Standing Next To You-Chapter 366: Provoke
Chapter 366: Provoke
The butler approached Fei Chuan.
Fei Chuan had no intention of resisting. He glanced at the closed bathroom door; it would be better to continue this confrontation outside the room.
He knew Fei Min too well. The man was prone to violence and quick to anger; a few taunting words could easily set him off.
Fei Chuan didn’t need to exert much effort to provoke him.
They pulled him out of the bedroom. Fei Min’s companions followed eagerly, their expressions charged with anticipation. Only Fei Yuxuan shook his head at the unfolding scene, choosing to remain a passive observer without intervening.
"Second Young Master! Please stop this! The Young Master is currently sick!" Maid Yan tried to stop them again but was pushed away with hard force.
Fei Chuan glanced at Maid Yan and gave her a knowing look. Maid Yan met his gaze and paused. She nodded reluctantly and did not stop the group anymore.
While Fei Chuan was being pulled downstairs, Grandma Pei blocked their way. She was limping; it seemed she had tried to stop this group before they went upstairs.
"Young Master Fei Min, today is the First Young Master’s welcome party. If you cause too much of a ruckus, people will notice what’s happening here. Please... just let the Young Master go this once." Grandma Pei kneeled on the floor and begged.
The butler pulling Fei Chuan halted. Seeing an older person kneeling in front of him made him feel guilty. However, the Young Master behind him had no conscience.
"What are you waiting for? Drag him outside! We are far from the party. Even if he screams, no one will hear. And lock that old woman away. I don’t want to hear her cries."
"Young Master!" Grandma Pei wanted to follow them, but Fei Chuan stopped her.
"Grandma, just go back. I’ll be fine. Trust me." He looked at her pleadingly. He could already see Grandma Pei was hurt. If she stopped them any more, knowing how violent Fei Min was, Grandma Pei might suffer a permanent injury. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
They just needed to endure this silently until Fei Min got what he wanted or someone with authority came. But the latter option seemed impossible since most of the people in the mansion were at the party.
And even though those people noticed Fei Min and the others were missing, no one would have the mind to check on him.
Grandma Pei looked at Fei Chuan worriedly. It pained her that she was powerless and couldn’t do anything.
In the past, when Fei Min first came to vent his anger on Fei Chuan, the latter suffered a bruise or two. However, Fei Chuan soon learned to anticipate Fei Min’s outbursts. After suffering from Fei Min’s hand twice, the latter wasn’t able to harm him physically again.
After Fei Min left the country, their lives became peaceful. There were no more troublesome visits or disruptions. Perhaps they had become too accustomed to this peace, so when Fei Min arrived so suddenly, they were at a loss on what to do.
...
"Young Miss! Let’s leave now!" Maid Yan knocked on the bathroom door.
Bei Sangyun immediately opened it. "Where is Fei Chuan?"
"T-the Young Master is outside. Let’s leave first. There is a backdoor through the kitchen. I’ll lead you there." Maid Yan pulled Bei Sangyun in a hurry.
While passing the room, Bei Sangyun glanced at the shattered glass on the floor. Her eyes went cold. Although she was locked inside, she could hear what was happening in the room.
Fei Min...was it?
"Young Miss, please don’t take this in a bad way. This doesn’t usually happen. And when it does, the Young Master is not usually helpless. Our house is often prepared in time so that before things get violent, Young Master Fei Min has no choice but to stop. Our Young Master is smart. Although he sometimes acts weak, he can come up with many ways to get out of a situation. So please don’t worry."
Maid Yan was afraid this would leave a bad impression on Bei Sangyun. She did not want this incident to make the Young Master lose a friend and a girlfriend. And she was telling the truth. Although the situation seemed bad, the Young Master was very smart and would think of a way to get out of this unscathed.
Bei Sangyun went silent.
She knew how smart and capable Fei Chuan was, so she knew Maid Yan was telling the truth. A mere Fei Min couldn’t threaten or hurt Fei Chuan. That bastard wasn’t on Fei Chuan’s level.
However, Fei Chuan had deliberately provoked Fei Min earlier. This wasn’t the method of someone trying to save themselves from a situation.
Bei Sangyun clenched her fist. Perhaps Fei Chuan was doing it differently because she was here. He wanted Fei Min to vent his anger on him and solely pay attention to him while she sneaked away.
Her fingernails burrowed into her palm; just thinking about it made her feel so angry at herself and that bastard.
Bei Sangyun closed her eyes and tried to calm the anger bubbling inside her. She had to stay still. This was what Fei Chuan wanted. She couldn’t let this matter escalate, because it would only make things worse for Fei Chuan.
They arrived at the kitchen. Maid Yan took the keys and opened the backdoor.
"You’ll pass by a garden and continue straight ahead until you reach a car. Driver Wang is already waiting there. You must hurry, Young Miss."
Bei Sangyun hesitated. Could she really leave like this? What would happen to Fei Chuan after? He hadn’t fully recovered from his illness...
Bei Sangyun was already in the garden; however, her footsteps were heavy. With each step, it felt like a sharp knife was stabbing into her heart.
She gritted her teeth. She couldn’t waste Fei Chuan’s sacrifice.
If she hadn’t come today, perhaps Fei Chuan wouldn’t be troubled now.
This helpless situation reminded her of times when she was powerless to do anything—
Bei Sangyun suddenly stopped in her tracks.
There was only a bit of distance until she passed the garden. She could see the car Maid Yan had mentioned from afar.
Bei Sangyun gritted her teeth. She couldn’t leave like this.
She ran back toward the source of the noise she had heard earlier. She had to assess the situation and think of a plan to save Fei Chuan without burdening him.
Bei Sangyun took out her phone and called the spy she had planted in the Fei mansion. Once she used this spy today, she wouldn’t be able to use her again.
Planting a spy, especially someone close to the higher-ranking servants, was difficult. But Bei Sangyun was willing to take this risk.
Her call was answered. There was the sound of orchestra music in the background.
Great. It seemed the spy was at the banquet too.
Bei Sangyun gave a few instructions and ended the call.
She saw a figure ahead and crouched down to hide her body in the bushes.
She would not expose herself. She would only watch things from afar and make sure Fei Chuan wouldn’t get hurt—
Splash!
Her eyes suddenly widened at the scene before her.
