Chapter 630 - 630

"What are you doing here?"
Magneto frowned as he looked at Professor X and the others approaching from the X-Jet.
At his words, over a hundred agents, soldiers, and officers stationed in the distance tensed up, their eyes filled with curiosity and caution. No one knew what these newcomers intended.
All eyes shifted to Professor X's group, waiting to see how they would respond.
But instead of answering directly, Charles—wearing his cerebral amplifier helmet—countered with a question. "Erik, as I recall, your powers never reached this level before. What happened to you?"
He glanced up at the sky, at the countless objects swirling through the air under the influence of Magneto's magnetic field.
Magneto narrowed his eyes and didn't answer right away.
But before he could change the subject, Charles suddenly said something that froze him in place.
"Was it Messiah?"
"Did Messiah enhance your abilities?" Charles asked cautiously.
The moment the words left his mouth, Magneto's expression visibly changed. He frowned deeply. "Charles... how do you know about that?"
Everyone in the group stiffened.
"So it really was Messiah?"
"That power... I can't believe it. He really strengthened you to this extent?"
Even though they had guessed as much, hearing it confirmed still sent shockwaves through Cyclops and the others. They were amazed at both Magneto's sudden surge in power and Messiah's frightening ability to cause it.
Their reactions weren't the only ones.
The surrounding military officers, agents, and even the hidden government officials watching the situation from afar were equally stunned.
"Messiah?"
"Magneto suddenly became this powerful... because of Messiah?"
"Messiah enhanced Magneto's abilities?"
"How the hell is that even possible?!"
They all knew Magneto's prior power level well—yes, he was dangerous, but nothing like this. This was a whole different league.
And now, just from a single enhancement by Messiah, Magneto had become a monster of unimaginable might?
They didn't want to believe it.
Messiah had already been terrifying enough on his own—now he could give others that level of power?
Back on the scene, Magneto frowned again. "Charles, you still haven't answered my question."
"Messiah helped me too," Professor X said with a small smile, tapping the cerebral helmet on his head.
"That helmet?" Magneto asked, looking puzzled.
He had noticed it when Charles stepped off the X-Jet and had wondered why Charles would be wearing something like that.
Now, seeing Charles's expression, it was clear—this device had something to do with Messiah.
Charles nodded. "Messiah made it for me. It enhances my mental powers."
He cast a brief glance at the government agents nearby and decided not to say more. If he revealed everything, those people might panic.
Magneto nodded slightly. He was curious, but didn't press further. Instead, he shifted topics. "Then why are you here?"
"Erik, the damage you've done to this city is serious. Try not to hurt innocent people," Charles urged.
Lately, his outlook had changed. If Erik took action against the government or the military in defense of mutant rights, Charles could almost turn a blind eye.
But when innocent civilians were caught in the crossfire, he couldn't help but feel uneasy.
"Hmph. You're still too soft, Charles," Magneto replied coldly.
Charles didn't argue. He simply sighed and, after a moment's hesitation, said, "Erik, there's something important I need to tell you. It's about Messiah."
Magneto blinked. "What is it?"
Charles scanned the surroundings, noting the nearby agents. Then he released a powerful surge of psychic energy.
In an instant, over a hundred agents and soldiers were enveloped by it. Their eyes glazed over, and they stood motionless, their resistance completely suppressed.
Magneto's curiosity deepened. What could Charles possibly have to say that requires this level of secrecy?
Something about Messiah?
What?
Under his watchful gaze, Charles began slowly.
"Erik, Messiah... he..."
As the explanation continued, the curious expression on Magneto's face faded, replaced by shock and disbelief.
"Messiah is our child?" Magneto asked stiffly, his face rigid. "You're not joking?"
Charles nodded solemnly.
Seeing that, Magneto's eyes went wide. For a moment, he wasn't sure if he was hallucinating.
This is insane.
He and Charles... had a child?
And that child was Messiah?
The being who was practically a mutant god... was his son?
His mind went blank. He almost forgot how to think.
It took a while before he came back to himself. His heart raced, and after the initial shock passed, a sense of joy and realization began to settle in.
"So that's why Messiah helped me..."
Suddenly, everything made sense.
Magneto's expression shifted to one of deep regret. He was now kicking himself for not stopping Messiah from leaving.
At the same time, he wasn't sure how to face Messiah... or even Charles.
Seeing that Erik had come back to his senses, Charles silently released the agents from his psychic hold.
Major Pedro and the others blinked, momentarily dazed—but none of them noticed anything had happened.
Magneto noticed too—but at this point, he had no interest in those people.
In fact, his earlier desire to unleash his power and teach them a lesson had completely vanished.
He said in a low voice, "Charles, I need to go somewhere to clear my head."
And with that, he turned and flew off, intending to leave the area.
But just as he took off, Major Pedro called out loudly, "Wait, Magneto!"
"You haven't given us an explanation! You activated your powers without warning and caused major damage to the city—!"
As he started to deliver a threat, Magneto suddenly stopped in mid-air and turned his icy gaze toward them.
Then he slowly raised his right hand.
Seeing this, Major Pedro's heart sank. A terrible feeling crept over him, and he shouted, "Open fire, now!"
