751 I will move faster even if I have to bleed

“One charge was not enough for you. But let’s see how your regeneration works with a finger shank.” Vincent taunted while extending one finger.

*Whoosh* Two figures behind Vincent passed swiftly. They hastily moved while sparks and tiny fragments of claws fell on the ground.

Lupa and Speedy were running while attacking from time to time. As anyone would expect, Lupa was lacking the in the speed department and could only barely keep up by overexerting her body to the limits.

Lupa had learned from the sparing sessions with Lucas that she could not beat an opponent far faster than her. Yet Speedy was less fast than Lucas.

It made Lupa believe she could take him on. Or, more accurately, Lupa had to take Speedy on as she had no other choice. Her life and the lives of her teammates were on the line if she did not keep Speedy busy.

The two quickly reached the edge of the field. One was still getting used to his speed because he could not balance his body when he tried to move at full speed. The other was overworking her entire body to keep up with the gladiator that was not moving at full speed.

After reaching the edge of the field, they started running around it. The field had an oval shape, and no fighter was currently fighting near the edge of the field.

As they started running along the edge of the field, the audience could not keep track of everything they were doing. They found it jarring to move their head and try to keep both fighters in their view at the same time.

Speedy ran while attacking. His attacking ratio was about three times more than Lupa attacked.

.....

Instead of attacking in a losing battle, Lupa chose to do as her instincts told her to do. Her combat pattern changed as how it changed went she was in the forest fighting for her life.

Previously, when Lupa was in the changing room preparing for the judgment by combat, she heard a piece of information that made her grin.

The barrier was a one-way entry type of invisible protective barrier. Based on the entry rules, any living being could enter the barrier without a problem. Exiting was a different story.

Unless the rules were followed, no one could leave. The barrier was like a trap. One where only the creator could remove whenever he wanted to.

If the living beings trapped wanted to get out, they had no other recourse than attacking the barrier directly. Every damage they inflict will use some of the barrier’s mana. When the mana keeping it stable to exist reduces to a certain point, the barrier spell collapses.

Lupa used the no exit rule of the barrier to her advantage. She leaped onto the invisible wall and jumped down as if she was a kangaroo.

Lupa used the barrier like she used the trees. She was using the barrier as a footing to jump higher or evade an attack by elevating herself away from the large swole gladiator.

This was the reason Speedy was the one doing the most attacking. His opponent was too energetic and moved too erratically to hit.

Furthermore, the fight remained the same even if Speedy was getting used to his speed and gradually trying to reach his new speed limits. Lupa kept evading his attack with a hair’s length.

The longer Lupa used Primal Inisght, the more discerning she became. However, not at a cheap cost.

Lupa was trying her best to suppress the pain with Primal Insight. She was focusing on winning instead of the pain of her entire body. Her current driving force was her will to keep fighting until her opponent lay on the ground.

Yet, the situation could turn around with one mistake. That is what happened to Lupa.

Speedy decided to stop trying to kill his opponent by force. He chose to trick Lupa by faking a wide swing.

Lupa moved her body before the attack as if she could see the future from her enhanced senses because this was the way she could keep up with her speed disadvantage.

Moving the moment her opponent started an attack was her achilles heel. Lupa moved to evade the attack, but the attack she perceived Speedy was going to do stopped around halfway.

Instead, Lupa perceived him lean his body and forcefully headbutt her side. After receiving a critical hit, Lupa landed on the ground with a loud thud. She rolled two meters on the ground from the momentum of their speed.

Lupa gritted her teeth and dug her claws into the ground to stop herself from rolling more meters.

Lupa slowly stood up on all fours while holding her injured side. Her legs were trembling as if they had been used to their limits and couldn’t take much more use. As if the legs were about to suffer painful muscle cramps soon.

Lupa growled at Speedy before coughing a drop of blood on the ground. It was a sign Lupa was more injured than she was showing from her tough act.

Speedy took this as a sign of his victory. He also noticed Lupa’s legs tremble, causing him to smirk. *Step.* He took a step to approach Lupa and cut her down after not only learning of Lupa’s weakness but also injuring her.

Like how Lupa was unlucky, it was Speedy’s turn to experience an unfortunate occurrence.

An unexpected attack rose from the ground. *Slash* Speedy swiftly swung his swords at the dozens of vines extending from the ground.

Speedy cut about dozens of small vines before they stopped appearing. He scoffed at the weak ambush because his legs were only scratched. The ambush had more impact than the attack, he arrogantly believed.

Lupa could smell Speedy’s foul-smelling blood on his legs. Additionally, she could sense the muscles shift to cover the smaller than one-millimeter scratches.

“Ladies and gentlemen! I think this is it! First was Awa Lionheart, who we do not know if she is alive or not. Now we might be seeing Lupa Lionheart lose.” The commentator said, causing Ester, Vincent, and Mimi to glance in Lupa’s direction.

Even if Lupa had her emotions suppressed, hearing she was going to lose caused her expression of anger to appear for the first time while using Primial Insight finally.

The white handkerchief covering her eyes became red because of her bleeding ears. Her hearing was not as good as before, and her nose was also starting to bleed.

Lupa grabbed the bloody handkerchief and wrapped it around her arm. She leaned her body and extended all twenty of her claws, and energy collected around them.

Lupa opened her eyes. They were brightly shining golden. Her previous emotional gaze returned to an expressionless cold-blooded murderer.

*Swoosh, swoosh* “Come and die, kitty cat.” Speedy taunted with an unpleasantly confident grin on his face.

Lupa used Primial Inisght to force her legs to run faster than before. She hastily sprang forward, much faster than before, as if she wanted to end everything in this move.

Speedy took a step forward and frowned. His leg was twice as heavy as before all of a sudden.

Speedy glanced down and noticed his skin had an unusual color. He quickly understood the vines were weak, but most definitely poisoned.

As Lupa reached Speedy with greater speed, she leaped. Her arms became blurry, and Speedy’s arms also became blurry.

Sparks soon appeared, yet this time, the two gave the impression of fighting almost equally.

Lupa abused her body to its limits, while multiple types of poisons, such as numb and sleepy, poisoned Speedy. His legs trying to support his heavy and large body was making it a challenge to keep his body balanced.

Lupa landed on her feet after a lengthy exchange of swings. Bloody tears rained from her bloodshot eyes. She was not faring well.

Speedy frowned. He touched his chest and noticed his blood was on his hands. Her claws scratched him, yet he was more confused than worried.

Speedy did not see the claws reaching his chest, yet they reached him anyway, as if her claws had a long reach invisible to his eyes.

*Boom*

The audience looking at Lupa’s fight moved their gaze to the middle of the field. They saw Awa and Night land a joint kick to the bear’s belly.

The bear, being distracted by the constant annoyance from the tendrils, was suddenly hit after both Awa and Night shot from the protective tendrils.

The bear lost its balance because Zero used what tendrils remained to bind its two large feet. This caused the bear to fall on its back and slam its head against the barrier.

“Ladies and gentlemen! It appears I have spoken too soon! Awa Lionheart and her horse, now wearing a dark knight’s armor, have magically made a speedy recovery.”

“They not only have taken us by surprise, but also the huge grizzly bear familiar. However, I wonder how much pain did it feel.”

Vincent, Kazumi, Ester, Lupa, and Mimi became relieved to hear the commentator announce the great news. They could keep fighting while not feeling the need to finish their fight urgently.

Awa and Night landed on the ground. Awa looked in her parent’s direction. She could not see what her parents’ reactions were, but she hoped they were not too worried about the surprise attack she had received.

“Night. Let’s not make our parents worried anymore.” She said while raising her hand, and a shadow flame appeared on her palm.

*Neigh* Night also raised her hand, and a shadow flame also appeared on her palm.
