Ella stood frozen in front of Kim Hyun, the weight of the time bomb strapped to her torso making her every breath a struggle. The device’s cold metal seemed to sear into her skin, its ticking heartbeat echoing through the chaotic scene unfolding around them.

Kim Hyun’s gaze, however, wasn’t on Ella; it was fixated on the terrified screams and frantic pointing of the crowd, their collective horror drawn to the top floor of the building. Dave locked eyes with the man before him, he is a middle aged man, about the age of 35 to 40. But he has an hefty appearance, and a sharp looking gaze.

"Why are you doing this?" Dave demanded, his voice tight with rage, his fists clenched so hard his knuckles turned white. Kim Hyun’s laughter only intensified, his eyes glinting with a manic energy.

"Isn’t it obvious?" he retorted, his words dripping with sarcasm. "I’m here to have some fun. Watch us all dance on the edge of oblivion." He held up the remote again. "Once I press this, everyone one of us will all become pieces in a very literal game of chance. It’s quite fun, isn’t it?"

The crowd’s reaction was immediate. "You’re a sick man!" someone shouted, the words echoed by others, their voices laced with disgust and desperation.

Some had given up entirely, collapsing to the floor in despair, their bodies wracked with sobs as the reality of their situation crushed them.

"Is that not what you plan on doing?" Dave pressed on, his voice firm. "You have a lot to accomplish in this world, especially with your ability to tame and control beasts - a power you didn’t have before the apocalypse."

"Perhaps in those times, you would have given up on your life," he said, his voice laced with skepticism. "The government and military were hot on your tail, but you didn’t crack under the pressure. You kept pushing forward."

Dave’s gaze locked onto Kim Hyun’s, his eyes searching for a glimmer of the man before him. "Yet now, you’re threatening to blow us all up. It’s quite not like you."

Kim Hyun’s expression twisted into a smirk. "You bastard!"

"I know you can’t bomb yourself," Dave said, his tone dripping with amusement. "It’s no fun that way. You’re just trying to play with me, so I could surrender and you would be able to escape."

Hyun’s eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. He smiled after listening to Dave’s words.

"Oh geez, you’re so smart for a high school student," Kim Hyun said, his voice heavy with sarcasm. He took a step closer from his position, his eyes glinting with curiosity. "You know, we would’ve achieved a lot of things together, if only we hadn’t met like this."

"And considering that you also have a beast-taming ability...things would have worked out well between us." His words were laced with a hint of wistfulness, but it was quickly replaced by a cold calculation.

The air seemed to grow heavier as Kim Hyun’s gaze swept across the crowd. "But now, it seems like we can never be friends," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. "Especially now that my identity has been revealed to everyone. No one would want to associate with a criminal."

As he spoke, he took a step forward, walking away from where Ella stood, frozen at the entrance, her eyes were wide with fear. The crowd held its collective breath, no one daring to approach Kim Hyun as he advanced. They wonder what he was about to do next.
