Awa turned around to thank Vincent for how great she was feeling. She felt running for a long time was possible, with the energy boost empowering her.

When Vincent entered her view, Awa was surprised to see Vincent looking at her so attentively. It made Awa think that Vincent had become attracted to her.

Awa smiled. She helped her mother hold her father and went to embrace Vincent, shocking her parents the most.

The moment Awa placed her lips against Vincent’s, her parents didn’t know if their daughter was merely thanking Vincent for saving her life or if she was in love with him.

The view appeared to be very passionate from all angles. Enough to cause Amie, Lamin, and the Dullahans’ eyes to forget how to blink.

All of them became astonished to see Awa show such romantic feelings in this dangerous time. It was the time to escape, and death was looming around the corner, yet Awa chose to kiss Vincent.

[Haha. Awa is sucking the living soul out of you. If we weren’t in a hurry, I would suggest taking this business elsewhere.] Kazumi joked. She wanted to try to lighten the mood.

Vincent grabbed Awa’s shoulders and moved her away from him. *Cough, cough* After regaining some of the air Awa sucked with her inexperience, he said, “Now is the time to leave. We can not delay our escape.”

“But I want to thank you for...”

“Awa. I know you are happy to be alive and feel better, but I have bad news to tell you.”

“Bad news?” Awa questioned. A bad thought flashed in her mind, and she became frightened. “A-a-am I not to your liking yet?”

Vincent gently shook his head. “No. It is not about your appearance. It is about what is inside of you.”

“What do you mean?” Awa questioned while one hand pinched her belly and the other touched one of her breasts.

“Didn’t you tell me all Dullahans awaken into the warrior class because of your ancestral blood?”

Awa nodded.

“I helped you awaken a class, yet not with the power of your warrior bloodline. Instead, as the Soul Hero, I helped you awaken a class you, or more possibly, your soul desired.”

Vincent rubbed her shoulders reassuringly and continued, “You awakened into an Alchemist. You can now have an easier time dividing the nutrients of one plate of food into many as you worked hard to learn.”

Awa became shocked. She found it strange to know certain things she had never tried to utilize before. Upon hearing Vincent pointing this fact out, Awa could understand why she knew knowledge she had never tried using before.

“But... but our daughter looks stronger...” Amie said in a wavering voice.

“How can our sweet daughter not become a warrior? She learned from me for a long time. ” Lamin said while showing signs of fainting from shock.

Vincent looked around him. He looked at the Dullahans gazing at Awa as if they had heard the biggest and most shocking lie in their entire lives. As if Labh and his mother manipulating their resources was nothing compared to his news.

“Previously, you followed Awa because of her ability to lead and not because she was unawakened. A warrior can be a leader, and a leader can be a warrior. Your belief to follow Awa should not change simply because she is not a warrior.”

Vincent pointed in the direction of the immobilized undead bear. “Tell me. Since all of you have the warrior class, can any one of you defeat that monster?”

No person responded to Vincent’s question. They knew it was impossible to fight against such a monstrosity and hoped to win. Any Dullahan who went to challenge the undead bear would surely die.

“Everyone’s silence is the correct answer. Regardless of combat powers, a leader is needed. All of you need someone like Awa to lead you.”

Awa felt like a failure as she could not call herself a proud Dullahan after hearing the news about her class. She felt like the black sheep of her entire Dullahan bloodline.

Awa felt ashamed to be a Dullahan. Awa knew her parents were going to be mocked for not bearing a proud Dullahan warrior.

Tears welled in her eyes, but the moment Awa heard Vincent’s speech, she realized being a warrior, or an alchemist, meant nothing in the face of overwhelming power.

The power of a class meant nothing when it was impossible to defeat a monster like the undead bear.

Awa became happy Vincent remained on her side. When she felt ashamed to exist, Vincent spoke favorably and tried to make the other Dullahans accept the new Awa in front of them.

Awa realized how great it felt to have someone on her side at all times. Even if Awa’s parents were on her side, they were currently still shocked to hear this news. They feared their daughter was going to suffer in the future.

Vincent looked at Awa and smiled. “Awa. Regardless of your different class, you are more special than all the Dullahans here combined.”

Awa wiped her face and blushed. The face of the man complimenting her was too close. The pair of emerald eyes captivated her.

“Because of the little Cefeye, you gained a trait to control an almost indestructible hair-like needle.”

“You also can receive double the nutrient benefits after consuming something such as food, beverage, or a potion.”

“And lastly. You can summon a horse. You can let your father and other injured Dullahans who can not walk properly escape from here.”

[Vincent... I do not think you said something strange, but why are they looking at Awa as if they are seeing her naked?]

Vincent looked around him.

-I didn’t say anything special... I think. Right?-

Both Vincent and Kazumi could not understand why the Dullahans stared at Awa. Even Amie and Lamin stared at Awa.

“Did I hear right? A horse?”

“I also heard a horse. Can it be what I think it is?”

“But Awa isn’t a warrior. How can it be that?”

Vincent tapped on Awa’s shoulder. “What are they talking about? Your trait, Dark Knight, lets you summon a horse that shares a soul with you. Do you people know something I can not see with my eyes?” He asked.

“Dark Knight? Could it be?”

“Impossible... has Awa been chosen by our ancestors to become the legendary Dullahan warrior?”

“But how can someone who isn’t a warrior become like the Dullahans of legends?”

The mood changed and the present Dullahans forgot about the undead bear slowly recovering its mobility. They forgot they were still in front of death’s door and started to act happy.

“Is it true? Daughter, can you really summon a horse? Can you help transport the injured and your father?” Amie asked.

“My sweet daughter. I do not care if your man is telling the truth or not. I will believe in you. Always.” Lamin said warmly.

Awa moved Vincent’s hands down. She took a step back. She grabbed the back of her black neck and pulled smoke.

The smoke quickly formed a cape made out of smoke. It didn’t leave a shadow on the ground as if the cape was a shadow itself.

All of a sudden, the Dullahans who could kneel kneeled, and those who could not, respectfully bowed. Even Awa’s parents bowed at the view of Awa with a cape made from the darkness of her neck.

Vincent was surprised by the dramatic view in front of him. He compared the view to a queen being at the center of her subjects. All the Dullahans, including her parents, showed respect.

Awa grabbed the end of her shadow cape, pulled it, and threw it in an empty area. The cape expanded, and the smoke became denser.

Second after the other, a mare without a head took shape. The area where the neck connects to the head was gentle dark smoke rising. The mane and the tail were also made from moving condensed smoke.

Similar to the cape, the mare didn’t leave a shadow on the ground, as if the mare was a shadow itself.

[Headless horsewoman!] Kazumi exclaimed as Awa was a Dullahan and her horse was without a head.

Vincent also had the same thought. Awa threw her cape and, like a magic show, summoned a strong-looking horse without a head.

All eyes were on the mighty black mare. The Dullahans appeared so delighted at this moment that they didn’t know what to say. They were too amazed to witness a Dullahan in their lifespan become like the Dullahans of legends.

“Vincent Vincent. Is horsie stronger than foxes or wolves?” *Pho?*

Vincent didn’t need to answer Plow. The Dullahans did for him.

“The horse of legends is in front of us!”

“The horse that can never die and can reach incredible speeds is in front of us!”

While the Dullahans were excitedly talking and forgetting the undead bear wasn’t going to remain immobilized forever, Amie and Lamin congratulated their daughter with a hug.

“We are proud of you, my daughter. Now you can have a bright future ahead of you. The mighty horse can let you escape from harm’s way.” Amie said.
