Chapter 372: Meeting Head Master Fei

Head Master Fei glanced at the table where Fei Yin Lang sat. As his friend said, Fei Yin Lang was indeed drinking a lot.

"I am still healthy and robust. I don’t need to name an heir yet. There is still a lot of time for them to prove themselves," he replied.

"What’s there to prove? Fei Hua Jiang is the best among your grandsons. He is respectful, smart, and capable. Instead of being given a branch to manage, you should have passed the authority of the headquarters to him. That way, he would have plenty of time to adjust and learn," commented one of the elders in the Fei family. They, too, seemed displeased that Head Master Fei hadn’t appointed Fei Hua Jiang as the heir.

"Don’t rush me. If you wanted to make decisions independently, you should have taken this position from me long ago. Then I wouldn’t have a say in who becomes the heir."

The elder fell silent. It was a bit unfair. Back then, he had many shortcomings and could only support his elder cousin.

Head Master Fei gazed into the darkness beyond. Toward where that brat lived. He murmured, "...I still want to confirm something."

"Tsk. You’re just holding onto hope for that sick child. I thought you’d given up on him long ago."

"You should not speak of that here. You know very well one word can cause a lot of misunderstanding—" Head Master Fei’s words suddenly halted.

His gaze shifted towards that place again. And from that darkness, a figure emerged.

He squinted his eyes, but because of his old age, he couldn’t see well. It seemed like that figure was dragging something on the floor...?

That person was getting closer. But because everyone was immersed in their conversations, they did not notice that figure’s approach.

Finally, a staff member spotted the person. Several staff rushed forward to intervene.

With many people moving toward that direction, the guests finally noticed the commotion.

"What is going on?"

"Is she a guest?"

"What is she dragging... is that a person?!"

"Oh my god! Is that Master Fei Min?!"

The crowd grew and blocked Head Master Fei’s sight.

"Butler Zhao, can you see who that is?"

Butler Zhao followed Head Master Fei’s instructions and squeezed into the crowd.

The crowd grew into a murmuring throng, causing the orchestra to stop playing.

Some of the people in the gazebo also looked in that direction.

Amidst the murmurs, a piercing scream erupted.

"Fei Min! My son! What did you do to my son?!"

"Calm down, First Madame!"

Fei Yin Lang, who had been laughing with the guests moments ago, heard his wife’s anguished cry.

The sudden disturbance drew their attention.

What was happening?

The crowd was abuzz with his son’s name. With a muddled mind, he pushed through towards the commotion.

Some guests immediately noticed Fei Yin Lang and made way for him. As he approached the front, voices ahead caught his attention.

"I came to see the Head Master. I won’t leave or explain anything unless it’s to him," said a young woman.

"Leave?! You’re not leaving until you explain what you’ve done to my son!"

Fei Yin Lang’s foggy mind immediately sharpened as he took in the scene before him.

His wife was screaming hysterically, cradling a dirtied figure in her lap—no, it was his son, barely recognizable in his wretched state!

"Fei Min!" Fei Yin Lang rushed forward.

His son was bound like a criminal, covered in dirt with a bruise on his head, his mouth gagged.

The humiliating sight of his own son ignited Fei Yin Lang’s fury. "What are you waiting for? Arrest this woman!"

Four security guards moved to apprehend Bei Sangyun, but the staff members who were just being bystanders like the others earlier, swiftly intervened, forming a protective circle around her.

The appearance of people on her side caused a huge uproar. What was going on? Were these four people protecting her? Were they spies?!

For these people to have the ability to infiltrate the esteemed Fei family, this young lady’s identity must be far from ordinary. For a moment, the atmosphere became tense, and no one dared to step forward.

"You won’t even ask what happened but just directly condemn me. Is this what the Fei family is?" Bei Sangyun spoke with overwhelming arrogance. Her tone, looking down on the Fei family, caused the air to become stagnant.

The guests were flabbergasted.

Who was she to boldly challenge the revered Fei family under their own roof?

"Then should we be polite to someone who invades our household and humiliates our family member?" Head Master Fei stepped forward, parting the sea of people.

His intimidating gaze fell on Bei Sangyun. "Who are you, young lady, to come and disrupt our event? If you do not give us a sufficient explanation and proof that you have nothing to do with what happened to Fei Min, you will be held accountable for your actions."

Bei Sangyun met his gaze and bowed with a greeting. "I am finally meeting the head of this family. I am Bei Sangyun. I came here to defend my friend and to take him away from this place."

Head Master Fei’s brow twitched. Bei Sangyun?

He was familiar with that name. A while ago, a report came from his spy. Although the name in the report was Lin Sangyun, it was the same person.

She was... his youngest grandson’s notorious girlfriend.

It seemed he had finally met the troublemaker.

But taking ’him’ away?

Had she truly gone mad, as the reports claimed?

"I see. I have heard a lot about you. Then, tell me. Why have you come to this place and appeared with my injured grandson?"

"This grandson of yours came suddenly without warning and dragged out his sick cousin, who was burning with fever out of his own manor. Not only did he drench him with cold water to make him suffer more from the sickness, but he also beat him. And this is not the first time."

"You are lying! My son would never do such a thing!" Fei Min’s mother hugged her son. She couldn’t allow a mere stranger to dirty her son’s reputation!

"It is you and that bastard who harmed my son and came here to humiliate us!"

Bei Sangyun coldly smiled. "We just acted in self-defense. Well, I guess you won’t easily believe me because you will side with your abusive son no matter what. But I have witnesses."
