A sea of flames seemed to be rolling towards Dave, as about a hundred Ignarok beasts charged in his direction, their fiery manes blazing like a wildfire. The ground trembled beneath their paws, and the air was filled with the thunderous sound of their collective roar. Dave’s eyes widened slightly as he took in the sheer number of beasts, a hint of amusement dancing on his lips.
"Shit! Did I trespass their territory or what?" he muttered to himself, a wry smile spreading across his face.
"It almost seems as if I missed my daily quest, and now I’m being punished by the system." He chuckled, the sound low and husky, as he shook his head. "Well, only that this time, I have all my stats and abilities intact. Let’s get this over with, and gather more armies."
With a fluid motion, Dave twisted his neck, cracking the vertebrae softly, before grasping his sword tightly. His eyes gleamed with a fierce light as he gazed out at the approaching beasts. "This will take a long time," he said, his voice laced with a hint of anticipation.
Without another word, Dave launched himself forward, dashing towards the group of Ignarok beasts with a speed that surpasses his human form. His sword flashed in the fading light, piercing the skull of one beast with deadly precision.
He punched another beast squarely on the face, the force of the blow sending it stumbling backward. Despite the inferno surrounding their heads, Dave seemed impervious to the flames, his endurance allowing him to shrug off the heat.
As he fought, the sound of clashing steel and the roar of the beasts filled the air, the scent of smoke and sweat hanging heavy over the battlefield. Dave moved with a deadly efficiency, his sword slicing through the beasts with ease, his movements were a blur of speed and precision.
A deafening roar erupted from the group of Ignarok, and the ground beneath Dave’s feet seemed to come alive as flames burst forth like a swarm of fiery serpents. It was like a larva from a mountain as it spewed out from below.
They danced and twisted, the tongues of fire licking at the air as they sought to engulf Dave. But he was a blur of motion, his speed allowing him to dodge and weave between the flames with ease. The heat was intense, but Dave’s agility and quick reflexes enabled him to avoid the worst of it.
Just as he had dodged the flames, a new wave of attack from the beasts had started in the battlefield. A group of Ignarok beasts lifted their fore limbs in unison, then slammed them down onto the ground. The impact sent a shockwave through the earth, and a blast of heat radiated outward from the beasts.
The air seemed to ripple and distort, as if the very fabric of reality was being warped by the sheer force of the attack. The heat was meant to slow Dave down, to weaken him and leave him vulnerable to the beasts’ attacks.
If it were any other person, perhaps an ordinary human with no ability like Dave’s, they would have been dead long ago, but Dave had been able to survive the attack for long.
So fuck the heat, Dave was not one to be intimidated. His teeth gritted tightly as he charged forward, his sword flashing in the dim light. He sliced horizontally, cutting through the beasts’ skulls with deadly precision. The sound of crunching bone and the beasts’ pained roars filled the air as he moved with a deadly efficiency.
As he dispatched one group of beasts, Dave moved on to the next, his sword piercing their bodies with ruthless accuracy. He was careful in his killing blows, ensuring that each dead beast would be able to rise again with its full capabilities intact when he wants to use them fight as his army.
The beasts’ bodies slumped to the ground, their lifeless forms strewn about the battlefield like discarded puppets. Dave’s movements were economical and precise, his sword slicing through the beasts with ease. The sound of clashing steel and the beasts’ dying roars echoed through the air, a grim symphony of violence and death.
As Dave continued his battle against the Ignarok beasts, he made sure to aim for their stomachs, the soft flesh a vulnerable spot. The ones he had already killed, their skulls split open, might still prove useful in his future plans - perhaps as a tool to scare his enemies or utilize their sharp claws to deal damage. For now, his priority was to take down the remaining beasts as efficiently as possible.
About a quarter of the hundred-strong horde lay lifeless on the ground, their bodies were a prove to Dave’s deadly intent. But the rest of the beasts still posed a significant threat, and Dave knew he had to dispatch them quickly.
However, he was starting to encounter a problem - the beasts’ thick hides were proving resistant to his sword’s blade. Only his speed and strength had allowed him to be able to pierce through their flesh so far, but with each strike, the sword’s sharpness was slowly dulling out.
The realization dawned on Dave that he needed to adapt if he wanted to survive this battle. With a swift motion, he placed his sword in his void space, the familiar weight of the blade disappearing from his hand.
He then flexed his fingers as he prepared to face the beasts with his bare fists. Time was of the essence, as the sun could be seen setting in, casting a golden glow over the battlefield. Dave knew he had to wrap things up quickly. He couldn’t keep the girls waiting or they might start worrying about him. Not like they wouldn’t have been anyway.
With a deep breath, he charged forward. His fists were clenched as he get ready to strike. The beasts loomed before him, their fiery manes a fierce halo in the fading day. Dave’s eyes locked onto his targets, his movements swift and deadly as he launched himself into the fray.
