Chapter 3520: The Power Of A God

The middle-aged man’s expression was cold and utterly calm. He attacked continuously, sending an endless stream of sourcebox arrays at Lu Yin.

Wu Jin shouted loudly, “Old Salamander, attack!”

Old Salamander instantly attacked the cube.

Nian Xian briefly hesitated, but then he also attacked. Lu Yin’s slight stagger had instilled all the Dukkhans with confidence. The man had to have reached his limit.

Everyone believed that Lu Yin was incapable of continuing, especially given the middle-aged man’s relentless attacks. Even if the Third Boss had not been at his limit, this assault had to have worn him down.

Lu Yin stared at the middle-aged man. “Are you Cheng Gong?”

The middle-aged man met Lu Yin’s gaze. “My son received your attention.”

Lu Yin was starting to understand why Su Shidao was so wary of Cheng Gong. Cheng Gong was said to be a Spirit Treasure Grandmaster, but also not one. Was he really a Spirit Treasure Master? Lu Yin felt confused. How could the man instantly set up sourcebox arrays, let alone so many of them? This defied Lu Yin’s understanding of things.

What was happening should not be possible.

Even if Lu Yin absorbed the memories of every Array Grandmaster who had ever lived, becoming the greatest Grandmaster of all time and surpassing even Progenitor Hui, he knew that he would still not be able to replicate what Cheng Gong was doing.

This was beyond the abilities of any Array Grandmaster.

Had Cheng Gong surpassed the level of mastery achieved by Su Shidao and Progenitor Hui? That was impossible.

Lu Yin continued to endure the sourcebox arrays’ attacks while also suffering from Old Salamander and the others attacking the cube.

While none of the attacks could exceed the limit of Extremes Must Be Reversed, being exposed to so many attacks for so long was pushing Lu Yin’s suppressed power to a limit of its own.

After all, not only did Extremes Must Be Reversed allow a person to endure damage, but it also accumulated power from the damage received.

During Lu Yin’s breakthrough past the Envoy realm, he had used Extremes Must Be Reversed to overpower his humanoid tribulation, which had been Progenitor Chen.

At present, the power that had accumulated from the attacks raining down on Lu Yin had reached a terrifying level.

Lu Yin stared at the distant Cheng Gong, slowly raised his left arm, and then waved it in the direction of Old Salamander.

Space froze, and everything completely stopped moving.

Old Salamander, Wu Jin, and Nian Xian felt a terrible, unimaginable danger envelop them at that moment. This was one of the most dangerous moments of their entire lives.

The sense of crisis had struck the three the moment Lu Yin had waved his left arm.

Lu Yin’s left arm waved gently, producing enough of a breeze to ruffle his hair and disturb his tattered clothes. A bit of the dried blood on his body also fell off.

The moment the dry blood struck the ground, it was as though the universe itself had returned to normal.

No one could describe what they had felt for that brief moment.

All that anyone could see was that Old Salamander, Wu Jin, and Nian Xian had all collapsed to the ground. There was no other difference to be seen anywhere.

What had just happened? There had to have been something.

Aside from the three Dukkhans, no one could know for sure what had transpired.

The three powerhouses lay on the ground, staring up at the starry sky in a daze. The gap between them and the Third Boss was too vast to overcome.

Where were his limits?

Cheng Gong’s pupils shrank to pinpricks. He was terrified by what had occurred before his eyes. How was such a thing possible?

No one could say even a single word.

Some people in the audience felt their strength leave their legs, and they instinctively knelt down. This was the power of a god.

They were not collapsing in fear, but in worship. It was genuine worship, exactly the same as when people laid eyes on the High Seraph.

More and more people started looking at Lu Yin differently. This Third Boss could not be human. He had to be a god.

Who in the Spirit Nidus could defeat him? Just a wave of his hand had defeated three Dukkhans. Such a thing had never been seen in all of history.

This scene brought unprecedented shock to all who had seen it.

The reaction far exceeded Lu Yin’s own expectations. After all, that action had not nearly been as easy as it had appeared.

Extremes Must Be Reversed was unquestionably a miraculous technique. Using it not only allowed a person to suffer attacks without experiencing physical harm, but the damage they should have suffered would also be stored as an accumulating power that could be released in an instant.

Lu Yin had used Extremes Must Be Reversed many times in his battles in the Tianyuan Megaverse, but not once had it delivered such overwhelming shock to the spectators. This was because the attacks that Lu Yin had suffered had allowed an absurd amount of power from Extremes Must Be Reversed to accumulate, to the extent that it far exceeded what others could even imagine. When Lu Yin had finally managed to achieve the strength needed to unleash such power, there had been no enemies left in the Tianyuan Megaverse.

The only one who could have threatened Lu Yin had been True God, but Yong Heng had been forced to undergo rebirth with Tian Ci’s spirit seed. It had been the only way for Yong Heng to break free from the Great Sovereign’s Six Paths of Reincarnation Realm. At the same time that Yong Heng had been reborn, he had retreated to the Spirit Nidus.

It was only after reaching the Spirit Nidus that Lu Yin had gathered and released the maximum amount of power that he was capable of withstanding with Extremes Must Be Reversed.

Such destructive power had been enough to crush multiple Dukkhans. Forget three—even if a few more were added in, they still would not have been able to withstand the power that Lu Yin had accumulated. This was a different level of power.

Even so, Lu Yin had been given that power by Old Salamander and the others. Without their constant attacks, it would have been impossible for Lu Yin to unleash such terrifying power.

If he were capable of such might on his own, Lu Yin still would not be afraid of the High Seraph.

Lu Yin was unable to use this method against the High Seraph because that man possessed the strength to overpower Extremes Must Be Reversed. That difference in power meant that Lu Yin could not accumulate power from those overwhelming attacks.

Essentially, the attack that Lu Yin had released had only been possible because he had been carefully straddling the line separating what he could and could not handle. That had allowed him to transition from the strength of a Seraph to the power of the High Seraph.

Of course, the sight of such a powerful attack was incredibly shocking to all who saw it.

At this moment, the person with the worst reaction was the middle-aged man. If Cheng Gong had known that Lu Yin was capable of unleashing such terrifying power, he would never have appeared.

The man was just an Ortuser, and he lacked the necessary strength for Old Salamander to even consider cooperating with him. Cheng Gong would not have been targeted by Lu Yin without interfering in the fight, as he had been merely one of several Ortusers who had been watching the battle.

Cheng Gong had thought that Lu Yin had reached his limit before attacking, but that was clearly not the case.

Lu Yin’s eyes locked onto the middle-aged man. The God of Death Transformation was dismissed, which caused Lu Yin to suddenly look much weaker.

Cheng Gong grimaced. “I refuse to believe that you haven’t reached your limits yet. Everyone from Heavenspire, attack!”

Several people among the distant spectators hesitated, but they did not have the courage to actually take action.

Cheng Gong’s eyes bulged. “If you refuse to attack, you will be seen as a traitor to Heavenspire.”

Even with his threat, no one made a move. The only people who were qualified to get involved in this fight were sequence powerhouses at the minimum. Even if they were wary of Cheng Gong, that did not mean that he could scare them into charging out and fighting Lu Yin to the death.

No one knew if Lu Yin was truly at his limit or not.

Throughout the duration of battle above the Umbral Deep, people had repeatedly believed that Lu Yin had reached his limit, and yet he had always endured. On the other hand, the Dukkhans who had joined hands against Lu Yin, confident in their victory, had all collapsed in an instant.

Anyone who attacked Lu Yin at this moment would likely end up dead.

Cheng Gong’s expression fell, but before he could say anything, Lu Yin was right in front of him. Cheng Gong’s pupils shrank, and his body faded away and vanished. Another sourcebox array had appeared.

Lu Yin released his inner universe, which revealed the middle-aged man some distance away. As soon as he appeared, stars started to spin.

Lu Yin looked over as he used the Cosmic Art to detonate those stars.

They erupted with deafening booms. The middle-aged man coughed up blood as he went flying, crashing to the ground in the distance.

Lu Yin alone remained standing above the Umbral Deep.

He looked around, panting. While this battle may have looked easy for him, that was far from the truth.

Each ancient powerhouse had their own hidden tricks, but against Lu Yin at his full power, they were still insufficient.

If Lu Yin had not previously dealt with Qian, the Worryless Elder, and Hu Wu and Tian Ya, he would have been in real danger if those people had joined the battle at the Umbral Deep. If any of those people had joined the battle, Lu Yin’s Wheel of Karma, Verdant Eternity, and Natural Art would have likely all been forced out as well.

Everyone watching, both within the Wisdom Domain and the surrounding regions, fell silent at this moment. People did not dare to even breathe too loudly. Everyone was staring at Lu Yin with expressions of fear, shock, and unspoken awe.

They felt as if they had just seen the High Seraph attack.

Who else was capable of fighting this man for the title of Seraph?

Lu Yin stepped forward, appearing beside Wu Jin. The man’s expression showed his desperation as he was imprisoned within the Champions' Stage Purgatory. Lu Yin then immediately moved over to Nian Xian’s side.

The man spoke in a bitter tone. "Brother, I really never wanted to fight you to the death. Can you show me a bit of face?"

Lu Yin did not speak a word as he simply grabbed the man. Dukhans strengthened his Karmic Dao too much.

The moment Wu Jin and Nian Xian were both imprisoned within the Champions' Stage Purgatory, the karmic backlash completely disappeared.

Lu Yin then moved over to Old Salamander.

The ancient powerhouse let out a long breath as he stared blankly up at the sky. He could not even move at this moment. While he still had the Spirit Transformation innate gift of Perfect Rebirth, what was the point of using it? It would still be impossible to escape from this Third Boss.

"Grandfather! Grandfather!" Little Salamander screamed in the distance.

Lu Yin was unphased. An enemy was an enemy. Old Salamander had shown no mercy throughout the battle, and he had even posed the greatest threat. The old freak had set up several ambushes for Lu Yin.

How many Dukkhans were there in the Spirit Nidus? Lu Yin did not know, but he was confident that he had already captured more than half of them.

The foundation that the Spirit Nidus had accumulated over endless years was slowly being weakened by Lu Yin.

Did the High Seraph care? Not at all. As long as he could break through and become an Immortal, the megaverse’s foundation was of absolutely no consequence.

The man also feared that Lu Yin would expose the existence of the Lesser Spirit Megaverse. If that happened, Lu Yin and those who had accompanied him from the Tianyuan Megaverse would not be the only enemies of the Spirit Nidus—the High Seraph himself would be hunted down.

To a certain extent, the fact that Lu Yin was constantly reducing the number of true powerhouses in the Spirit Nidus was actually helpful for the High Seraph.

Even if his strength was unbeatable, that did not mean that he could overpower all of the Spirit Nidus’s experts alone.

Space trembled, and a heavy pressure encroached from the distance, moving closer and closer.

Lu Yin stopped and turned to look up at the sky. Another expert had arrived.

Many of the spectators also looked up. Was another expert willing to attack the Third Boss? Could it be the High Seraph?

Old Tao and those with him suddenly whipped around. They had sensed something behind them.

A huge pair of eyes suddenly appeared, along with a burst of pressure so heavy it became hard for them to breathe.

Astral Anura was instantly on edge. His body took on a multi-colored appearance as he hefted his steel fork and pointed it behind the sedan.

The giant eyes were staring at the toad. "What manner of creature are you?"

Astral Anura grinned as he clenched his steel fork tightly. This creature was dangerous, extremely dangerous. Another ancient Dukkhan had appeared. Just how many ancient powerhouses were still alive in the Spirit Nidus?

"You look familiar. I’ve seen such a creature before." As the creature spoke, the owner of the enormous eyes finally appeared.

Old Tao’s eyes narrowed. "Emperor Wu Slayer?"

Palace Master Yao and Cai Keqing’s expressions both changed. Had even he appeared?

Qing Yun, Qing Xiao, and Ru Mu all turned pale.

Emperor Wu Slayer was a legendary powerhouse, and yet even he had come.

"Have you seen a creature like me before?" Astral Anura’s voice rang out as he stared at the approaching creature. It was a massive beast that looked like an upright lizard with an enormous tail that could move the stars. As the beast moved forward, half of the sky was blocked. He loomed over Old Tao and those with him.

This beast was known as Emperor Wu Slayer, and he was a criminal with eight black spirits on the Black Spirit List.

Emperor Wu Slayer ignored Astral Anura’s question and moved right over to the Umbral Deep. He crashed into the ground with a thunderous impact that shook the earth and kicked up a massive cloud of dust that transformed into a blast of wind that shot at Lu Yin.
