Starting as a Class Five Mutant-Chapter 646
Chapter 646 - 646
[600PS!!]
Loki only saw a blur before he found himself in a strange, unfamiliar place.
He hesitated as he looked at the glowing, indistinct figure before him.
Of course, he knew exactly who this was.
His face full of hesitation, Loki wasn't sure how to begin the conversation.
At that moment, Syd spoke after a brief pause. "You're aware that Thor and the others have gotten stronger, right?"
His mysterious, almost omniscient voice echoed in the space.
Upon hearing this, Loki's hesitant expression shifted to one of jealousy and envy.
Before he could respond, Syd continued, "I can give you an opportunity."
As he spoke, he glanced at Loki—and in that instant, countless pieces of information and imagery flooded into Loki's mind.
These memories were none other than the events from the Avengers and the Loki series.
Loki's expression changed dramatically as the images played in his head.
He saw himself being strangled to death by Thanos, saw another version of himself on a different timeline.
There, he had been captured by the Time Variance Authority and went through a long series of events.
In the end, that version of him had stepped forward and chosen to sacrifice himself—saving countless timelines and becoming the God of Time, or perhaps more accurately, the God of Stories.
Sitting on a lonely throne, his body glowed with green light, connected to countless timelines.
Those timelines intertwined to form a magnificent, branching Tree of Time.
The sheer grandeur of that scene shook Loki to his core.
And as those memories continued to unfold in his mind—like he had personally experienced them—his pride and arrogance faded, replaced by a profound sense of responsibility.
That sense of responsibility... was precisely what a true king needed.
Just like Odin had once foretold—he and Thor would both eventually become kings.
But this time, it wasn't to rule Asgard, nor the frost giant realm of Jotunheim, as Odin had once envisioned.
Instead, he chose to sacrifice, to sit alone upon a throne, guarding the timelines as a solitary king.
Loki opened his eyes, his expression complicated as he gazed at the glowing, formless figure before him.
He had never expected that someone like himself—who feared loneliness, who craved love and attention—would ultimately make such a choice, to sit in solitude and guard the multiverse's time.
He was conflicted over his own fate and awestruck by the power of the brother of Balder before him.
To witness the past and future so clearly—to even experience it firsthand—was a power that left him fascinated and amazed.
But at this moment, he was also hesitant and puzzled. He subconsciously asked, "What opportunity do you want to give me?"
Hearing this, Syd's voice echoed like truth itself: "The opportunity to become a true God of Time."
"Kang the Conqueror is dead. The timelines outside need managing. I can make you the God of Time—without binding you to any one place."
Hearing such words, spoken so casually, Loki was stunned.
He could do even that?
He couldn't believe it.
While he was still reeling, Syd asked calmly, "What's your choice?"
As soon as the words fell, Loki quickly nodded.
Though it came with responsibilities, he'd be a fool to refuse such power.
Thor had already become so strong—Loki had no intention of being left behind.
Seeing Loki's nod, Syd wasn't surprised.
Since the choice had been made—
The next second, with a thought, his omniscient and omnipotent power erupted.
Inside the dark citadel, radiant light suddenly flooded the space.
Countless glowing time streams were forcibly drawn in by his immense, godlike power.
They didn't resist—because they couldn't.
In the next instant, under Loki's stunned gaze, all those time streams shot straight toward him.
"Ah—!"
Loki cried out as his body was suddenly linked to stream after stream of time.
At the same time, those streams began to glow with green light—carrying Loki's power with them.
And then, one by one, the glowing green time streams vanished as if they had never existed at all.
While Loki was still receiving the power of the timelines, Syd quietly observed him—watching his rapidly growing strength and preparing a small restriction.
Each timeline was essentially its own parallel universe, and with Loki's current power, he could destroy them with ease.
If he did so recklessly, it would lead to disaster sooner or later.
With that in mind, Syd's eyes lit up with white radiance as he began to create something.
In the next moment, as Loki continued absorbing the timelines' power—
A voice suddenly rang out in his head:
"Ding. The Timekeeper System is now at your service, Lord Loki."
Loki was momentarily dumbfounded, not understanding what had just happened.
Then, as more information poured into his mind along with the system's voice, he finally understood.
This system had been created by Balder's brother before him—to assist and supervise him.
If he destroyed too many timelines without cause, his power would be restricted and locked away for a period of time.
To lift that restriction, he'd have to behave properly and earn it back.
But if he managed the timelines well, this so-called Timekeeper System could also help him absorb energy—slowly climbing higher and higher.
Eventually, he could even become the strongest being beneath OAA.
As for who or what OAA was, Loki didn't know. The only thing he got from the information was that it was a terrifyingly powerful entity.
That thought helped calm Loki's heart a bit.
Seeing that Loki had finished receiving the timeline's power and the Timekeeper System had activated, Syd paused and said, "I'll leave this place to you. I'm heading out."
Before Loki could say anything, Syd's figure vanished instantly—without even a ripple in space.
In the blink of an eye, he reappeared within the Solar System of Universe-616.
As for Loki, after taking in the sight of the citadel for a while, he decided to return to Asgard—intent on finding Thor.
While Loki acted—
Syd stood within the solar system, gazing silently at the glowing sun in the distance.
He was deep in thought, pondering his next step.
Now that his God Template had reached 100%, and he was essentially omniscient and omnipotent, he suddenly found himself at a loss for what to do.
The former mission of lighting up and conquering universes... no longer held meaning.
In fact, he had temporarily suppressed the changes his powers would have caused upon the outside world—choosing to wait until he reached Omnipotence Level Five before releasing that pressure.
Otherwise, the resulting shockwaves would be simply too massive.
Sensing his current power, Syd murmured quietly to himself:
"My current strength has already surpassed the multiversal level... and reached far beyond the realm of an omniversal being..."
