As a guardian deity of Melemele Island and a Tier 2 Legendary Pokémon, Tapu Koko wasn't about to fall after just one hit.

Although severely injured, it shook off the effects of Yawn and finally released its long-prepared move.

Tapu Koko slammed into the ground, sending out a pink shockwave that radiated across the entire Electric Terrain.

Slowking was struck by the wave, its body flung into the air before being engulfed by a massive beam of light.

The fight was full of twists and turns. Just as Lillie had been celebrating Slowking's hit on Tapu Koko, she found herself worried again.

"Don't worry. Luo Yuan isn't the type to lose easily," Sabrina reassured her.

The group turned to Sabrina, who offered no further explanation.

Her gaze was fixed on Luo Yuan.

Since the day she had met him, Sabrina had never seen Luo Yuan lose a battle he truly wanted to win.

As expected, when Slowking was hit, Luo Yuan didn't panic. Instead, a subtle smile spread across his face.

The Slowking struck by the beam of light vanished like a bubble.

It was a Substitute!

Realizing it had been tricked, Tapu Koko tried to locate Slowking, only to hear a thunderous crash from the ocean.

Turning its gaze, it saw Slowking riding atop a towering wave, having used Surf to summon a massive wall of water.

The tidal wave loomed over the battlefield, so immense that even Sabrina had to use her psychic powers to shield Lillie and the others from its reach.

Tapu Koko quickly assessed its options. Unless it fled and ended the battle, there was no escaping the wave's overwhelming range.

Resolving not to retreat, Tapu Koko braced itself.

Boom!

The colossal wave crashed down, slamming into Tapu Koko with the force of a cannonball and sending it flying.

But Slowking wasn't done yet.

"Psychic!"

A concentrated wave of telekinetic energy struck Tapu Koko from the opposite direction, sending it hurtling back toward the battlefield.

Still in its shell from bracing against Surf, Tapu Koko resembled a ball as it was battered by the attack.

Leaping gracefully from the wave, Slowking locked its sharp gaze onto the airborne Tapu Koko.

The glow of psychic energy lit up Slowking's crown as it used telekinesis to force open Tapu Koko's protective shell, revealing the disoriented and battered guardian inside.

With a powerful leap, Slowking propelled itself into the air.

Slowking's head glowed as it delivered a devastating blow to Tapu Koko's unprotected body.

Crash!

Tapu Koko was launched skyward once more.

Anyone paying close attention could see that its eyes had already lost focus.

Psychic, Surf, Psychic again, and now Zen Headbutt.

The relentless onslaught had finally overwhelmed Tapu Koko, leaving it unable to continue the fight.

Slowking, meanwhile, performed a smooth mid-air flip before landing lightly on the sand.

Glancing at the unconscious Tapu Koko sprawled on the beach, it let out a yawn, exposing its belly as it stretched.

Slowking's HP fully recovered.

Then, reverting to its Slowbro form, it promptly began slacking off again.

Watching the battle-hardened Slowking return to its laid-back demeanor, Kiawe and the others stared in disbelief.

They shifted their gaze to the defeated Tapu Koko on the sand.

Was this the strength of their teacher?

Luo Yuan, noticing their awe-struck expressions, smiled faintly.

His victory was a product of precise psychic control and tactical brilliance.

While Tapu Koko, as a Tier 2 Legendary, could have secured the fight with a single Wild Charge landing squarely on Slowking, Luo Yuan's psychic tracking and strategy prevented it from ever getting the chance.

From the very beginning, the battle had unfolded entirely on Luo Yuan's terms.

For the onlookers, it seemed like Tapu Koko had been utterly outmatched, incapable of fighting back.

Just as Luo Yuan prepared to explain the tactics behind the battle to his students, he suddenly paused, his expression shifting.

Looking into the distance, he spotted Professor Kukui approaching with someone.

That someone appeared to be... Hala, the Island Kahuna of Melemele Island?

He'd just defeated their guardian deity, and now the aggrieved party had come knocking!
