Chirp!

The small bird beast made a sound. It was dizzy for a second. Now it has recovered its strength.

While Jeremy Night recalled the name of the beast by observing its appearance.

"It looks like a finch. Could it be a hybrid?" Jeremy thought.

But he had confirmed one thing: he couldn't fight against the hooded figures all at the same time.

Swoosh!

So he decisively chose to leave. He immediately disappeared from the spot.

The beast tamer commanding the finch lifeline bird was startled. He hadn't expected the target to flee without fighting.

He then informed his team leader, who was standing not far away from him. The team leader, who was wearing a hoodie, had watched the target flee from the spot.

His eyes flickered. He immediately thought of the target's other two companions. He didn't want to let them go. But their task's main objective was to eliminate the target named Jeremy Night.

Swoosh!

He moved from the spot and started to give chase, seeing that the other three followed him from behind. The beast tamer, who had the finch lifeline beast, followed them after putting the lifeline beast in the mental zone.

Time passed.

While fleeing, he came across corrupted beasts. But he ignored all of them by changing direction. But it's a pity no high-tier beasts found him.

He wouldn't have hoped for it during a normal situation. But the current situation is dire. If a higher-tier beast appeared, he could make use of it.

The killer would face the beast while he could use the opportunity to escape. But it's a pity he had been fleeing non-stop into the deeper parts of the wilderness.

There were no high-tier beasts in the vicinity. The current direction led him to the same place where he had faced the worm beast.

It was an officially unexplored area of the wilderness. Last time, City Governor Elton had slain the worm beast. But he didn't know whether other worm beasts were living in it or not.

But he had no choice other than to lead the group to the unexplored area. If it was one Tier-4 Beast Tamer, he could fight. But it was impossible to fight 5 Tier-4 Beast Tamers and their lifeline beasts.

Jeremy's eyes turned icy. He increased his speed by using the movement technique "The Explosive Steps."

Swoosh!

He started going towards the unexplored area at fast speed.

In contrast, the hooded mercenaries were still giving chase at a normal speed. It's just that they were more cautious of their surroundings.

They didn't want to be seen by a Tier-5 Corrupted Beast. A single Tier-5 Beast could kill one or two of them easily. It was just that they felt hatred towards the kid.

Their target was a mere Tier-1 Beast Tamer. He had been frantically running away, not minding the surroundings at all.

It's just that the New Mercenary Team misunderstood why Jeremy Night was running away.

"Ignorant kid!"

"His reckless behavior will kill him before he ends up dead in our hands," a hooded figure uttered.

Hearing that, the others agreed as well. They were veteran Tier-4 Beast Tamers. They knew the dangers of the wilderness.

Yet a single Tier-1 Beast Tamer was recklessly fleeing towards the depths of the wilderness.

It was just that they had taken up a task. They had to kill Jeremy Night. Even if he ended up dead from the mouths of the corrupted beasts, they had to collect his corpse.

So the group was neither fast nor slow in their speed. They continued to keep their eyes on the target's back.

If the target wanted to die in the mouths of the powerful beasts, they could watch from a distance without fighting against the beasts.

Time passed.

Jeremy reached the unexplored area an hour later. He recognized the change in soil type. This soil type allowed for free movement of the worm-type beasts underground.

Last time, he had failed to see these things. But during his break time at the university, he had gained a lot of knowledge.

Jeremy felt a sense of urgency. Now that he had come to their territory, it would be a matter of time before the worm beasts sensed the changes.

The killer group behind him was also catching up. He figured that they were deliberately maintaining their gap in fear of the higher-tier beasts.

His mouth curved into an arc. Thanks to their thinking, he was able to get away unharmed. Then his eyes swept across the worm territory before finding a dead tree.

The dead tree's branches were dead; only a wide trunk and roots remained.

Jeremy immediately darted towards that place. He thought that spot was safe. He believed that the dead tree was located in the middle of the territory.

In the blink of an eye, he arrived at the tree. At the same time, the Mercenary Team entered the worm territory as well. They didn't have any clue about the land underneath their feet.

They were casually moving inside the worm beast territory.

Their leader saw the silhouette of Jeremy Night hiding behind the tree.

"Looks like the lad ran out of fuel," he sneered.

Then the team slowed their speed and started walking on foot towards Jeremy Night.

"Kid, you are brave. You dared to run around in the wilderness. It's a pity that you didn't die at the mouths of the corrupted beasts."

"It's your fate to die in our hands," the leader said in a mocking tone.

Hearing that, the other members smiled and laughed as well. They didn't feel any tension at this moment because the current land was quite vast. There were no beasts in the vicinity.

Even if any higher-tier beasts appeared, they could still escape from the place.

The leader removed his hoodie, revealing a scarred forehead visible under the light. He was still wearing a mask.

"You guys stay here. I'm going to take the kid's head." After saying that, the leader started walking towards the dead tree.

Jeremy Night's heart was racing. He was not at all scared of the Tier-4 Beast Tamers; rather, he was worried about whether the worm beasts would make an appearance.

If they appeared, he would have to use that chance to escape.
