Chapter 1021: SIDE STORY (WILL): A LITTLE HAPPY FAMILY

Will was very nervous, he couldn’t sit still when he learned that Hanna was going into a labor. He kept pulling his hair in distress, which made Hanna stopped him.

"Don’t do that, are you going to pluck all of your hair and become a bald father?" She chuckled, though she was in pain. Her contraction was getting closer the baby would be here soon and she couldn’t help, but feeling very expectant, but she was also worried about Will, since he looked like he was going to tear down something by the time she actually gave birth.

"You shouldn’t have gotten you pregnant," Will said in small voice.

Will loved his future child, he was going to do everything in his power to ensure their safety and happiness, but he couldn’t bear to see how Hanna was in so much pain. He loved her mate so much and all the scary stories about pregnancy and labor plagued his mind for weeks before the labor.

"Hey, I will be fine. Don’t frown, you will scare the baby," Hanna said gently. She caressed his cheek and Will kissed her hand.

"You shouldn’t have comforted me when you are the one, who is in pain..." Will felt bad again.

"I think I picked up a new habit."

By that time, Iris was also there, which alleviated some of Will’s worry because he knew how much the queen loved his mate and she wouldn’t let anything happen to Hanna.

Thankfully, the process was a smooth sailing and in less than two hours, Hanna had given birth to a beautiful baby boy. He was crying so hard and loud, as if he wanted to announce his presence to the whole world, so people would know.

It was a beautiful and a very memorable moment in Will’s mind when he held his son for the first time. He was crying until his face turned red and balled his fist to stuff it into his mouth. His baby was very adorable and the moment Will laid his eyes on him, he felt like his world was only getting better.

He fell in love with his boy in an instant. He and Hanna was his world. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"Congratulation!" the queen said, she had tears in her eyes too. Later, the king also came to see the baby and hold him for a while. "Give the baby to the mother, I am sure he is hungry."

Will immediately gave their baby to Hanna, so she could breastfeed him for the first time. It was a beautiful moment.

"Hm... baby, I think you need to slow down..." Will frowned to see how his baby was greedily eating. The queen was right, the baby was hungry. "Is it hurt?" He looked worried for his mate.

"Not really, but I think I will get used to it."

Will’s brows furrowed. "It looks painful."

For the next days, when Hanna was recuperating, Will would stay by her side, he literally was doing everything that he could to accommodate her and he would be the one, who woke up at night to accompany his baby whenever he was awake, unless the baby was hungry, it was beyond him.

Will suggested to have a wet nurse for their baby, so Hanna could rest, but she refused, stating that the queen didn’t have a wet nurse for the twin. More so, she loved her time when she was breastfeeding the baby. She felt the bond with her son.

"Axel is a beautiful name," Hanna said to Will’s suggestion for their baby. "I love the name."

With that they named their firstborn with Axel. Baby Axel was an easy baby to take care of, because he didn’t make a fuss and most of the time, he would sleep.

"Hanna, Hanna!" Will was frantic when he watched the baby rolled over for the first time, or when Axel mumbled his first word. "Don’t you think that he said daddy?"

Will felt extremely guilty when their baby fell from the bed because he put his guard down. Axel had started to roll over, thus he rolled to the side of the bed and fell.

Will almost cried when he frantically rushed toward the healer to get his son checked.

Sometime, Hanna had to remind him that he needed to relax a bit, since he was very tense, especially when Axel fell sick. It was not often for shifter baby to fall sick, but because their healing ability was still not developed fully, it was not an unusual thing to happen either.

"Axel will be fine," Hanna said, as she found Will was sitting beside Axel’s crib.

Will lifted his head and gestured for Hanna to sit on his lap, which she did. She snuggled sleepily against his chest, while he held her closely.

"I have never thought that my life will turn out like this." Will kissed her forehead. "Thank you for everything that you have done. Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for giving me this family and sacrificed your body to give birth to our beautiful baby. You don’t know how much I appreciate it."

Hanna hugged him back. She kissed his neck. "You have contributed a lot too," she didn’t want Will to forget about it. "You meant a lot for me too. You have kept me safe, make me the happiest that I have ever felt and I am so thankful that you didn’t give up on me, on us."

Hanna was very thankful that Will kept trying to get away from his past trauma and even more when she noticed that he had stopped hurting himself.

"More so, Axel will not be here without your contribution too," Hanna said sheepishly, as she kissed his lips. "I should thank you more for that."

Hearing that, Will laughed, but he immediately lowered his voice, just in case he woke up their baby and then carried Hanna back to their bed.

He had spent a lot of time with his son, this time he would spend it with his beautiful mate. After all, Hanna had woken up, thus they really needed to make the best out of it, right?

============================

"Daddy! Daddy! Look! What I found!" Axel rushed toward Will with his short legs, while holding a little animal.

"Is he going to bring all the animal he found back home?" Hanna could only shake her head. Their baby was four and he loved to explore. He would be very excited whenever Will shifted into his best and let him sat on his back.

Will laughed and approached his son to see what was in his hand.

"What is this?" Axel asked, as he showed him a beetle.

"A beetle."

"A beetle?" Axel repeated it. "Does it bite?"

"No."

"Can we take it home?"

"You need to ask your mother for that."

Axel then turned toward his mother, he looked at Hanna with his big eyes that he took after Will. "Mommy, can we bring it home? It doesn’t have a friend."

"We can’t bring the beetle home, honey. Because its home is here. It does have friend."

Hanna and Will then took their son deeper into the forest to see more beetles there, where Axel finally gave up the idea of taking the beetle back home.

But the next day, their son almost gave them a shock when he returned with a snake.

Hanna was frightened when Axel showed the snake. Thankfully, Will came and immediately took the snake from his hand.

Their little boy was very adventurous and when he grew older, he would play with Zander, Zenith and Rye too, which didn’t help, because the four of them were very mischievous.

When Axel turned ten years old, he finally shifted for the first time, where Hanna and Will stayed with him and helped him throughout the whole process.

"Don’t fight it back, honey," Hanna said, as she caressed his back. Their boy curled his body on the ground, fighting his instinct to fight back, because he could feel there was something that intruded his mind and soul. It was his wolf spirit that came to the surface.

Will then shifted into his beast to guide him through the process.

Thankfully, Axel didn’t need to suffer for long because an hour later he already shifted into his brown wolf. His wolf was small and he tried to run, but stumbled, because he still needed to adjust himself with this new form.

But it was cute to see how this little wolf nipped on Will’s leg when he was in his beast form, because he wanted him to come with him to explore in his beast form.

Hanna shifted into her wolf too and followed them. This was the happiest day in their life. Will taught Axel how to hunt, which he could do it with ease, as if it was in his nature.

He managed to catch two rabbits today and he wanted to bring the rabbits back home.

"Promise, I will look after them," Axel said in his adorable voice, which Hanna and Will couldn’t turn down.

"He looks so tired," Hanna said on their way back home. Axel was on Will’s back, sleeping, while she held the two rabbits.

"Yes. But, I am sure we will hear him talking about his first shift for the next few months now."

Hanna chuckled. "Yes. I think that will be the main topic at home for now on."

The sky had turned reddish with the color of red from the sun set, as this little happy family walked back to the comfort of their home.
