Fei Chuan’s heart beat with anxiety.

Bei Sangyun had all the memories of that life. In that life, she had chased after Xu Tian. Now that Xu Tian was working at Phoenix Holding—and from the way they interacted—it didn’t seem like he had rejected Bei Sangyun.

After all, who would reject a perfect woman like her?

And Bei Sangyun... did she still have lingering thoughts about Xu Tian? Were feelings starting to develop again?

What about him? Did he still have a chance?

Fei Chuan felt like time was slipping through his fingers. If he stayed passive and did nothing, that man might take Bei Sangyun away.

No. He couldn’t allow that.

The emotions, remorse, and intense regret of his past self were so strong that even the current him could still feel their weight.

Even without knowing the full truth before, he had never truly let go of Bei Sangyun.

He wanted her. And he would do anything to get her back.

Fei Chuan clenched the necklace tightly in his hand.

He wouldn’t let the regrets of that life repeat themselves.

He would win her back. And this time, he would stay by her side—alive and well.

Even if he had hurt her, even if he was lacking now, he wanted to be better. No—he would become someone worthy of her forgiveness and love.

.....

The morning sun peeked through the curtains. From the open balcony, Bei Sangyun stretched and began preparing for a busy day.

Her new routine was to work in the morning and continue her search for the necklace in the afternoon.

It was her way of keeping the past events out of her mind—by keeping her body and mind busy, she left no room for her lonely heart to stir up the memory of that day.

She focused on what she could do, instead of dwelling on her broken heart.

What mattered most now was finding the necklace.

Before, she had been looking for it discreetly. But now that all traces of it had disappeared, Bei Sangyun decided to change her approach. She searched openly and loudly, hoping that whoever had it would take notice. And if someone was intentionally hiding it, she might be able to tell based on their reaction.

Either way, this new approach would do more good than harm.

Soon, various platforms featured a photo of the necklace along with a message offering a generous reward for any information about its whereabouts.

It appeared in articles, on commercials, and she even went as far as to place it on a billboard in the city center.

However, it was a double-edged sword. A flood of calls and tips followed, and her team had to work nonstop to sort through and verify all the information. Even after tripling her manpower, it would still take days to process everything.

She was met with false leads, one after another. But Bei Sangyun had no intention of giving up.

She even began searching for the necklace herself. Whoever she met—be it a business partner or a fellow CEO—she would show them the photo and ask if they’d seen it.

Today was no different.

Bei Sangyun headed downstairs, fully prepared for the day, when Maid Ye Zhai suddenly appeared from around the corner holding a large basket of flowers, almost bumping into her. Bei Sangyun reached out to help steady her.

She caught a glimpse of the beautifully arranged bouquet and teased, "I didn’t know you had a suitor."

Maid Ye Zhai looked at her oddly. "I don’t have a suitor. These aren’t for me."

Bei Sangyun’s smile faltered. "Oh." She instantly lost interest in the flowers.

"You can put them in any vase you think fits. If there’s a letter, reply on my behalf. The usual."

"There’s no sender, Young Miss."

"Then tell the delivery service not to send any more next time. Just place these somewhere in the garden."

"Alright," Maid Ye Zhai replied and turned toward the backyard.

Bei Sangyun shook her head. Why would someone send flowers and purposely leave out their name?

She didn’t have the time to dwell on it. After all, there were too many people eager to gain her favor.

After finishing work at Phoenix Holding, Bei Sangyun began contacting the people she had met and interacted with at the banquets she’d attended. She showed them the photo of the necklace one by one. But none of them had ever encountered it.

Her search for the day turned out to be futile.

When she arrived home, Maid Ye Zhai informed her that someone had sent a box of expensive chocolates to their door—again, with no sender’s name. Bei Sangyun’s taste hadn’t returned to normal, so she wasn’t in the mood for sweets. Since the chocolates were still sealed and neatly packed, she handed them over to Maid Ye Zhai and Driver Chen.

As for who had sent them, she had no idea—and no curiosity either. That night, she crossed out the names on the list of people she had already asked and began creating a new one.

The next day, Bei Sangyun followed her usual routine. This time, another bouquet of flowers arrived early in the morning at her villa.

She paid them no mind and simply told Maid Ye Zhai to place them in the garden or anywhere she thought appropriate.

When she arrived at the company, she attended several virtual meetings and casually asked about the necklace during them. Although some people recognized it as part of the "Tears of the Mermaid" collection, no one knew its current whereabouts.

Bei Sangyun returned home disappointed. Upon entering, she found Maid Ye Zhai and Grandma Bei standing in the kitchen, staring at the dishes on the table.

"What are you two staring at?" Bei Sangyun asked as she walked over. A tantalizing aroma hit her—so good it made her mouth water.

The two stepped aside, letting her take a look.

"These are all your favorites, right? Whoever’s sending this seems to know you well," Grandma Bei commented.

Maid Ye Zhai nodded in agreement.

Bei Sangyun stared at the dishes on the table. Every single one was indeed her favorite.

She frowned. Who was this person? They clearly knew her preferences too well. It wasn’t just some casual acquaintance or a typical suitor.

"Don’t eat it. Throw it away. I’ll ask someone to investigate who’s been sending me these."

Maid Ye Zhai glanced at her. "You really have no idea who it might be?"

Bei Sangyun shook her head. She genuinely didn’t know—and she didn’t care to. After all, there was only one man in the world she would want to be the sender. But it was impossible for it to be him.

So she didn’t even bother to guess who it might have come from.

Maid Ye Zhai opened her mouth to say something, but in the end, chose to stay silent.

The Young Miss was doing well now. It was clear she was trying to keep "that" out of her mind. Maid Ye Zhai didn’t want to remind her and risk hurting her again.

Maid Ye Zhai and Grandma Bei cleared the mystery dishes away and served the food they had prepared. The three of them ate dinner together peacefully, and no one brought up the topic of who might be sending the gifts.

.....

The next morning came, and Bei Sangyun got busy once again.

Another bouquet of flowers arrived, along with an expensive cake. She ignored them, and Maid Ye Zhai took care of it for her.

When she arrived at her office, she received a call from Lin Sanju.

"I’m attending a banquet at Hotel Sun tomorrow night. I need to bring a plus one. Do you want to come? If you’re busy, it’s fine too."

If this had been in the past, Bei Sangyun wouldn’t have been interested.

She glanced at her list. It would be a good chance to ask people about the necklace.

"Alright. I’ll come. What time?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end. Lin Sanju seemed stunned that she agreed so easily.

"...Around seven p.m. I’ll come pick you up."

"Okay. See you then."

After the call ended, Lin Sanju stared at his phone. Just like Bei Sangyun thought, he was genuinely surprised that she agreed to attend. After all, he had invited her many times before, and she always declined.

"She’ll come, right?" someone in front of him asked, snapping him back to reality.

"Ah, yes."

Fei Chuan sighed in relief. "Good."

Lin Sanju glanced at him. "Why don’t you ask her yourself? I’m sure she would agree to go with you."

Fei Chuan gave a bitter smile. Clearly, Lin Sanju had no idea what had happened between him and Bei Sangyun.

"We’re not on good terms right now. But I want to fix that. I’ll win her back."

Lin Sanju was taken aback again. This was the first time he’d heard any of it.

No wonder Fei Chuan had suddenly shown up at his office, asking him for coffee. It turned out, it wasn’t just a casual visit—it was a favor. A favor to help him get closer to Bei Sangyun.
