without putting a lot more power into it at least.

As Gwen watched Jean begin to control the power within her, she began to hear the voice of the Phoenix once again. A deep feminine voice echoing throughout her head, as she allowed for the phoenix to speak to her in her mind.

'You're quite good at this, aren't you, child?' The Phoenix asked, as Gwen blinked several times and chuckled.

'I'm decent at it. A lot of practice. But I suppose you know that, don't you?' Gwen inwardly spoke back, knowing that the Phoenix could sense her other lives and the power of her soul. The Phoenix was the literal personification of life, so it only made sense. And it was above even the Infinity Stones, so not even they could shield her from its sight.

'I do. It is quite easy to tell that you have lived many lives, child. I have never seen another being that has lived as many as you have, and with such unique and odd ones at that. I cannot see your true soul, but sensing that much is quite simple' The Phoenix replied, a slight arrogance to her tone that caused Gwen to snort in amusement.

'You know child, had I noticed you before young Grey, I would have chosen you over her. Never in my many years have I seen one with such an affinity to my being' The Phoenix noted, feeling the psionic power radiating from Gwen. It was immense and far stronger than most, enough to contend against just about any other psionic being out there besides the Phoenix itself.

'That is an...interesting proposal, but I'd rather not strip you from Jean, but...I will think about it' Gwen thought with a small smile, as she felt the Phoenix let out a small amused giggle.

'Not many would deny me child. But I suppose you are different...now, I shall leave you be. I do hope you continue to mentor my host, she will become excellent if she continues as she is' The Phoenix said in her mind, as she slowly felt the bond snap and disappear, as The Phoenix returned to Jean.

Sensing that the Phoenix Force was receding, Gwen let out a small sigh 'Looks like I'm starting to get the attention of the higher ups. I can't tell if I should be concerned about that or not...probably concerned...yeah definitely concerned' Gwen thought, knowing that she would start to see more and more cosmic forces like the Phoenix.

'At least the Phoenix is a decent conversationalist. I doubt interacting with someone like the red devil asshole would be fun, or the Faltine' Gwen thought, knowing better than to drop their names, especially in the case of the former, with the entity in question being incredibly annoying.

He was more so annoying because he was impossible to get rid of, like a cockroach that refused to die. Should Gwen ever run across him, she was confident in getting rid of him for good, should she have to, which she eventually would.

Watching as Jean's eyes slowly crept open, Gwen smiled, pleased with the progress she had made, as she had one thought on her mind.

'...Maybe teaching her will be easier than I thought'
