Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 108: Morning Coffee
Chapter 108: Morning Coffee
’Are there any Ranks higher than five?’
[The system does not have any data pertaining to that information. But from information gathered across the Primordial Expanse, the system believes there might be worlds existing outside of the Primordial Expanse that are higher than Rank V.]
’Alright, let’s not bother about that for now. It’s already bad enough that I have to deal with so many worlds inside the Primordial Expanse. If the Rank I’s are the weakest, then what Rank is Earth in?’
[The world known as Earth is graded as a Rank II world due to their knowledge of the Primordial Expanse and the existence of multiple mana-wielding individuals within the world. Their strongest inhabitant is currently an SSS Rank individual.]
’Damn, we’re weak as fuck.’
Jason frowned worriedly when he saw what the system wrote out. If they were only a Rank II world, then they weren’t even close to strong enough to handle the most powerful worlds out there. Avaran had been a Rank IV world and they weren’t able to stand up to the Rank V world that attacked them. That means it would be very easy for the Primordial to completely destroy Earth if they were attacked now.
Jason needed to get stronger faster. And he also needed to make the people around him stronger as well. He and his army might be powerful, but he needed more allies.
Another thought suddenly came to Jason and he frowned before he asked a question.
’How strong is the world of Radagan?’
The system sent back a response.
[The world of the Dragonborn, Radagan, is a Rank III world due to the presence of multiple fully matured Elite Rank Ashenvalley Dragons and Wyverns.]
’They’re stronger than us. I just hope the system is right about them not having any way to track the princess back to this world. It’ll be difficult to fight back if they attack us with a mature dragon.’
Jason remembered that the system told him the adult dragons were very prideful so they refused to allow anyone to tame or ride them. That meant that the Dragonborn would likely not attack them with the dragons even if they were to come to Earth. At least, that was what Jason hoped!
’Is there an adult Dragon in your army?’
Jason directed this last question toward the Dragonborn soldier who was inside his Alternate Dimension, and the Dragonborn responded that they didn’t have one. The Dragonborn was sitting beside some of the large wolves that were taking a nap and he shook his head while passing his message to Jason.
[The Radagan army only has contracts with young Dragons and Wyverns. If we have an adult Dragon, then I do not know of it. But it is very unlikely.]
Jason hummed as he finished drying out his hair and walked towards the living room. At least he could set his mind at ease that they wouldn’t be attacked anytime soon. But that didn’t mean he would let his guard down. He still had to get stronger for the worst-case scenario.
He saw that Gina already woke up and he grinned when he smelled coffee coming from the kitchen. Jason called out a greeting and Gina answered back with a smile in her voice. She asked Jason how he wanted his coffee and he told her black with no sugar.
Jason went and got changed into his uniform and a few minutes later he came out and saw Gina setting the table with some toast and coffee. Jason walked up behind her and kissed her cheek and Gina reached back to run her hand through his hair before bringing him down for a deeper kiss.
"Morning babe. Did you check on our princess?"
Gina spoke with a small smile and Jason hummed as he moved to take a seat. He took a bite from the toast and grimaced a little when he tasted some salt on it. He gave Gina a look of sheer disbelief and she blinked innocently like she didn’t know what the hell she had done wrong! Who the hell puts salt on bread before toasting it!? Jason shook his head and braced himself before simply eating the rest of the toast quickly! It wasn’t so bad if you held your breath!
Gina sat down opposite Jason and she ate her toast like there was nothing wrong with it, and Jason wondered how fucked her tastebuds were for her to see this as normal food! Jason took his coffee and drank it slowly as Gina spoke up again. Thankfully there was nothing wrong with the coffee.
"I can’t believe you’re really going back to school. I thought you would drop out in a heartbeat."
"I would’ve, but Mum had a point when she told me to go back. Besides, there’s someone I want to meet about selling Magic Crystals."
Gina shrugged along in slight agreement. Gina remembered how quickly she dropped out of school after gaining her Gift, so she thought it would be the same for Jason since he was so focused on work. But at the same time, she knew that Jason had already made a lot of money from the Magic Crystals he sold. Maybe he wasn’t that worried about work anymore because he was confident in making more money.
"How about you? What are you doing today?"
Jason asked this while finishing off his coffee and Gina answered quickly.
"I’m going to New York with the guild. A Red Gate opened and we won the contract for it, so we want to clear it out as soon as possible. The message I got from the guild said I was ’very important’ to the success of the raid so I should try to be present. I had this spar with one of the guys from my guild yesterday. He would usually wipe the floor with me anytime we sparred in the past, but this time, I won so easily that I couldn’t believe it. I think they’re starting to take me more seriously because of it. The current vice-captain even told them that they’ve been thinking about giving him the Vice-captain position."
Jason’s mouth split into a proud grin. It was always nice to hear about your girl wiping the floor with someone else, but there was something about the way she spoke that told Jason there was more to this. He put the coffee cup aside.
"Are you going to take the offer?"
Jason asked calmly, but he was surprised when he saw Gina’s face scrunch up slightly. It was the same look she would always have when she was conflicted about something and didn’t know what to do yet. Jason asked Gina what was wrong and Gina sighed and drank some of her own coffee before saying:
"I don’t know if I want to take it. When I didn’t stand a chance at getting it, I felt like it was everything I wanted. But now that I might actually get it, I don’t really feel anything. And when we were talking yesterday, my superior said something that made me doubt their actual motive. I think... I think they only want to give me the position so I can convince you to join our guild."
Jason scoffed in disbelief once he heard that. Did those idiots really think it was a good idea to use her loved ones against Gina? If there was one thing that Gina hated, it was putting the people she cared about in danger. Trying to use him as a bargaining chip was the last thing they should have done.
Jason reached out and took Gina by the hand.
"Do you actually want the position?"
Gina looked into Jason’s eyes, and she saw that he was asking her for her honest opinion. She looked into herself and thought about it for a few seconds and by the time she opened her eyes again, she realized that she really wanted it.
