Chapter 1091: Making Every Minute and Second Count (II)

The Divine Nation queen couldn’t be bothered to discuss Li Hao’s merits any further.

“How dare those ants obstruct our advance in Li Hao’s absence!” she declared as she looked at the armies in the distance. “They court death!”

She wanted to annihilate these pests, but was also concerned that Li Hao would set aside everything and rush her nation if she eliminated the Skystar armies. That would provide a show for the other nations and inflict enormous losses upon Divine Nation. That outcome would be highly dissatisfying.

“Commence the parley of five sides as soon as possible! How do you drag your heels like this if you fear Li Hao so much? It is unbecoming of your status as a New Martial citizen. Doesn’t your civilization always act with extreme efficiency?

“The Sword Sovereign acted swiftly when he attacked us. He cleared the four directions in the blink of an eye,” she sneered. “Now that he’s gone, you guys hem and haw and dither over your decisions. No wonder you can’t accomplish anything great!”

The black robe had nothing to say to that. Nothing would be this troublesome if the second awakening had begun. Who would’ve thought that kinks would develop at this point in time and sever the second awakening?

......

Barren and Watercloud Dynasty observed the movements of all sides on this day.

Within Great Li borders, in a densely forested mountain.

Countless tribes were arrayed through Great Li territory, but it had a royal capital—its biggest tribe. That was also where the divine temple was located. An enormous city crouched at the end of the northern direction.

Golden light exuded from the Great Li king as he frowned at a group of people escaping in the distance. Li Hao’s replica stood next to him; it wasn’t too strong. This replica was formed out of Li Hao’s ‘mountain’ character, a side branch of the earth attribute. It was mediocre and barely counted as a Mountain and Sea cultivator.

“Why does the Great Li king not chase after them?” asked a confused ‘Li Hao’.

The king turned his frown upon the young man and said coldly, “Not only is your replica too weak, but it’s even a bit dumb! They’re just bait luring me out of the capital. Can you not see even that?”

“I am a bit dumb.” ’Li Hao’ didn’t mind the insults. “My primary body only gave me some strength and not too many brains. I can only manage some basic mental strength operations. I can’t deduce or analyze too much.”

He was just a receiver of information to relay what he heard and saw to his primary body upon return. What were brains?

The replica plainly didn’t have any.

“Those guys... mean that Ying Hongyue should be nearby.” The king returned to the task at hand. “Not only that, but I suspect that the source of the Forbidden Sea is nearby! They may wish to detonate the Forbidden Sea... What a bunch of lowlifes! Just as you’ve said, these bastards only wish to create disturbances and upheaval!”

He was quite infuriated and aghast that he’d underestimated the three great organizations. They’d played a game of hide and seek with him for multiple days. Although he’d killed a fair number of their people, he hadn’t seen any signs of Red Moon’s main personnel. They must be hiding somewhere to secretly plot and strategize.

Perhaps they would proceed as Li Hao had said and undo some of the restrictions of the world to release more powerhouses. That would raise the limits levied on the ancients.

It was the last thing he wanted to see!

Unfortunately, try as the king might, he could not locate Ying Hongyue. He’d killed hundreds of organization members over the past couple of days, but no one knew where the senior executives were.

The Great Li king turned to look at ‘Li Hao’ with some dejection. He might be able to discuss next steps with the young man if his primary body was here. But this foolish replica knew nothing other than asking a few questions from time to time. The replica’s battle strength was equally unreliable.

If the king had known this would be the case, he would never travel with something so useless. Li Hao had talked a fine talk when they last met and praised his replica’s capabilities. Just look at reality!

I should’ve brought Jiang Li back with me if I’d known this would happen. At least the main priest can utilize special methods to find those guys.

Numerous shadows suddenly appeared in front of the king. He frowned, recognizing them. All of them wore black robes.

“Your Majesty of Great Li,” one of them intoned. “Our lord wishes for you to temporarily set aside these minor matters. He has ordered us to search for the three great organizations and persuade them to depart from Great Li’s borders. Whether it is the three great organizations or four nations, our target at the moment should be Li Hao.”

He glanced at the half-witted Li Hao, knowing it to be a replica and not minding its presence.

“We will have Ying Hongyue leave Great Li. Please do not ruin the grand plan on account of these small matters, Your Majesty!”

“Small matters?” the king repeated coldly. “Ying Hongyue’s invasion is a small matter to you? This king’s nation is under attack. Remember that this king is not your servant! Ying Hongyue is in cahoots with you, so how dare you attack Great Li while this king is absent...”

“You misunderstand, Your Majesty!” the black robe quickly said. “Ying Hongyue is not with us, there’s just a simple partnership between us. He is the spokesman of Red Moon major world and our partnership does not run deep.

“The lord does not wish for this matter to damage our relations either. We will expel Ying Hongyue as quickly as possible and hope that you summon the meeting of five as soon as you can. Great Li is the only nation absent from the table now...

“Please kill Li Hao’s replica as well to prevent anything from leaking!”

“Get Ying Hongyue out of Great Li first,” sniffed the king. “Otherwise, any talk of a meeting or parley is just hot air!”

Another figure manifested in the distance, one wearing a red robe and a radiant grin. “The Great Li king has truly misunderstood me. I, Ying Hongyue, am only here to take in the sights. I have no intentions of...”

Boom!

The Great Li king made his move and nearly shattered the world with his punch.

Ying Hongyue had disappeared in the blink of an eye and reappeared with a few more black robes by his side.

“Why is Your Majesty so hot-tempered?” he smiled. “There are important matters afoot and Red Moon is not the sort to ignore the times that we are in. If Your Majesty would like us to leave, then we will leave.”

“Are you going to stop this king?” The Great Li king looked coldly at the new black robes.

The ancients looked at each other before the one who’d spoken before said, “Your Majesty, we should focus on the most important task at hand! Leader Ying has agreed to leave and the meeting of the five is about to commence. Surely Your Majesty does not wish for Great Li and Skystar to jointly become the targets of the other sides...”

“You threaten this king?”

“We would not dare!” murmured the black robe. “This is not a threat, just an explanation that the conflict between Your Majesty and Leader Ying is a trifling matter.”

“The Great Li king does not need to be focused on eradicating me,” smiled Ying Hongyue. “My enemy is Li Hao. Everyone’s enemy... is Li Hao.”

“Li Hao says that you wish to destroy the Forbidden Sea and release the limits of the world...” the king suddenly said.

“Your Majesty thinks too highly of me,” Ying Hongyue burst out laughing. “How would I ever?”

“This king had not believed it, but now this king might!” He looked at Ying Hongyue. “You seem stronger than before.”

“Your Majesty praises me too highly.”

“How about this, if you can take three of my blows without dying, I will merely expel you and return for the meeting. What say you?”

“Your Majesty is the ruler of a nation and a sovereign of the world.” Ying Hongyue frowned. “I am simply the leader of a local organization. There is a world of difference between us. Three blows from Your Majesty would mean my death!”

“You have no choice in this matter,” snapped the king. “If you do not accept, then this king will remain here until you are dead. I await Li Hao’s arrival to kill you!”

“Your Majesty... has really seen through me.” Ying Hongyue’s laughter deepened. “Li Hao hates me with every fiber of his being. I really am worried that he would hunt me down. In that case, I hope Your Majesty is a man of your word. Will you cease chasing me if I take three blows?”

“The prerequisite is that you leave Great Li!”

“Of course!”

“Then ready yourself!” Golden light burst out of the Great Li king as his punch split the void.

Ying Hongyue sighed and threw out a weapon—a spear. It hurtled through the air with incredible radiance. The king’s punch connected with it and flung it back.

Ying Hongyue spat out a mouthful of blood and visibly paled. “I have taken your first blow.”

“Was that one of the eight heritage weapons?”

“Your Majesty has keen eyes!”

That was the spear of the Zhous!

A light danced in the king’s eyes as he grunted, bringing a stronger punch to bear. The golden light around him intensified. Ying Hongyue threw out another weapon to meet his blow.

This time, it was a weapon that resembled a chain—the nine-segmented whip of the Zhengs.

Bam!

The whip flew backward as well and vanished, its sentience extinguished. Ying Hongyue spat out blood once more as he flew backward. Despite an ever-paling face, his smile remained radiant. “I have taken your second blow!”

“It is said that Li Hao destroyed the blade of the Zhangs, the mallet of the Hongs, and the boots of the Lius.” The king looked coldly at him. “He wields Stellaris and the shield of the Wangs is at Battle Heaven. That means that you have the boxing gloves of the Zhaos apart from the spear and whip.

“Since the Zhaos were renowned for their boxing techniques, why don’t you put on the gloves and match this king’s next blow?”

“How could Hongyue compare to Your Majesty?” chuckled Ying Hongyue, a reaction echoed by the Great Li king.

“This king would like to see the comparison. Everything we agreed upon is negated if you do not agree! This king would even be willing to permit Li Hao’s primary body into Great Li to fight you!”

“Your Majesty truly is...” Ying Hongyue laughed again. “Then, Hongyue will reach beyond my abilities. I request mercy from Your Majesty!”

A pair of boxing gloves manifested over his hands, as did a pair appear over the Great Li king’s hands. He smiled at the shift in Ying Hongyue’s expression.

“Those... belonged to the Tyrant Sovereign... I wonder if they’re real or not. The Zhaos do not measure up to the Tyrant Sovereign.”

They were both boxing gloves, but one was left behind by an exalted emperor of the nine emperors and four sovereigns era, whereas one was a product of a renowned family. The Zhao ancestors were only half step exalted emperors. There was a great gap between the two.
