While Harlow and Alanis argued about whether to leave the mansion or not, a shadow lurked outside the door.
A pair of sharp, watchful eyes had seen Harlow step inside the room, and now, the opportunity she had been waiting for had finally arrived.
Lia wasn’t about to let this golden opportunity slip through her fingers.
Click.
The lock turned silently, trapping Harlow inside.
A slow, satisfied smirk spread across Lia’s face.
Getting rid of Harlow Blackwood for good, was her goal. And now, she had the perfect way to do it. Garth had told her everything Harlow did, her brother’s injury, Claudia’s Juvie arrest, and many more. They were all hellbent on seeing Harlow leave the Hamilton family for good.
She could already imagine Alanis’s reaction when he received a message, or better yet, a video, of his wife in another man’s arms. She giggled and then covered her lips with her pal so that the girl inside would not hear her.
No one would believe Harlow. No matter how much she tried to explain, no one would listen. There’s no getting out of these this time. Now even Frank can save his daughter this time. She was done for.
Lia knew her mother would back her up the moment she saw the pictures. Once the story spread, there would be no place for Harlow in the Hamilton family.
It was the perfect revenge.
And the best part? No one would ever know Harlow had been locked inside the Blackwood family mansion the entire time. Because to the family, she had left already.
Lia clapped her hands quietly, excitement buzzing through her veins as she went to find her accomplice... Claudia.

Inside the room, Harlow sighed, already tired of arguing with Alanis.
"I’m serious, Alanis. Let’s go." Alanis didn’t move.
Fine. If he wanted to stay, she would leave without him. She turned and reached for the doorknob, only to find that it wouldn’t budge.
Harlow paused.
At first, she thought maybe the lock was broken. But she had just walked in without a problem. Frowning, she twisted the knob again. Nothing.
"What the hell?" she muttered under her breath.
Noticing her struggle, Alanis walked over to help. He twisted the knob, but the door still didn’t open.
To Harlow’s irritation, he smiled.
Smiled? He was smiling when something as serious as this was going on.
"It’s locked," he said, turning to meet her gaze. Harlow clenched her teeth. Was this his doing? She should have known he would trap her in here when she arrived. She should have left him when she had the chance to.
She twisted the knob again, harder this time, her frustration growing. It had to be him.
No one else in this mansion would dare lock her inside.
"You can stop now," she snapped. "Call your accomplice and tell them to open the door. I’m not here for this Alanis."
Alanis raised an eyebrow, looking genuinely confused. "I have no part in this."
Harlow didn’t believe a word he said.
Not wasting any more time, she stormed over to her balcony, hoping to spot someone outside. A maid, a servant, anyone who could unlock the door.
Her sharp eyes scanned the yard, and finally, she spotted a guard walking by.
"Hey!" she called out but the man kept walking, oblivious to the fact anyone had called. Of course, he wouldn’t hear her, she was living in a three-storey building, and he was a little far from the building.
"Hey!" she tried again, louder this time.
The guard finally looked up. "Miss Harlow," he greeted with a bow.
"I’m locked in. Can you help me out?" she asked, trying to keep her voice calm yet loud.
"Of course, ma’am. That’s no problem," he assured her before heading inside.
At the same time, Claudia and Lia were already a step ahead. They had gathered all the maids, giving them strict instructions.
No one was to open the door until they said so. No matter how many times Harlow bangs the door crying for help, they’re not to open the door.
Two maids were already stationed outside, standing guard.

"Should we hire anyone for her? What do we do?" Lia asked. They needed strong proof, but Claudia waved her off.
"There no need, her not being in the Villa is enough evidence already. Let us go over to the Villa to let Alanis know in person." Claudia suggested, but Lia shook her head.
"I’m still banned from entering the Villa remember? And going over now would only make them suspicious of everything." She said.
"So what do you suggest?" Claudia asked.
"We wait it out. Tomorrow morning we will arrive there to attack Harlow and expose her for her true nature." Claudia nodded.
While both ladies walked away, the guard finally arrived before Harlow’s room door but he was quickly stopped by the maids.
"What is it, no one is allowed in here." They said.
"Miss Harlow, she called from outside stating that she was locked in here." The maids smiled at his words.
"You have nothing to worry Marcus, we already attended to her." Marcus nodded gently. "Alright, then I shall leave." At that, he started walking away.
Harlow who had heard the quiet voices from outside started banging on the door. "Who’s there, open the door now." She commanded. But no one responded. The maids were all following the instructions of their Miss Claudia, if they didn’t, then they would be in serious trouble.
"I demand you open this door now!" Harlow yelled again with a loud bang, but they did nothing. They weren’t moved by her threats or words. To them, Claudia was more powerful than Harlow.
When Harlow got no reply from the maids, she turned to the man on the sofa glancing through a book. Alanis’s sudden calmness was suspicious but she didn’t even have the time to think about it.
"How long will things keep going your way?"
